Chapter 23 - H.P: Chapter 23: First Trial.

In these days I have begun working on the creation of different artifacts that will help me when it comes to going out in search of certain missing materials for the making of the magic ring, a ring that can handle the flow of magic in a way almost similar to that of a wand, an artifact that helped many during the rebellion to survive the attacks of those malicious beings that tormented their everyday lives.

Although it is not easy and requires a long process, I know I can finish it at the latest in another week. This will help me so that casting spells does not depend solely on the wand, though this artifact must remain far away from enemy minds, as it would be far too risky for this to come to light right now.

Even though at the moment I only need my ring, it wouldn't hurt to take advantage of the following years to create rings for those who are willing to join the fight against the great army of evil beings that grows larger every day.

But first and foremost, I need to create artifacts to correct certain deficient qualities that I have not yet been able to develop because of my size or magical capacity. With these objects, I can increase my chances of winning battles or exploring areas more safely.

A few days ago, we were also informed that first-year students, after their first week, are usually given a practice trial with a relatively difficult challenge for students our age. This is to measure magical abilities and talents, not only intellectual but also physica,l when entering difficult environments, hostile environments that threaten our safety or that of our companions.

Wizards, sorcerers, and witches in general were the support of many warriors of the past. Now, in the present, conflicts and wars have diminished significantly, but I, better than anyone, know that this will not last for many more years than those already dictated in my future.

Although normally this is not spoken of, there are still hidden warriors in secret villages among the mountains, half-humans and priests who together can form a great group, a group that helps to strengthen the weaknesses of each member.

Even though this is no longer common practice in the future, it is something that resurfaces because not only wizards but also some magical beings want to eradicate Muggles and others who stand against their ideals of conquest or domination over inferior species.

All of this falls under the hands of the already well-known Dark Lord, the main figure responsible for ending thousands of lives… lives valuable to me and to the other soldiers of the revolution… For now, I will continue exploring as much as I can and take advantage of the time to create artifacts that will help us later. I will be the one to destroy that mantle of darkness that covered everyone's life.

"Hey Dion, are you okay? You're really quiet and seem kind of angry. Did you do something wrong?"—Patrick interrupts my thoughts and brings me back to reality.

Right now, we're heading to the trial zone that students have repeatedly mentioned in the hallways.

"Hey, have you seen Phylicia? She hasn't shown up since yesterday. It's weird that she isn't bothering anyone at this time of day," says Patrick, puzzled by the unusual quiet without her.

I suppose that spending these days together continuously makes her loud and confrontational behavior make our days less boring.

"No, to tell the truth, I haven't seen her since after dinner yesterday, though she was acting a bit strange."

"That's true… she wasn't eating like crazy as usual," Patrick points out.

"Maybe we'll find her at the trial. Let's not worry too much for now."

"Worried? I'm not worried. My day is more peaceful without her," says Patrick, his cheeks turning red with embarrassment and his voice taking on a slightly different tone as he tries to sound indifferent to the situation.

After walking a bit deeper into the forest, we see the other students waiting along with Professor Silvanus Kettleburn and Professor McGonagall, who were talking to each other when we arrived.

"At least this time you arrived on time, boys… Well, let's continue with the protocol since we're all here, Professor Silvanus," says Professor McGonagall.

"Look, there's Phylicia, Dion," Patrick points out with a bit of joy in his tone, which instantly changes when he realizes how cheerful he sounded at the sight of Phylicia. "Pff, great… I hope it's not a group trial, because most likely we'll get stuck with her since she doesn't have any friends."

Looking closely at Phylicia, it's clear something isn't right with her today. Her dull face and the constant movement of her hands show her anxiety all too clearly. What Patrick says is true, Phylicia doesn't have the ability to make friends like Patrick does, but one thing is certain: she always stands out for her strong personality.

Alongside me, it could be said that she's one of the best when it comes to handling magic, so if this is a group trial, being with her will definitely make things easier. Although she doesn't seem very energetic right now, I know that when she's around Patrick, her explosive personality will come back significantly, since there's no one better to test her patience than Patrick.

"Very well, my dear students, good morning to you all. I hope you rested well, because as some of you already know, you are about to face a very important trial to determine your power and magical ability. As many of you may already know, in our world, magical structures often appear, where magical creatures, beasts, and valuable objects reside," explains Professor Silvanus with excitement.

So that's what this was about… Although it's quite feasible to test teamwork ability, I don't think it's an appropriate trial for first-year students. Hogwarts sure likes to take risks.

"These structures are called dungeons. Dungeons are classified alphabetically, with S-A-B being the most dangerous and difficult, requiring powerful wizards with many years of study. Next are the C-D rank dungeons, usually used for practice by upper-year students, and lastly, the F-rank dungeons, with a basic level of difficulty suitable for first- and second-year students," explains Professor Silvanus.

"It should be clarified that even though they are F-rank dungeons, like the one you are about to enter, you must go in large groups to ensure everyone's survival effectively and without any risk," interrupts Professor McGonagall.

"That's right, kids, and that's why your first trial as first-year wizards will be an F-rank dungeon located near the academy. There is no major risk, so you'll be able to test your abilities freely. We will be waiting for any emergency call with the charm, which will allow us to come immediately to your location in case something goes wrong," says Professor Silvanus.

"The groups must have a maximum of 10 people. Considering there are 50 students, there will be 5 groups of 10. Each group will enter after the other and will be in charge of clearing the dungeon. Remember that at the end of every dungeon, no matter how low its rank, there is always a strong creature protecting the dungeon's final treasure. So don't even think about facing it unless it's necessary. When you reach the creature's door, make sure to come back and give a report," explains McGonagall.

"You will be given kits with magical potions in case you need them, so please form your groups and let's begin your first F-rank dungeon trial!" shouts Professor Silvanus with a big smile.
