Rex pulled back from the kiss slowly, a thin string of saliva between their mouths stretching for a moment before it broke.
Aveline's cheeks were already flushed a deep pink, her breathing uneven, eyes half-lidded and shining under the soft glow of the distant academy lamps.
The courtyard around them felt suddenly too open, too exposed, even though no one was close enough to hear the quiet sounds they had just been making.
"Let's take this somewhere else," Rex said, voice low and rough from the kiss.
"Yes…" Aveline answered without hesitation, the single word soft and eager.

The path they chose was only a short walk from the main cobblestone walkway that cut through the northern edge of campus, yet the thick trunk of an old oak and the deep shadow it cast created a narrow pocket of privacy for them!
