Walking back with Isha, Logan's expression was a little stiff.
Honestly, even before he went to The Last Drop, he'd already imagined how the conversation with Silco would end. The odds of success were basically zero. If Silco were that easy to persuade, he wouldn't be Silco. For Zaun, the man was a lunatic who'd throw away his own life without blinking.
You couldn't "talk therapy" someone like that into surrender.
It was almost funny—other transmigrators ran their mouths and somehow the "villain" wakes up and repents. Why did it work for everyone else… but not for him?
Back in the room, if Silco hadn't been wary of Logan's strength, Silco definitely would've made a move. Logan's senses were far beyond normal now—he could spot the smallest flicker of tension in someone's face. That was why he knew the moment Silco's hand kept fumbling around under the table: there was a gun down there.
What else would it be? Silco just sitting there grabbing himself for fun?
So in the end, Logan still forced Silco to back off with sheer strength.
What Logan hadn't expected was that somewhere in the middle of all that talking… he'd almost gotten pulled in by Silco's words.
Zaun's godfather actually showed him a vulnerable side?
In the show, the only time Silco ever showed weakness… was when it came to Jinx.
Which meant, in a way, Logan hadn't convinced Silco to cooperate—he'd almost gotten trapped himself.
Zaun's godfather showing you weakness, telling you between the lines that he wants you to help him… who the hell could resist that?
Silco… really did have charisma.
That was one of the reasons Logan hadn't killed him.
There were several reasons he wouldn't:
First—if Silco died, the Chem-Barons would be leaderless. To seize territory and the power Silco left behind, those short-sighted bastards would tear each other apart.
Zaun would collapse into total chaos. Sure, Logan could become some kind of Zaunite serial killer and cut them down one by one—anyone who didn't submit, he'd smash. But was he going to slaughter everyone? What was the point of "building Zaun" then?
Second—keeping Silco around, with his political instincts and iron-fisted control, would actually help Zaun's future. Logan wanted Zaun to improve. Eventually he'd have to deal with Piltover's councilors—but Logan didn't understand politics at all. He'd probably get played. In that area, Silco was useful.
Third… obviously, Jinx.
Her heart wasn't big. There weren't many people inside it.
And she couldn't afford to lose another.
A small tug on his hand brought Logan out of his thoughts. He looked down to see Isha staring up at him.
"It's fine. I'm not upset." Logan patted her head and smiled. "Don't worry, Isha."
Then something occurred to him, and he quickly added, "But when we get back, I need your help with something, Isha."
Isha tilted her head.
"?"
————
Back at the Spirit Blossom Gang hideout, Logan and Isha returned on foot. When they got to the tent, nobody was inside—but before long, Jinx and Vi showed up together.
They entered the big tent at the same time. Jinx walked in first, Vi close at her side, her expression noticeably lighter than before.
Isha remembered what Logan told her. She grabbed a pen and ran straight to Jinx.
The moment Jinx saw her, she happily crouched down, arms opening wide toward Isha.
"What're you gonna draw? Let me see."
Two little cuties huddled together, and Logan moved over to Vi.
"Make up?"
Vi glanced at Logan and gave a bitter little smile, shaking her head. "No. She's still mad at me. But she's willing to talk to me now—as long as I call her Jinx, not Powder."
"What does it matter?" Logan said. "Jinx or Powder—she's still your sister."
Vi pressed her lips together. She looked like she wanted to say something, then shook her head—then immediately nodded—so conflicted she didn't know what to do with herself.
But she suddenly grabbed Logan's arm and asked, "What did you even say to Silco?"
"You're not… taking his side too, like Powder—like Jinx, are you?"
"The world isn't black and white," Logan said after a moment. "And people aren't purely good or purely bad, Vi."
"Maybe," Vi said, staring hard at him, teeth clenched, "but he killed Vander. He made Powder into this. I want revenge, Logan."
"Vi," Logan said, shaking his head, "Silco isn't the one who turned Powder into Jinx…"
Even now, Vi still refused to admit it—the person who shattered Jinx wasn't Silco.
It was her.
Even if Silco had been the spark that lit the fuse.
No… really, things started going out of control the moment Vi heard about the tip from Ekko and ran to Piltover to steal.
Vi's expression shifted, stubborn resentment flashing through her—
So Logan cut it off immediately. "We're not doing this right now."
"By the way—are you staying here, or are you going back to Piltover with that Piltover cop?"
"Of course I'm staying here." Vi looked at him like he was insane. "Jinx is here. Why would I go to Piltover alone? What, am I sick?"
Logan smiled.
Good.
The timeline really had changed. Vi and Caitlyn weren't deeply tied together yet, and Jinx hadn't "lost it" in front of Vi the way she did in the original story.
So Vi wasn't planning to go join the Enforcers.
As long as she didn't run off with Caitlyn, it was fine.
If Vi left, Jinx would spiral for sure—and Logan didn't want to see that.
Right now, it was still early. A lot could still be changed.
"Then… officially, welcome back, Vi," Logan said.
"Don't give me that," Vi frowned. "I'm not calling you my boss, Logan."
Being stubborn was her nature. Having no sense of boundaries was carved into her bones. Maybe Silco's description of her earlier had been dead-on.
And she was like this because back when she and Logan ran together, Vi had been the one in charge. She'd been the leader.
Now, being asked to treat Logan like the boss made her feel awkward.
Even if she didn't understand how Logan had become this strong… she couldn't help feeling a little unconvinced.
Just a little.
"Whatever," Logan said casually.
He didn't care about Vi.
He cared about Jinx.
If Vi weren't Jinx's anchor, then honestly—Vi could go wherever she wanted and Logan wouldn't give a damn.
Run off with Caitlyn, fall head-over-heels, lose her mind—none of it would matter to him.
Logan stopped paying Vi any attention and went over to Jinx.
As he got close, he saw Jinx sprawled out with both arms and legs wrapped around Isha, hugging the little one tight. Her tongue was slightly out as she taught Isha how to draw.
"You wanna see fireflies? No problem—I can make them. They'll even explode. What? You want to see real fireflies?"
"Ugh, that's a pain, Isha. For real fireflies we'd have to go catch them in Topside—and we might not even find any."
"But I know a place that has fireflies," Jinx rambled on.
"What are you two talking about?" Logan sat down behind Jinx and leaned in to look at Isha's drawing.
A weird-looking firefly had appeared on the paper. Its eyes were huge. It even had fangs.
And the best part—it was blue.
Hearing Logan, Jinx leaned backward, her soft body sinking right into his chest.
From Vi's angle, it looked like: Jinx holding Isha, and Logan holding Jinx.
It looked exactly like a family of three.
But—wait.
Where did that leave her?
Vi's chest tightened as she watched. No—Logan's spot should've been hers.
Jinx tipped her head back, grinning at Logan. "Isha wants to see fireflies. I'm thinking about catching a few and bringing them back."
"Zaun still has fireflies?" Logan asked.
"Yeah. The Firelights have them. I'll just go ask them for a few." Jinx said it like it was nothing. "And if they don't give them to me… I'll take them."
Logan laughed—and secretly traded a glance with Isha.
Little Isha flashed her teeth in a proud, smug little grin.
She helped Logan.
She didn't actually care about fireflies at all. She liked the "toys" her sister built way more.
But this was what Logan wanted.
So of course Isha would do it.
TN: There will be a little surprise on Sunday.
