After quickly putting away everything from the private safes, the thing Hunter liked most by far was undoubtedly Frank's backup plan: the land and property in Canada.
However, although all of it had been purchased anonymously, there was no guarantee it would not leave some trouble behind.
But that was no problem for Hunter.
He was already planning to register a few shell companies later and run the properties through a few transactions.
At worst, it would just take a few million to ten million dollars and a few months of time to completely clean up those properties and land.
Just thinking about it made Hunter almost laugh out loud.
He then looked at the two small safes taken out from the wall of drug lord Frank's bedroom.
Although these two safes were small, the fact that they had been embedded into the wall and deliberately hidden meant there was probably something important inside.
So he spent another ten or so minutes opening them.
When he finally saw what was inside, Hunter first looked a little stunned, then could not help but smile with excitement.
"Continental coins?!"
One of the safes was actually packed full of Continental coins.
Hunter quickly scanned it and saw that there were fifteen stacks of coins, plus another stack of four.
Each stack had twenty coins, for a total of 254 Continental coins in the whole safe.
You have to know, Frank was not a member of the Continental Hotel.
Even if he had been, or if one of his men had joined the Continental, it would not have been easy to accumulate more than two hundred coins.
The Continental Hotel's design for Continental coins was very successful.
After completing a contract, every assassin could earn some Continental coins.
Inside the Continental, those coins functioned as a hard currency with no ordinary value.
All services provided by the Continental, including assassination contracts, weapons, vehicles, armor modifications and sales, intelligence trading, and special hotel services, could all be paid for directly with Continental coins.
Because of that, even top-tier assassins like Hunter, who could complete several high-difficulty assassination jobs a month and earn more than ten to twenty million dollars in commissions from the Continental, had only accumulated twenty to thirty Continental coins since joining the Continental nearly half a year ago.
Among them, twenty coins had even been compensation from Cole not long ago, given within his authority to make up for previous issues.
Because Continental coins were so useful, and because ordinary people could also use them inside the Continental, the outside market had set a sky-high price of 500,000 dollars per coin, with huge numbers of people buying them.
Hunter did not know about others, but he knew that most of Perkins's Continental coins were sold off by her.
And yes, they really did sell for 500,000 dollars each. However many you had, someone would buy them.
That showed just how in demand Continental coins were.
Now, in the drug lord Frank's safe, Hunter had found 254 of them.
For a moment, even he did not know how to describe the man.
At one point, Hunter even thought of a phrase often used by Chinese internet users when commenting on the United States before he had crossed over:
"While the neighbor stocks grain, I stock guns. The neighbor is my granary."
It was not exactly the right phrase to use here, but for some reason, Hunter thought it fit perfectly.
All those years Frank had worked hard to earn money had ended up benefiting Hunter.
"Two hundred and fifty-four Continental coins. Once sold, that would bring in at least more than 150 million dollars."
"Looks like this time, after doing a good deed and removing a major drug lord from New York, I really am going to make a huge profit."
Satisfied, Hunter put the 254 coins away.
Then he looked at the last safe.
All told, the things he had taken from Frank were worth at least three to five hundred million dollars.
But if you wanted to say it was worth ten billion, that was definitely not enough.
He quickly opened the last safe door, but what met his eyes were several thick notebooks, a stack of file folders, and more than ten discs.
Hunter opened and looked through them, and his brow soon furrowed.
After skimming through them rapidly, only after he saw that several people he had once seen in the news were mentioned did a smile appear on his face.
"Interesting."
"No wonder that guy Frank was able to become such a well-known drug lord in New York and even throughout the United States in just over ten years."
"So this guy really does have people backing him."
The contents of this safe were important, but they could also be worthless depending on how you used them.
Because inside were records of Frank's past bribery of New York City officials, state officials, and even several U.S. congressmen.
There were even records of how he had helped those politicians solve many troublesome matters.
It was obvious that Frank was extremely cautious.
He probably also feared being set up and sent to prison one day.
So he had kept detailed records of many of his past transactions, bribes, and favors.
Hunter believed that Frank must have prepared more than just this one copy of such material.
If used well, this could instantly add at least several dozen New York City council members, state legislators, and even members of Congress to one's camp.
But without enough power to intimidate and control them, the backlash from those politicians would be more than just any random force could handle.
"These things, if used well, are absolutely worth more than one or two hundred million dollars."
"Maybe I can split them into two parts and sell them to two different factions."
"I do not have the power to intimidate those politicians and keep them in line."
"But that does not mean other factions cannot do it."
"This is the real treasure Frank left behind."
After rapidly sorting through many ideas in his head, Hunter soon had a clear plan for how to use these things and even who to sell them to.
He was planning to contact Cole, the Continental Hotel's concierge in Los Angeles, later on.
And he also planned to quietly leak some of the information to Diana.
Cole was backed by the Continental Hotel, and even by the High Table.
As for Diana, although Hunter still could not determine exactly which force stood behind her, it was clearly no weaker than a cross-border conglomerate, and was definitely a monstrous power as well.
If he did not take the chance to extract some benefits from them, Hunter would feel sorry for himself and for all the effort he had put in lately.
Thinking of that, he glanced at the sky outside, which had only just begun to lighten a little.
After a while, he barely resisted the urge to call Cole and Diana at four in the morning.
