Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: c-rank mission and Chakras

Currently, Konoha's medical ninja system has not yet been established. Although there are pharmacies and clinics, medical resources have not yet been integrated, and the Konoha Hospital has not yet been founded.

At the Senju Ancestral Home, the medical facilities in the room Tsunade set up specifically for the team's healing are already the best in the village.

While receiving treatment from Tsunade, Uchiha Gen suddenly had a strange illusion. It was as if he were getting a spa treatment and Tsunade was the technician... because her healing process was simply too comfortable.

As soon as those warm hands, glowing with the faint green light of the Mystical Palm Technique, were placed on his body, his flesh wounds and bruises began healing rapidly. Even his muscles, fatigued from long-term exertion, felt relieved.

The sensation of that Yang Release chakra flowing through his body was more relaxing than any massage. His entire being, inside and out, felt as though it had been cleansed and healed, as if he were being reborn.

"This feels way too good!"

Sarutobi Enjun lay on the wooden bed, motionless, with his head tilted, tongue lolling out, and eyes vacant. He looked exactly like a dazed child, seemingly still savoring the afterglow of the treatment.

"I had Tsunade do this because you are all still very young. Under the effects of Yang Release chakra, the hidden injuries in your bodies can be healed quickly. Otherwise, I am afraid you would not be able to endure the upcoming training."

Orochimaru's face wore a wicked smile, which made Gen's heart skip a beat.

"Orochimaru-sensei, if we get too tired from training, what will we do about missions?"

Completing missions, earning experience, and then leveling up to draw cards this was the most important thing for Uchiha Gen right now. If he couldn't draw cards, how could he maintain his persona as a top-tier genius?

After that last C-rank mission, his experience bar had grown significantly. If Orochimaru was willing to take them on missions, he would definitely be able to level up this month. But if it was all hellish training from here on...

"It is fine. I will give you time for a mission once every other day; that will be a rare moment of relaxation for you. Do not worry about being too tired; Tsunade has already given me sufficiently detailed data on your physical conditions. With every training session, I guarantee I will squeeze out every last drop of your stamina and force out your full potential."

The three of them immediately looked at each other. From now on, it seemed there would be no more easy days.

"Orochimaru-sensei," Uchiha Gen suddenly spoke up. "Can you get medical Ninjutsu materials from Lady Tsunade? If someone in our team can learn medical Ninjutsu, the probability of our team surviving dangerous missions in the future will be much higher."

"I know some as well and can teach you. Actually, never mind. I will go ask Tsunade if she has anything better. She has been organizing related materials lately and knows better how to learn medical Ninjutsu systematically."

Orochimaru spoke after a brief silence and then immediately turned and walked out the door. Sarutobi Enjun immediately turned his head and gave Uchiha Gen a thumbs up.

"Gen, you're the one with the ideas! If someone in our team can learn medical Ninjutsu, we can enjoy this every day!"

"Yeah, even if the effect isn't as good as Lady Tsunade's, it might still relieve training fatigue to some extent. If we ever go to the battlefield one day, our team will have an extra layer of protection."

Uzuki Ruri lay nearby, nodding in agreement. Tsunade had truly made them feel wonderful.

"Whether we can even learn it is another matter," Uchiha Gen said, lying relaxed on the bed with his hands behind his head, looking at the ceiling.

It was hard to say to what extent they could learn medical Ninjutsu. However, he had the Sakura Haruno character card. Even if it was just Sakura from her Academy days, he should at least possess the basic qualities required to learn medical Ninjutsu. Getting started shouldn't be a problem.

As for the future, he would have to see if he had the chance to draw character cards for powerful medical ninja, or perhaps a high-level skill learning card.

A few minutes later, Orochimaru walked back into the room holding several sealing scrolls.

"These contain the relevant books needed to get started with medical Ninjutsu. Do not lose them; many are rare copies from the Senju Clan. While studying, you also need to make a transcript of them. After you have read through everything once, I will take you to catch some animals for live experimental learning. You must record all your thoughts during the learning process; this will be very useful for Tsunade. I, too, will be systematically re-learning medical Ninjutsu from now on."

"Also, the gift Lady Mito mentioned is already in there. This is a set of Fuinjutsu textbooks she compiled. Although they are just textbooks, they are quite in-depth and comprehensive. If you can master this book, you will already surpass the average level of the Sealing Corps."

"It is just that both Fuinjutsu and medical Ninjutsu are difficult for ordinary ninja to start with, and even harder to master. I do not know what your talent for sealing techniques is like, but if you find you have no talent for it, there is no need for in-depth study. You only need to know how to deal with and use basic sealing techniques."

Orochimaru knew that for things like medical Ninjutsu and Fuinjutsu, if you don't have the talent, you simply won't learn them; the requirements for the individual are higher than for standard Ninjutsu.

A person's energy is limited. Even Orochimaru wouldn't invest too much energy into medical Ninjutsu and sealing; as long as he was proficient, it was enough. Of course, what Orochimaru considered "sufficient" would be considered master-level to the vast majority of ninja.

Uchiha Gen and the others had just graduated and were entering the golden age where a ninja's strength improves most rapidly. They should use their precious time to improve their physical fitness, refine their chakra quality, deepen their mastery of Ninjutsu, and increase their combat experience.

Fuinjutsu could be learned, but only to the point of being able to handle a regular enemy's seals; it was enough as long as they wouldn't be killed due to an information gap. Medical Ninjutsu only needed to be enhanced to the point of being able to quickly handle most injuries and improve survival capability.

To truly be like Uzumaki Mito or Tsunade, delving into these two fields deeply enough to apply them to frontal combat would require not only a lot of time but also top-tier talent.

"By the way," Orochimaru suddenly turned his gaze toward Uchiha Gen. "If you can master medical Ninjutsu to a certain extent, it will also help with learning the Ninjutsu I am going to teach you. But remember, before you practice it, you must tell me. I will help you make preparations."

What kind of Ninjutsu exactly did Orochimaru give him that was actually related to medical Ninjutsu? He was definitely not a verbose person; for him to remind Gen repeatedly, the danger was likely not low.
