Since some had already guessed, I decided not to beat around the bush about the creature's identity. So yeah, they were right, but it wasn't a secret in the first place haha, I gave a few hints to the more attentive ones.

You were right
I still have some historical events in mind, but I'll try not to overdo it so I can eventually reach the present day.

While I wait for Lilith to return, I start to look around. It's a simple room, a bed and shelves with plenty of books. Out of curiosity, I begin to look at the books and remember that I can't read, but I get lost in the drawings. I sit on the bed and feel the faint scent of Lilith; I wouldn't say that I like her or love her, it's more like an attraction that's hard to ignore.
Meanwhile, Lilith arrives, now with dark red eyes, and looks at me.
-"Even if I don't sleep, the bed is useful for reading books." says Lilith.
-"Immortality can be very boring. I spend most of my time traveling with occasional stops. But I would like to learn to read; maybe it could be a good hobby." Kael says thoughtfully.
-"Maybe, but first let's go outside." says Lilith as she starts to descend the tower stairs.
When I leave the tower, I notice that it is already night; Lilith is among the trees waiting for me. As soon as I reach her, she tells me to use my ability on the tree. The moment I touch the tree, it begins to lose its leaves and then starts to die and decay until nothing is left.
-"Interesting, now grab this stone!" Lilith says as she throws a stone towards Kael.
As soon as I grab it, I start to use my ability, but unlike with the tree, the changes are minimal and much slower.
-"If I'm correct, the ability isn't to make things decompose; it would be more like accelerating the time of whatever you touch. When you touch a human, they start to age and then decompose, but because you probably don't control the ability, the process is very fast!" says Lilith curiously. "When you touched me, I just instantly got hungry, because time passed but I don't age or disappear. After all, we are immortal!"
I look at my hands and feel disappointed—wouldn't this be a useless ability?
-"You look disappointed, but don't be; we need to do a few more experiments." says Lilith, thinking. "Besides, I see your ability being very useful against werewolves or shapeshifters."
-"Werewolves and shapeshifters? What exactly are they?" asked Kael, curious.
-"Where do you come from? Shapeshifters aren't very common, but werewolves spread like a plague!" said Lilith, amazed.
-"I spent the last hundreds of years or more in Rome and its surroundings." said Kael.
-"That explains it, territory of the Volturi," said Lilith. "Didn't Aro take you under his wing? He likes to collect people with interesting abilities," Lilith asked curiously.
-"I had little contact with him, and I prefer things to stay that way." said Kael, uncomfortable.
For a few moments we stayed in silence, looking at each other, until Lilith started to smile at me, beautiful. In the next moment she disappears and attacks me from the right, very fast, but I can see her easily. When I move to defend the attack, at the last millisecond she strikes with her left leg, and I am thrown against the trees, tearing several of them down in the process.
-"Most people wouldn't have managed to defend my first attack, but you saw it even though I distracted you with my charm!" says Lilith, smiling.
-"Isn't it normal? Besides him, I've never seen anyone as fast as you, but I can still see your movements." says Kael.
-"No, especially for someone with so little experience like you," says Lilith as she begins to smile. "You not only speed up the time of what you touch, but you also manage to slow down the time of what you see around you. I would say that's something much more than useful!"
Before I can respond, she attacks me again, fast, but I manage to see it and defend against the attack. I feel the impact on my arm, she is strong, very strong. We continue to fight for almost the entire night while I notice her movements and learn. Maximus was experienced, but in the end, he was human and doesn't fight like us. Lilith is more reckless and wild, but it works. She can change the attack in the last milliseconds before contact, making me suffer almost the whole night.
She holds me down on the ground, defeated, looks at me with those red eyes, and smiles. She lowers her face slightly and lightly touches her lips to mine. A strange sensation, but I wouldn't call it bad. Something inside me longs for it, but it's as if something is missing, something I haven't found, incomplete.
-"I think it's time for you to continue your journey. I don't think I can hold myself back if you stay here, I've been alone for many years!" says Lilith as she looks at Kael with a smile.
-"I don't think I would mind!" says Kael as he looks into Lilith's eyes.
-"That feeling you have is temporary, I could never fill the emptiness in you!" Lilith says softly as she gets off Kael. "I think we will meet again, Kael!" says Lilith as she heads to the tower.
I see her leave and feel a small sense of loss. I look at the tower as I watch the sun rise on the horizon and smile.
2 hours later at Lilith's tower
Lilith is lying on the bed reading a book when she looks at a dark area of the room where the torchlight doesn't reach, but she can see perfectly.
-"Long time no see, Lilith. I see you met my Kael!" says the creature with a smile.
-"Is all this really necessary? There would be better ways for you to get the results you want, CAIN!" Says Lilith, uncomfortable with Cain.
-"Yes, its necessary. Every story needs an ending, Lilith!" says Cain with an empty but sad look.
