Noel saw some upgrades also came with the new class .
Arcane bolts and arcane barriers upgraded into well upgraded would not be the correct word as they didn't level up but just changed fundamentally.
The upgraded ones are .
Wither orbs and wither shield .
So how do you feel after getting your new class Anna asked .
"Noel shaked his head and said with a smile
I don't know if I haven't been in this situation for long enough, maybe I am still adjusting in this shitty environment .
Anna raised her eyebrows after listening to that answer and after thinking for a bit .
Well for some people they are trained from childhood to survive these trials and even they don't have to guarantee to survive .
She took a pause and said . But you here have done it, you are surviving and at the end of the day this is all that matters .
Noel looked at Anna and for the first time felt that having a partner might not be bad after all .
So did you test your new upgrades of your spells .Anna asked .
Yeah i haven't let's do then and I also want to know the other uses of my dream cores and aspect and how to better utilise them .
With that Noel stood up and went towards a small cactus looking like a plant .
He waved his hands and this time not a bolt but a small brown looking orb was conjured .
Noel sent the orb towards the plant and when it touched the plant .
And the effect raised eyebrows in both Anna and Noel .
As the plant that just was perfectly standing a strange brown energy went off and it suddenly dried away and the only thing left was flowers falling .
Seeing this reminded Noel of the autumn .
Looks like the effect isn't bad . Anna said
Noel turned towards her and said
Anna, will you spar with me?
She raised her brows with that and asked .
Why haven't you had enough fighting these days?
Yeah but in those fights I can't properly use my spells aspect and my dream cores abilities .
So I think a spar would be best for improving them .
Anna stood up the bow in her hands and looked calmly towards Noel and said .
No killing intent," she reminded him "but I won't hold back .
Noel nodded once .
The bowstring snapped off Anna's bow .
The arrow cut through the air , trailing a thin line of fire .
Noel vanished instant step carrying him to the side as the arrow struck the ground where he'd stood . The impact scorched the soil ,heat rippling behind .
He countered immediately.
Thin translucent strings spread low, slipping through grass and dirt, anchoring themselves to stones and roots .At the same time ,the air shimmered, illusion bending distance, blurring his exact position.
Anna didn't stop firing .
Two more arrows followed in quick succession.
The first split and illusion in half ,passing through it harmlessly .The second struck a string mid air , burning it away in a flash of sparks .
So you can burn them ," Noel muttered .
He stepped forward -then sideways - then vanished again .
Anna's eyes narrowed .
She planted her foot and grew deeper , This arrow burned brighter than the others .
Noel felt the heat before he saw it .
He flung a wither orb forward .
The arrow pierced straight through the orb , then the orb burst apart , The air collapsed inward draining moisture and heat alike the flame guttered and died mid flight, The arrow clattering uselessly to the ground .
Anna raised a brow. " Interesting ."
She moved .
Instead of retreating she fired arrows and ran, forcing Noel to use the instant step many times in just a few seconds .
Never staying in one place to be pinned .
Strings appeared outward again ,this time higher .
One wrapped around an arrow mid flight , twisting its trajectory, another brushed Anna's sleeve , tugging her balance just slightly.
She let go of the boy with one hand ,rolling under the next arrow's recoil.
Then fired again from a kneeling position.
The shot was clean .
Noel barely avoided it , the arrow gazing past his cheeks, heat singing in the air .
He appeared behind her.
"A wither orb formed in his palm- smaller this time compressed .
Anna twisted and loosed an arrow without looking .
Nole dropped the orb at his feet .
"The ground beneath them withered instantly, soil cracking and collapsing .Both were forced to jump back as the terrain failed .
They landed opposite each other .
Anna drew one final arrow ,flame coiling tighter than before "last exchange.?
Anna asked .
Noel fingers spread .
Stating clearly his reply
Strings flared outward - not to bind her but the arrow .
The moment she released it,the string caught the shaft redirecting it downward .
Noel used instant step to appear beside the arrow path and kicked it into the dirt .
At the same time the illusion thickened .
Anna stepped forward and stopped .
A string rested tightly against her throat .
She could move . He hadn't tightened it behind her .
Noel stood with a wind blade
They held it there .
Before Anna turned back and a fire bullet was fired towards Noel who was caught off guard .
Noel quickly tried using the upgraded shield spell .
Which dried the bulled missile when it came close to Noel .
Nole started forming a wither orb but saw Anna standing with an arrow aimed towards him.
You win .
Noel exhaled and said .
Anna fired the arrow in the sky which exploded in the air , making quite a lot of fireworks.
Nole, seeing the attack power, was astonished and turned towards Anna with a forced expression and asked .
"Just for the record, if I hadn't given up, would you have used that arrow on me .
May be maybe not Anna said with a small smirk on her face .
Noel smiled faintly and then .
They both then started walking deep into the desert for their next voyage .
"As they left the only thing remaining was the ground withered and the scorching earth reminding that the spar was anything but gentle .
