"Bro. W-wat?" Edri asked, blinking at him.
"Yes," Rex repeated, taking another bite of the purple fruit. "I'm renovating this cave. You're not so sure the Shydrym cult isn't looking for us, right? So... it's either we both stay safe here and wait for my own cult's rescue team, or we go out there, run, and waste all our energy for nothing."
Edri fell quiet for a second, chewing thoughtfully before swallowing.
"How's your side, by the way?" Rex asked, his dark eyes shifting down to her midsection.
Without a single moment of hesitation, Edri lifted the white medical coat, pulling up her top to reveal her stomach.
The thick, white surgical bandages Rex had applied were still wrapped firmly around her waist, completely dry without a single spot of fresh blood.
"It... it hurts a lot whenever I move," she admitted, a faint wince crossing her features before her face softened into a small, genuine smile. "But it doesn't hurt like it first did. Thank you, by the way."
