When Wattson ordered Magnemite to use Discharge, Aiden Flint reacted instantly.
For a Fighting-type Pokémon, speed was a huge advantage.
Monferno burst forward with Quick Attack, slipping past the electric blast, then drove a blazing fist straight into Magnemite's body!
With Iron Fist amplifying the blow and the type advantage in play, Magnemite was knocked out in a single strike.
"Ding! Monferno defeated Magnemite. Gained 207 EXP. Level increased. Current Level: 20."
Wattson froze for a moment, then burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! What a fine Trainer! Both you and your Pokémon are impressive. But the next one won't be so easy!"
He recalled Magnemite and released his second Pokémon.
Manectric.
"Ding! Manectric's current status."

Aiden immediately recalled Monferno.
"Great job, Monferno. Now it's your turn—Lairon!"
As the Steel- and Rock-type Lairon stepped onto the field, both Pokémon locked eyes, a powerful pressure spreading between them.
"Manectric, Discharge!"
"Lairon, Rock Slide!"
Lightning and falling boulders slammed into each other.
Electric attacks were far less effective against Lairon's rocky body, while Rock-type moves hit Manectric hard.
"Manectric, Fire Fang!"
"Lairon, wait for it—Metal Claw!"
Manectric lunged forward, flames burning between its teeth.
But just before it struck, Lairon roared.
The sudden intimidation caused Manectric to hesitate.
And that was enough.
Metal gleamed.
Lairon's claw slammed into Manectric and sent it flying.
"Finish it—Earthquake!"
Lairon stomped.
The ground split.
A violent surge of Ground-type energy erupted exactly where Manectric landed.
"Manectric is unable to battle. Lairon wins!"
"Ding! Lairon defeated Manectric. Gained 385 EXP. Level increased. Current Level: 35."
Wattson smiled.
"So you beat my Manectric that easily… Very well. For the final round—Electabuzz!"
The last Pokémon appeared.
A Level 41 Electabuzz—a true pseudo–Elite Four opponent.
"Ding! Electabuzz's current status."

"Electabuzz, endure it—Brick Break!"
Fighting-type attacks were four-times effective against Lairon.
One hit could end it.
"Lairon, Protect!"
A green barrier blocked the strike at the last second.
Aiden recalled Lairon.
"Sceptile—go!"
"Quick Attack into Leaf Blade!"
"Electabuzz, Thunderbolt!"
Electricity tore across the field—but Sceptile was too fast.
Leaf blades slashed across Electabuzz, carving red wounds into its body.
"Sceptile—Solar Beam!"
