Chapter 2 - 2. New Attitude

A week had passed, and Yohan had learned much about the place he now inhabited.

The Heaven Sword Sect existed in a different realm, yet its form mirrored the Earth he once knew. But the people here knew nothing of technology—everyone wielded magic powered by Mana energy.

Every martial artist possessed cultivation levels, unlike ordinary humans who lacked a Mana Core.

The same applied to Mo Yohan's body, the one Yohan now occupied. He had no Mana Core. This made Mo Yohan a failure—the grandson of the legendary Sword God.

Yet Mo Yohan was the first grandson. His three younger brothers had all surpassed him. Mo Zhao, the second grandson, possessed a Mana Core at Mana Reinforcement Level 4. Mo Haoran, the third grandson, had reached Mana Opening Level 2. And Mo Yuchen, the fourth grandson—the one hailed as the heir apparent—wielded Mana Purification Level 2.

Yohan himself had no Mana Core. He was nothing but a disgrace to the Mo family. The thought irritated him. How could it not? In his previous life, he was someone feared by all.

No one dared meet Yohan's eyes, not even for a moment. But now, even the servants in the Mo estate dared to mock him.

"The First Young Master has no shame. How can he dare enter the main estate after being defeated by the Fourth Young Master?"

"Right. I heard even the Grand Master forbade him from leaving his residence. But he still wanders around with that stone face."

"Unbelievable. He's the First Young Master, yet he doesn't act like an heir at all."

"I think the inheritance will fall to the Fourth Young Master."

The servants' words rang clear, as if they weren't afraid of Yohan hearing them. So... Yohan approached the group of servants gossiping about him.

"Care to repeat what you just said?"

The servants froze. Usually, the Mo Yohan they knew would leave with his head bowed. But this time, Yohan walked toward them and stared sharply, though a smirk played across his face.

"What do we do? The First Young Master seems angry," whispered another servant watching the scene.

"What can he do if he's angry? Even if he hits us, it won't hurt," another servant replied.

Soon they began laughing—not too loud, but enough for Yohan to hear.

Yohan smirked. One thing he understood in life: if no one else will defend you, you must defend yourself.

Shing!!

Yohan snatched a sword from one of the guard's waists and without hesitation slashed the servant who had insulted him first.

"Argh!!"

The servant bled from the middle of his stomach. Blood spurted like water from a broken faucet, pooling on the floor. The other servants nearby immediately stumbled back several steps.

There was no law against a master killing his servant, especially when Yohan was the first grandson of the Mo family. But considering Mo Yohan's behavior until now, no one ever imagined such an event would unfold before their eyes.

All the servants gasped, their eyes filled with fear as they stared at Yohan. No more mocking voices—only fearful hisses, worried Yohan might thrust his sword again.

"If I hear anyone speaking like that again, I won't hesitate to kill them. Remember that."

Yohan's voice was flat, cold, and cruel. The servants nodded while swallowing hard.

"Well, Big Brother, it seems you're in a bad mood today. Enough to break the rules and kill a servant so carelessly."

A young man arrived with a servant—or rather, someone who looked more like a bodyguard.

"Young Master, that's Mo Zhao, your second brother," Xu Chen whispered.

Yohan regarded Mo Zhao calmly. His second brother had a tall, large build—nothing like Mo Yohan's small frame that resembled a delicate young man.

Mo Zhao looked masculine. His bones and muscles were well-proportioned, his skin tanned from constant training. His face was cheerful, yet still showed disdain toward Yohan.

"Little brother, what are you saying? I was only trying to discipline the servants. Don't you know they insulted me?" Yohan said with a thin smile.

Mo Zhao frowned. It wasn't like Mo Yohan to talk so much. It wasn't like Mo Yohan to even dare look at him like this.

"So because they insulted you, Big Brother killed them just like that?"

Again, Yohan smiled, and this made Mo Zhao feel strange. That smile seemed to mock him.

"If they only insulted me, perhaps I wouldn't be angry. But I am part of the Mo family—the first grandson of Sword God Mo Zhihao and the first son of the mighty Mo Yulong. Insulting me is the same as insulting the entire Mo family."

What? Since when could he think so quickly? Mo Zhao thought.

Mo Zhao suppressed his anger. He wasn't skilled at debating. Mo Zhao's expertise lay in his physical prowess. Right now, he wanted nothing more than to punch his eldest brother's face. But he seemed to have lost any reason to do so.

"If Grandfather finds out about today, he'll definitely be furious."

Mo Yohan smiled while slowly stepping toward Mo Zhao. Seeing this, Lu Hanli—Mo Zhao's bodyguard—became alert. Mo Yohan still held the bloodied sword in his hand.

Mo Zhao glanced at his guard and signaled with his hand for him not to worry.

"What do you want to do?" Mo Zhao hissed when Yohan stopped in front of him.

Yohan raised his hand. "Do you have a handkerchief?"

Mo Zhao furrowed his brow further, and Yohan continued. "No? You should have said so. I need to clean this sword and this tense atmosphere. Grandfather and Father don't need to know about today, do they?" Yohan said with a cruel smirk on his face.

Not just the servants—Mo Zhao understood those words were a threat from Mo Yohan. Mo Zhao clenched his fists as Yohan smiled and walked away, leaving him behind.
