I stepped into the road?
Why don't I have any memory?
What happened to me? I cried…
The door opened, and a nurse entered, followed by a man in a healer's uniform.
The healer murmured something to the nurse, then turned to me.
" How are you feeling."
I starred at him blankly.
"Ok" the healer clearly didn't cared if I answer, he took out a pen, "your name is Ella Blackwood, right?"
I didn't give any answer. " the healer furrowed his brow and brought a tablet forward, flipping through some notes.
"We contacted you mate. Alpha Nolan.
He mind linked you earlier but.."
I blinked again, slowly
My mate..?
What is mate?
Who is my mate?
Did I lose my memory or what…?
Healer said, "Alpha Nelli said he thought you were making up the accident for attention to cause trouble. Anyways, I will inform him you are awake."
A sharp silence cut through the room, then an indifferent voice was nearly in my ear, in my head
"Ella, seriously?" A familiar man's voice spoke in my thoughts. " You just had to go and make a fuss out of nothing?"
Third person POV
Nelli was furious.
He got a call from the healer, saying Ella had a car accident.
He thought this was another excuse she mad to get his attention.
She caused all sorts of trouble these years. Throwing her tantrums, making a scene all these drama — just to get. His attention. He has had enough.
A car accident now huh?
She's been gone for only half an hours!
"What are the odds?"
"I am not doing your childish game." His voice low, "How many times are you going to use excuses to get my attention?
You need to learn to stop Ella.. I have got better things to do I am not for this your games "
"Go home and stop bothering me" he said
"Ummmm.. what?" She sounded hesitated.
"What home?"
"Go home" he ordered again, "and stop pestering me."
Her voice totally confused, "I DON'T KNOW WHERE HOME IS… who the hell are you?"
"What.." he said
"I had a bad headaches.. could it be that I am suffering from amnesia?"
Why can't I remember anything?
The weirdo's vice in my head paused.
Hiss voice filled with confusion and distain.
"What is this, " he asked " your new trick?"
"What?" I was a little angry, because of his tone, "and why are you in my head?"
"Ella, I don't have time for your games or tantrums. Stop pretending. The moonstone pack will be arriving soon,and k need you home. Now." He tried to drag me out of the bed
I pushed him away with force. "Leave me alone"
Then— silence. The mind link cut so abruptly, I felt like I'd been slapped.
What… the hell?!
That was rude!
I blinked up at the ceiling, the sterile white light of the hospital sharp against my eyes. I was searching for anything, any memories, an explanation, but there was nothing.
Who was that?
No- who was I?.. Ella? I am Ella?
A low cursed broke the quiet. I turned my head, found the red head still standing over me, arms folded and lips curled in outrage.
"Unbelievable! She hissed "You almost died, and. That sorry excuse of a husband doesn't even care all he wants is for you to go with him for the moonstone"
Husband? I asked in surprise
I tried to sit up, but my body screamed in protest. But she fused over and helped me upright, her touch gentler than her toner. "Careful," she muttered. "The crash was bad. You have only been awake for a few hours."
"Wait." My voice cracked. "I am married?" I asked
She froze. Her gaze snapped to mine, searching. "Ella.. don't mess with me right now."
"I am not." I muttered, "who am I am married to?" I asked
Her face tightened, shocked. "What? Didn't you just connect to Alpha Nelli's mind link? Wow… you really don't remember, huh?"
… So that person just now was Alpha Nelli? My Husband?
"Well, I am Ria, we have been friends for a long, long time. As for Nelli, you have been devoted to him."
Ria could hardly believe it all, but she still went on to explain everything to me.
"You- you just stoop by, loving him. I was never a fan."
I stared at her. "Why would I love someone like that?"
And I meant it. Something inside me curled at the idea. It felt foreign.
Pathetic
Ria blinked, startled. "WOW. That's new. The old you, whenever you mention Nelli, you will defend him for just breathing. Now you are actually saying this about him.. that is new."
I scoffed, " Now that is the thought of a normal person"
The "Me" that Ria described was utterly unreasonable — giving up Everthing for a man? Foolish! Why not live for yourself?
Just then, the door swung open and the Healer stepped in again He looked at me over with practiced boredom, his lips twitching with something close to disdain…
Ria frowned. "She doesn't remember anything not even Nelli, you need to do another check."
The healer rolled his eyes, but came forward anyways. But when his hands touched me, his expression changed.
He stiffened, eyes flickering. " You have a wolf," he said softly . "That is impossible."
My throat tightened. "What?"
He didn't answer me. He just moved more quickly now, fingers searching along my temples, my stomach m. And then he went still.
"She is pregnant"
Ria shot you "What?!"
"Only a few weeks. Barely detectable. But it is there. The Healer took a step back, his face pale. "And she is healed almost comp, even from moment ago when I checked. Faster than she should If she is wolf-less, a rogue.. this shouldn't be possible."
He left in a rush, muttering something about needing to speak to the Alpha immediately
Pregnant. I let the word sit in my mouth, so unreal the world had a titled, completely untethered. I looked at Ria, hoping she had an answer, but all I saw was her crumbling.
