Chapter 1 - 1

What is Reincarnation?

Reincarnation is the liberation of soul moving from one body to another.

It was supposed to be only a belief. Yet..

Such a mystical thing was achieved by my own hands

...

"Hah.. Life is quite boring, isn't there anything that could pinch my interest?"

Coming home from school, Libera muttered while kicking a stone.

Libera is a student who has boundless confidence in the inside, yet pales on the outside. Believing himself to be a genius who is capable to do anything, yet chooses not to be extraordinary.

While walking on the street, Libera noticed a crowd on the convenience store.

"Hm?"

Overcome with curiosity, Libera decided to take a look at the commotion.

Stood there is a bunch of students who are debating which genre is more engaging, which included action, fantasy, reincarnation, and romance.

Libera quietly listened to their conversation without making a sound, for him to not be labeled as a weird stranger who lingers around a group of students.

After a while, he quietly detached himself from the group. As he walked near toward his house, he remembered a particular word that interested him as a self-proclaimed genius.

Reincarnation.

The desire to end this boring life with starting anew.

Out of genuine excitement and relief for finally finding a way to pass the time of boredom, he steeled himself to accomplish this never-seen before phenomena.

(A/N: Sorry, we'll have to skip the experiment parts due to me being inexperienced in writing, if i get a hand of it over time, ill hand the decision to you guys if you want me to write it or not.)

...

At his room, after nth amount of experiments and variables that were identified associated with reincarnation..

He failed.

Libera couldn't understand why, was it because reincarnation is a far-fetched thing from reality? Or was his intellect lacking?

He directly erased the possibility of the first one, the reason being that as a researcher and a philosopher of life, he would only believe with his empirical senses, with the sole thing limiting him is the reality that hit him with facts.

Therefore, the second option is the only thing that could explain this predicament.

Hm?

What?

No way?

No way..

No way.

nowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynowaynoway.

Madness taking over his mind, he didn't notice the falling post on his way.

Libera could have actually dodged it, but with his vast knowledge about reincarnation and the stories surrounding it, he arrived at the conclusion no sane man would do.

Run towards it.

At his last thoughts before dying-

'Ah.. I've finally achieved it'

That was the moment his first life had ended.

...

'Now that i think about it, its quite illogical for me to fall into madness just because of a single mishap.'

'Maybe it was fate? Well nevermind, the thing that i worked so hard for finally happened and proven, so i can't waste this chance that happened through luck.'

With that all over, Libera pushes himself up from the ground, heading to a place called Fimbuldown recommended by a certain traveling merchant.

'Based on the information i have gained so far, this seems like a medieval setting, except not from the actual history of course, with magic backing that up.'

Yes. Magic.

It is the ability to do something miraculous that is normally impossible to do.

The only exception that is different from my understanding of magic from games is that in this world, being able to use magic basically makes you a god.

It wasn't just about firing spells or whatnot, it puts justice to the definition of magic, quoting "the power or art of influencing events, manipulating natural or supernatural forces".

What im really glad about is that most of the magic users in previous epochs have died due to old age, and that magic was an innate talent with the chances of one being born were... Let's just say that you have a better chance at atoms aligning perfectly in your lifetime.

But as an anomaly to this world and having won that nearly impossible chance, he could use magic, but the thing is, that magic is currently 'shackled'. And Libera estimated that it would take a thousand years at the earliest to unlock a single shackle even with his terrifying mind. Truthfully, a thousand years is lenient compared to the oldies in the cosmos.

'Hah.. I thought i'd won the jackpot. Turns out it was just false alarm.. How am i supposed to live that long!?'

Libera grumbled as he traveled on the way.

Libera's magic shackles were divided into seven parts.

Heart.

Soul.

Mind.

Body.

Form.

Energy.

Illusions.

Truth.

First is heart. Once unlocked, it offers an undenying presence of reality, making yourself invulnerable to existensial erasure attacks or similar types.

Second is soul, offering a possibility that doesn't exist, making the desired outcome be willed into existence.

Third is mind. Practically making you semi omniscient.

Fourth is body. It offers the perfect vessel for magic, seamlessly making any magic that is brought into existence be done no matter what requirements it would have.

Fifth is form, making your magic unfettered by external forces. No matter the magic, law, forces may be, only you can alter the magic you made.

Sixth is illusion, making you have the authority of fiction and non-fiction

Before i mention the last one, all the aforementioned powers are only a bundle of magic that strengthens the body until he unlocks the last one.

Finally, the truth. It could make any phenomenon and unlocks the hidden power of the six magics.

Preoccupied by his thoughts, Libera unknowingly approached the gate of Fimbuldown.
