Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: A Hit

Seung-ho glanced up from the espresso machine, a hint of surprise in his eyes at the sudden request. He wiped his hands on his apron and walked over to the pink-haired guy with a polite smile.

"Sure, no problem," he said, positioning himself beside the guy for the photo.

As they stood together, Seung-ho noticed the admiring looks from nearby customers and felt a twinge of unease. He wasn't used to being the center of attention, especially not for his appearance.

After the photo was taken, Seung-ho returned to his work behind the counter, trying to focus on his tasks and ignore the lingering stares. However, he couldn't help but overhear some of the whispered conversations about him.

"He's so cute and talented," one girl sighed dreamily.

"I wonder if he's single."

"Stop dreaming a handsome yet a beautiful guy like him is always taken," someone said. Wonglin poked his head out and he nodded his head.

"Ladies stop dreaming but we should make a an account for him be his top fans what if he becomes famous we can lead them," Wonglin said.

A week later

Seung-ho was sleeping when he heard his phone was ringing. Seung-ho opened his eyes and answered his phone.

"Jasper what's up?" Seung-ho asked.

"Holy shit! You are famous now! The movie you played in holy cow! Look it up!" Jasper shouted.

"Huh what social media they use after all this a different country so different social media?" Seung-ho asked.

Jasper laughed loudly on the other end of the line.

"Not social media, Seung-ho! The movie you acted in has become a massive hit! It's breaking records at the box office and everyone is talking about your performance!"

Seung-ho sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes in disbelief.

"What? That's impossible. I only did that one scene as a favor."

"Well, it seems that one scene was enough to capture everyone's attention. Critics are raving about your 'breakout performance' and fans are demanding to know who you are."

Jasper's voice was filled with excitement.

"Hey, maybe this is your big break! You could be the next big thing in Korean cinema!"

Seung-ho sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"I don't know about that. I'm just trying to focus on my job at the cafe for now."

But even as he said it, he couldn't deny the flutter of excitement in his chest. Perhaps there was more to this acting thing than he initially thought.

"Jasper what are the popular social media in South Korea?" Seung-ho asked.

Jasper thought for a moment before responding.

"Well, the most popular social media platforms in South Korea are Naver, KakaoTalk, and Instagram. Naver is like their Google, with its own search engine and web portal. KakaoTalk is a messaging app that's incredibly popular, and Instagram is widely used for sharing photos and following trends."

He paused briefly before adding.

"Oh, and let's not forget about YouTube! Korean YouTubers have a massive following."

Seung-ho nodded along as he listened, committing the information to memory.

"So, if I wanted to create an online presence, those would be the platforms to focus on?"

"That's right," Jasper confirmed.

"Do they use WhatsApp?" Seung-ho asked.

"No, WhatsApp isn't as popular in South Korea as it is in other countries. KakaoTalk has taken its place as the dominant messaging app," Jasper explained.

Seung-ho made a mental note of this information. He thanked Jasper for the explanation and ended the call, his mind racing with newfound knowledge about the Korean social media landscape.

As he lay back down on his bed, he couldn't shake the feeling that his life was about to change drastically. The fame from his movie scene had already begun to trickle into his daily life at the cafe, with customers asking about him and taking photos.

Seung-ho sighed, closing his eyes and trying to calm his racing thoughts. Whatever was to come, he would face it head-on, just like he always did. For now, however, he needed some rest before starting another shift at the cafe.

Little did he know that his newfound fame was just the beginning of a series of unexpected events that would soon consume his life...

"Jasper you handle this," Seung-ho said.

"No worries bestie!" Jasper said as he hanged up and Seung-ho went back to sleep.

When he woke up again. Seung-ho went to the cafe to work what shocked him they were a lot of people. But he did his work without getting distracted.

🌸🪷🌸

Chi Chengzhou, the youngest son of the powerful Chi Family, sat at the head of the long conference table, his cold and indifferent aura filling the room. His piercing gaze swept over the line of bodyguards, each one standing ramrod straight, their faces devoid of emotion.

The man who had spoken earlier shifted uncomfortably under Chi Chengzhou's stare, his voice trembling slightly as he continued.

"Your reputation precedes you, Mr. Chi. They say you're more ruthless than your older siblings combined."

A small, cold smile played on Chi Chengzhou's lips as he listened to the man's words.

Chi Chengzhou grabbed his red gun which had a design JA. The next moment he shot at one of the other men and Chi Chengzhou smirked coldly.

"Mr. Li, your family owns my family 1.2 billion USD dollars," Chi Chengzhou said coldly.

"Chi Chengzhou!" Mr. Li shouted but Chi Chengzhou people all pulled out their guns.

Mr. Li's face paled as he realized the gravity of his situation. He knew the Chi family's reputation for ruthlessness, but seeing it firsthand was a terrifying experience.

"Please, Mr. Chi, let's discuss this calmly," Mr. Li pleaded, his voice shaking.

Chi Chengzhou stood up slowly, his red gun still trained on Mr. Li. He walked around the table with deliberate steps, his cold gaze never leaving his prey.

"There's nothing to discuss," he said calmly, his voice dripping with menace.

"Your family owes us 1.2 billion USD, and I intend to collect."

He stopped in front of Mr. Li, tilting his head slightly as he studied the man's frightened expression.

"I'll give you two options," Chi Chengzhou continued, his tone conversational despite the deadly seriousness of the situation.

"Either you pay back the debt immediately, or... I start taking what belongs to you."

His eyes flicked to one of the bodyguards standing nearby.

"Bring me a knife," he ordered coldly.

The bodyguard quickly retrieved a sharp knife and handed it to Chi Chengzhou, who examined it with a critical eye. He then turned back to Mr. Li, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

"Let's start with something simple," Chi Chengzhou said, his voice deceptively calm.

He grabbed Mr. Li's hand and pressed the knife against his palm, applying just enough pressure to draw a thin line of blood.

"One finger for every hundred million USD," he explained calmly.

Mr. Li's eyes widened in horror as he realized Chi Chengzhou's intent. He struggled against the bodyguards holding him down, but their grip was unyielding.

"No, please!" Mr. Li cried out desperately.

Chi Chengzhou ignored his pleas, his cold gaze fixed on the bloody knife in his hand.

"How many fingers are we starting with?" he asked conversationally, as if discussing the weather rather than torture.
