Chapter 27 - Yukinoshita Yukino's Doubts

Ten minutes later, Kawashima Toya and Yuigahama Yui, who had covered the taxi fare, arrived at the gate of a school.

This was the school countless otaku dreamed of entering, for no other reason than Yukinoshita Yukino.

Toya glanced indifferently at the sign for Sobu High School, then followed Yui into the campus as naturally as if he belonged there.

"Eh? We weren't stopped?" Yui asked in surprise. "Don't strangers need permission to enter the school?"

She had been prepared to be stopped, but Toya had walked straight in?

Toya chuckled lightly. "Perhaps because I look young."

"That makes sense." Yui stared at Toya's handsome face in confusion. "Are you actually very old?"

"Same age as you," Toya replied after a moment of thought.

After transmigrating, his appearance had reverted to that of a seventeen-year-old.

However, his actual age was still in his early twenties.

"Suspicious," Yui mumbled.

She had heard the hesitation in Toya's voice.

What normal person would hesitate about their own age?

But Yui didn't dwell on Toya's age; she had more urgent matters to attend to.

Soon, led by Yui, Toya arrived outside a clubroom.

The sign on the door read: Service Club.

"If I hadn't watched the anime, I might have misunderstood," Toya thought with a chuckle.

When someone first recommended Oregairu to him, hearing the name "Service Club" had made him think it was some kind of unspeakable anime.

He had even specifically chosen a time when no one was around to watch it secretly.

Yui pushed open the door and cheered, "Yukinon, I brought the professional back!"

Inside the clubroom, a beautiful girl with smooth, shoulder-length black hair, exquisitely cute features that bordered on foul play, fair skin, and a sadly flat chest slowly looked up.

Her ice-blue eyes, cold as a glacier, quietly sized up Toya. "Is he the professional?"

"Yuigahama-san, I strongly suspect you are being deceived."

In the corner, a black-haired young man with a hunched back, holding a book, and possessing eyes like rotten dead fish looked at Toya. His pupils contracted slightly.

"It's actually him!"

Seeing Yui's smile, Hikigaya Hachiman quickly figured out the confusion in his heart.

Why would Yuigahama, who lost her pet dog Sablé, regain her smile? It seems she knows everything now.

Seeing the distrust in Yukinoshita Yukino's eyes, Yui was about to explain, but Toya grabbed her arm.

Toya shook his head and said calmly, "No need to explain."

"Have you forgotten what I told you?"

Yui covered her mouth, relieved. "Thanks for the reminder, Kawashima-kun. I almost forgot."

Matters concerning Evil Gods could not be revealed to ordinary people.

Doing so would invite very troublesome consequences.

Yukino furrowed her delicate brows and said coldly, "Do you have some kind of deal?"

"I will ask my family to handle the matter of this mysterious little girl. You, the 'professional,' please leave."

She had absolutely no trust in this stranger.

Especially since the matter involved was too sensitive. A little girl who wasn't human would attract the attention of too many people.

"Yukinon!" Yui shouted anxiously. "He really is a professional..."

At this moment, she desperately hoped that Yukino, who disliked contact with strangers, would accept Toya.

A supernatural little girl was simply too dangerous. Every minute she remained could cause great harm.

"No need to explain anything."

"You paid the commission fee. I don't care about the opinion of an unrelated bystander."

Toya glanced indifferently at Yukino, having no intention of engaging in conversation with her.

Yukinoshita Yukino was too cold. Interacting with her was just asking for trouble.

He certainly liked Yukino in the anime, but reality was a different matter.

He wasn't good at dealing with icebergs.

Toya believed that one day, Yukino would come asking for his help.

After all, the current world was surprisingly chaotic.

To the side, Hachiman, who had been acting as background decoration, stepped forward to smooth things over. "Yukinoshita-san, let him try."

"We are ordinary people; we can't understand their domain."

As someone who had witnessed Toya's strength firsthand, he naturally knew Toya was a true professional.

However, he wouldn't speak of seeing Toya in combat.

Yui clearly knew the truth about Sablé but chose to keep it secret.

Although he didn't know why, he would simply pretend not to know.

Hearing the persuasion of her two club members, and stung by Toya's remark about being an "unrelated bystander," Yukino's beautiful face grew even colder, like an iceberg.

"This is my club, the Service Club. As the president, I ask you, an unrelated person, to leave."

Toya glanced at her disdainfully and scoffed.

Does she really think I'm some gentle protagonist who does whatever he's told?
