Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Staravia: Where is my trainer?

The next day.

Lucas felt something rubbing against his chest.

He reached his hand into the quilt, and it felt warm.

"Shoo..."

A soft sound came from beside his ear. He opened his eyes and saw a fiery red Vulpix head peeking out from under the quilt on his chest, its brown, pupil-less eyes, like amber, staring at him.

"Morning, Vulpix. Good morning, Gengar."

He sat up, gently moved Vulpix from his chest to the bed beside him, yawned, and greeted Vulpix and Gengar, who was exercising on the balcony.

Finally, he looked at Mime Jr. who was neatly folding its small quilt on the small bed nearby.

"Good morning, Mime Jr., your folded quilt looks really nice."

"Mime Jr.~"

Mime Jr. finished folding its quilt, scratched the back of its head, chuckled, then got off the small bed and ran downstairs to prepare breakfast for Lucas and the others.

"Gen garjie—"

Gengar, with a headband tied around its head and a hula hoop around its body, walked in from the balcony. Seeing Lucas awake, it greeted him.

Looking at the hula hoop and headband on Gengar, and then at the other online shopping items it had tidied up in the room, Lucas couldn't help but say, "Online shopping requires caution."

"Gen garjie? ¬ _ ¬ `"

Gengar glanced at him. What, do you have an opinion?

"It's nothing, as long as you're happy."

Lucas sighed, saying, ever since he taught it how to use the internet, it started using the allowance he gave it to buy these Pokémon internet celebrity products.

However, thankfully, everything it bought was cheap or on sale.

Should he say it was good at managing the household or just wasteful with money?

Never mind, as long as it was happy.

Vulpix followed Lucas to the bathroom door, where Lucas was brushing his teeth, and Gengar was standing under the shower, covered in bubbles, taking a bath.

"Point the showerhead more inwards, it's spraying over here."

Lucas shouted at Gengar, his toothbrush still in his mouth.

Gengar responded with a sound and then moved the showerhead a little further in.

After washing his face, Lucas picked up Vulpix and then used a towel to wash its face and wipe its body.

"Let's go, Vulpix, let's go downstairs for breakfast."

With that, Lucas carried Vulpix downstairs.

"Remember to wash quickly and come down for breakfast."

"Gen garjie—"

Okay!

After eating, he asked Dash to pick up Shauna, then went to the incubation room to check and count the Pokémon Eggs. Seeing that there were only a few Pokémon Eggs left, Lucas wrote it down in his notebook, planning to order another batch from Jenny later.

Returning to the lounge area, Lucas, with nothing to do, lay on a chair, holding Vulpix, quietly watching TV.

Mime Jr. was still washing dishes in the kitchen.

Gengar was sweeping the Breeding House with a broom, but then saw its favorite cartoon playing on TV, so it stood by and watched with great interest.

Seeing this, Lucas didn't change the channel but watched with Gengar.

Until Shauna arrived, she greeted him as soon as she entered, then took Mime Jr. and Vulpix and ran towards the backyard, with Chingling following behind by Bounce.

Finally, Gengar simply dropped the broom and sat beside Lucas, watching the cartoon intently.

Lucas saw this and got up to cut a plate of Berry assortment for it in the kitchen.

Looking at the almost empty Berry supply in the refrigerator, Lucas closed the refrigerator, thinking about expanding the Berry planting area sometime soon.

Just as he placed the Berry assortment on the table, he heard a commotion from the backyard.

"Uncle!"

Gengar shot off, passing through the wall, going directly from the kitchen to the backyard. When Lucas opened the door and arrived in the backyard, he saw a Staravia flapping its wings, hovering directly in front of Shauna and the others. Gengar, with eerie flames in its hands, looked at it with confusion.

Staravia cried out, and Gengar hesitated for a moment before extinguishing the flames in its hands.

"What's wrong?"

Lucas came to Shauna's side, ruffled her little head, and asked.

"Just now, a really big airplane flew by, and something fell from it, and then it helped us knock the fallen thing away."

After listening to Shauna, Lucas looked up in the direction Shauna pointed, but saw nothing.

Dash walked over and handed Lucas something.

It was a broken glass cover. Looking at the remaining glass shards in his hand, Lucas vaguely had a feeling of déjà vu.

After a moment of thought, he handed the glass shards to Dash, then asked Gengar to clean up the remaining glass shards, so as not to injure the people and Pokémon in the Breeding House.

Then he looked up at Staravia, "Thank you for your help, Staravia."

He took the Energy Blocks that Mime Jr. brought from the kitchen, grabbed a handful, and threw them one by one to the Staravia in the air.

Staravia cried out after eating, but did not leave.

"You want more, do you?"

Seeing this, Lucas grabbed another handful, but Staravia shook its head, then landed on the open parasol.

Lucas, not knowing what it meant, concentrated.

[Staravia]

[Type: Normal, Flying]

[Gender: Male]

[Ability: Reckless]

[Known Moves: Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Double Team, Take Down, Brave Bird, Air Cutter.]

[Mood: Good]

[Status: Expectant]

[Friendship: 60 (It seems to have known you for a long time?)]

[Introduction: A Staravia that seeks to become stronger. It seems to be looking for a Trainer who can help it become stronger?]

[Where is my Trainer? — Staravia]

Lucas suddenly understood, "You want me to help you find a Trainer?"

Staravia looked at him, then nodded.

This was difficult. This Staravia was quite strong. With the boost from its hidden ability Reckless, the power of Take Down and Brave Bird would increase.

However, the stronger it was, the stronger and more excellent the Trainer it needed. Now, almost all powerful Trainers had gone to participate in the League Conference, and since his Breeding House was located between Twinleaf Town and Sandgem City, there was no Gym, so the number of excellent Trainers it could attract was very few.

But it had also protected Shauna and the others.

It was a bit troublesome.

Finally, Lucas made up his mind, looking at the Staravia that was burying its head and grooming its wings, "How about this, if a Trainer comes, I'll bring them to meet you. If you both are satisfied with each other, you can leave together, how does that sound?"

Staravia thought for a while, then nodded.

It spread its wings, flew a few circles above Lucas and the others' heads, then flew towards the depths of the forest.

"Hey, where do I find you then?"

Lucas shouted into the distance, but Staravia's figure was already gone.

Lucas was dumbfounded, and in the end, could only shake his head, reminding Shauna and the others to be careful, and then returned to the counter.

After lunch, while Lucas was picking herbs in the backyard, he heard the sound of wings flapping in the distance, and then a Staravia landed not far away on the ground, not in the herb garden.

Lucas recognized it as the Staravia from the morning. Lucas walked out of the herb garden and came before it, finding that it was holding a bag in its mouth. He took it and saw that it was full of Berries.

"Is this for us?"

Lucas smiled.

Staravia nodded.

"You're quite kind-hearted, you know."

He reached out his hand and, under its confused gaze, stroked the feathers on its back. The texture was surprisingly good.

And so, the forest area of the Breeding House gained a Staravia waiting for an excellent Trainer.
