Chapter 3 - What the Hell?!

Bakugo

What the hell is going on?

When two of my classmates heard about the robbery in town, they decided to try and be cool by pretending that I of all people needed bodyguards and insisted on following me home. We walked through town for most of the way home, but when we reached the traffic jam from the robbery, my classmates pointed out a clear way that we could use to go around everyone.

Then we ran into Deku.

There was something wrong with him, he wasn't his usual self. Not nervous, not scared at all, just numb. Then he smiled, a creepy weird smile that seemed to pierce through all of my mental barriers and scratch holes in my mind. I was so shocked that I called the idiot Midoriya.

"Now I have to kill you! Isn't that great?" he said, his voice was slightly off, not his own. "No- now I'll make Izuku Midoriya kill you with his own quirk!"

What? What quirk?

It's relatively obvious that he's not the real Izuku Midoriya, but then who is he? I readjust my footing and prepare to give him a warning, but before I can do so much as blink, he's on me. Launching himself directly on top of me, his left hand is holding my right down, his knee tightly pressing down on my left forearm. If I weren't sure this wasn't Midoriya, I would write it off as something entirely different, but with his other hand hovering over my face, I see it. A glow of green turning from a spark to an orb; could this be… a quirk?

I focus firepower into both my hands and ignite the nitroglisterien-Like sweat I've built up over the last few minutes, an explosion bursts upward, aimed at Deku's chest and head, at least I have enough human decency to hold back enough that all he'll have are some burns. My fire blasts around me for a moment, I use this time to search for where Deku ended up, launching myself to my feet.

Where is he? I feel a pressure pulling at my shirt from behind and swivel on my foot to face him again, his eyes have this certain pain to them that doesn't match the delirious smile plastered on his expression. I search for my classmates, coming up empty as Deku yanks my shirt, hard. My explosion didn't even leave a scratch on him- so I guess I'll just have to be stronger.

"Who the hell are you and what did you do to Deku?" I yell, setting another explosion directly in front of me.

Deku coughs, once, twice. Greenish red liquid dripping from his mouth, a line of blood sliding down from his nose- panic wells up inside me- this is bad… "My name is not one you would recognize, kid, I simply needed a vessel to escape town, it wasn't part of my plan to be followed by All Might, not to mention running into someone who knows this little twerp- he thinks very highly of you."

"All Might is around? Great, maybe if I make enough smoke, he'll see it and come watch me kick your ass." I pause, maybe… I can get him out of Midoriya, no matter how much I despise him, I don't want to kill him- or see him killed. "Why would you need the body of a quirkless loser anyways, come out here and fight me yourself!"

"You know, I don't think I will." He makes another strike, aiming directly for my face, "What confuses me is how sure you both are that this boy doesn't have a quirk- especially with one as strong as he does."

I dodge and plant a right hook on Deku's shoulder, making him stumble back, his smile turns to a frown, "No matter; this body won't last much longer, I'd better get going."

"No you don't!" I scream, blasting fire in his direction with a flare, I prepare myself for another strike, as the smoke rises and the ally clears up again, he's gone, Deku is gone.

"Deku!" Damn it- what do I do? "Deku! If you can hear me- Kill that bastard!"

My classmates and two people wearing costumes burst into the alleyway, "Bakugo! We got help!" one of them says, the person in the green costume holds out a hand and closes their eyes, "I don't sense anyone, did you see which way he went?"

"No." I start, "Don't- don't you dare hurt him. He's been taken over by some creepy ass hole." The Hero's both give me a thumbs up before pointing to my arm, "You've been hurt, you're bleeding." a trickle of red dripping from a cut just below my elbow. I didn't even notice… if I had to guess I'd say it happened right before I pulled that last explosion.

"Was it you that made all of those explosions or the villain?" the hero in the purple asks, of which I nod my head in response. "And did this villain appear to have any quirks other than the suspected possession?"

"Not 'suspected' possession, I know the kid he took over, Dek- Izuku Midoriya. He kept talking weirdly, saying things like 'this body won't last me long' and taunting me with Midoriya's voice. He didn't use any other… at least I don't think he used any other quirks… Midoriya is quirkless."

The green-suited hero gives a nod. "You should get that arm checked out. We'll take it from here."

"Hell no. I'm coming with you. I'm probably stronger than both of you combined," I snap, then quickly tack on something more reasonable. "Besides, Midoriya knows me. He—he woke up for a second while we fought. I know I can fight that thing off."

I glance around. My classmates must've bailed again. Cowards.

The heroes both frown. "No way. All Might's already after this villain—we're not even cleared to intervene. He wouldn't want a student in the way."

"I'm not just some student," I growl.

"We'll make sure he gets your info," one says gently. "Seriously though—your arm. It's getting worse."

"It's not—" I glance down again.

Oh.

Blood's dripping more freely now. The adrenaline's wearing off, and I'm starting to feel it. "…Fine," I bite out. "But I will find a way to kill that bastard. Whether you like it or not."

And save that dumbass Deku.
