The heavy footsteps clicked against the cold, damp stone floor as the figure slowly stepped out from the oppressive darkness and into the dim, warm circle of yellow light.
Rex blinked through his blurred, feverish vision.
Standing before him was Edri— wearing her standard, pristine Vahard Academy 2nd year uniform, but with a dark, embroidered Shydrym Cult mantle draped lazily over her narrow shoulders like a dramatic cape.
Rex stared at the emblem embroidered on her collar, his brow furrowing. "You're... with the Shydrym Cult?"
Edri froze mid-stride, her golden eyes widening. "What?! Woah… How the hell do you even know about Shydrym?!"
Rex didn't answer. He just leaned back against the hard wooden frame of the chair, his dark eyes fixed on her.
Edri waited for a response for 3 uncomfortable seconds, shifting her weight from foot to foot as the silence stretched on.
