Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: How Could I Bear to Just Watch?

"Boom——Whoosh whoosh whoosh——!!"

In front of Zeig, intense flames erupted.

Even Kafka and Silver Wolf, as Stellaron Hunters, revealed solemn expressions.

The two women unleashed everything they had, pouring out a dazzling array of techniques against the monsters.

For a moment, the entire containment cabin section—inside and out—was filled with the incomprehensible roars of the Swarm.

"How thrilling," Zeig thought to himself.

At this moment, he was the most relaxed. He leaned back against the rear wall, somehow producing a bag of popcorn and leisurely munching on it.

While eating, he puzzled over something.

"Why are there so many monsters? When I played the game, I don't remember there being this many."

Zeig couldn't figure it out.

Though he hadn't played for long before transmigrating, he still remembered the beginner plot.

He definitely didn't recall starting off facing a million-strong army.

Could it be because of the Stellaron?

"No way."

He remembered that earlier, Kafka had struggled for ages to implant the Stellaron.

Only after it finally went in did the system awaken.

It might actually have something to do with the Stellaron.

After all, he had essentially cheated. It wouldn't be surprising if the Antimatter Legion called in more forces to nip him in the bud.

It was just a pity for Kafka and Silver Wolf.

Time passed like water in a toilet.

Press the button, and it comes fast—and goes just as quickly.

The two beautiful girls fought intensely for seven hours without a single break, leaving the entire containment cabin section battered and broken.

Zeig kindly held up a few snack bags and raised them toward the two women battling desperately in front:

"Are you thirsty? Want some water? Are you hungry? Want some popcorn? You…"

"Shush!" Silver Wolf cursed, her fingers flying across the holographic screen in front of her, summoning beam after beam of laser cannons that continuously blasted the endless waves of Swarm.

Then she suddenly turned her head and looked at Zeig: "Wait, where did you get all that food?"

From Silver Wolf's perspective, the snacks beside Zeig had piled up into a small mountain, and he was still chewing something.

"Oh, from your space. You forgot to close it earlier, and I was hungry, so I took some out."

Zeig casually tore open another chocolate bar and ate it without a care.

Silver Wolf: "Is it yours just because you eat it? Those are my snacks—don't eat any more!"

Zeig frowned: "I only just woke up not long ago, and I'm really hungry. Besides, other than eating snacks, what else can I do?"

Silver Wolf: "You won't lend a hand? Don't you know we're fighting because of you?! And you're just eating snacks?!"

Who's the real Stellaron Hunter here?

At that moment, Kafka—who had been weaving through the side, slashing at enemies—also glanced over.

Her voice remained lazy, as if the Antimatter Legion wasn't putting much pressure on her at all:

"Zeig, there's a metal rod beside you. Pick it up and help out."

Following Kafka's reminder, Zeig looked at the metal rod in the corner, falling silent for a moment.

Then he replied:

"Not really my thing. It's too ugly—fighting with it doesn't suit my status."

One second after he finished speaking, a pale blue beam shot toward him.

"Boom——!!"

The floor two inches in front of Zeig's crotch was scorched into charcoal by the laser.

Silver Wolf's scolding followed:

"You're something else, huh? Doesn't suit your status? What, are you a prince from some planet?"

Staring at the charred metal floor two inches in front of him, Zeig quickly shifted his body backward, his tone becoming much more sheepish:

"Haha, look at what you're saying—I didn't mean it like that." Zeig grinned and rubbed his hands together. "What I meant is, I'm too weak. I wouldn't be much help. Even if I joined in, I'd just get in the way and hinder your damage output!"

Though he said that, in his heart Zeig had already jotted Silver Wolf down in his little black book.

A man under the eaves has to bow his head.

But one day, if the chance arose, he would definitely make this girl taste his prowess.

"That's the right attitude~" Silver Wolf seemed quite satisfied.

The vast, overwhelming scene outside the containment cabin section also came into view for everyone at Herta Space Station.

March 7th, who had been planning to head there for support, was stunned.

She stared blankly at the pitch-black mass of Swarm outside, endlessly charging toward the containment cabin section.

Those that couldn't squeeze in from behind waited for the ones in front to die, then took their place.

"Are they… lining up?" March 7th's bell-like voice rang out.

Dan Heng stood beside her, frowning involuntarily: "It seems something in the containment cabin section is attracting them."

"Wait…"

In Dan Heng's line of sight, he seemed to witness an unbelievable scene.

Defending the containment cabin section were two Stellaron Hunters.

Kafka and Silver Wolf.

How could that be possible?

Even with all Dan Heng had experienced, he was somewhat baffled at this moment.

Why would Stellaron Hunters protect Herta Space Station?

Their figures easily darted through the Swarm—it was clear they weren't blocked and unable to retreat, but were genuinely protecting something.

Just what could it be that would make Stellaron Hunters go this far?

"Hey, Dan Heng, what are you looking at?!" March 7th patted Dan Heng's shoulder, interrupting his thoughts.

Dan Heng took a deep breath and pointed toward the two figures in the direction of the containment cabin section:

"Those are the Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf. They seem to be helping clear out the Swarm."

As soon as March 7th heard "Stellaron Hunters," she immediately perked up:

"Huh?"

Stellaron Hunters?

Aren't they the kind of people who love causing trouble? How are they helping now?

"It really is them?!" March 7th stared in surprise at the two figures. "Could it be… they're actually good people?"

Dan Heng shook his head and said earnestly:

"They might ally with us in the future, but for now… it's hard to say."

Perhaps because the battle in the containment cabin section was too intense.

Some Swarm in other cabin sections noticed and followed the main force, joining the long queues heading toward the containment cabin section.

An astonishing scene unfolded.

The queues were incredibly long, stretching from every entrance of the containment cabin section all the way into outer space.

The sheer volume of that pitch-black mass of Swarm was comparable to the entire Herta Space Station.

In the corridor, March 7th playfully asked Dan Heng's opinion:

"So, should we go help the Stellaron Hunters now? It looks like the fiercest fighting in the whole space station is over there."

After thinking for a moment, Dan Heng shook his head:

"No need. Although there are a lot of Swarm, they're Stellaron Hunters—they can handle it."

Gripping his spear tightly, Dan Heng slowly walked in the opposite direction:

"The priority right now is to rescue more researchers. They're ordinary people—we need to hurry."

March 7th nodded blankly.

"Oh, oh."

With light steps, she followed Dan Heng.

Though they didn't know who Kafka and Silver Wolf were protecting, at least the containment cabin section didn't need their concern.

Far away in the containment cabin section, Silver Wolf was constantly monitoring the surroundings.

The figures of March 7th and Dan Heng didn't escape her notice.

"Ah, the Astral Express crew suddenly left." Silver Wolf sounded a bit displeased.

If they had just come over, she and Kafka could have dumped Zeig on them and slipped away.

What's the meaning of leaving?

At this moment, deepest inside the containment cabin section.

Zeig sat on the ground, silently counting his slacking time while thinking about his next plans.

After pondering for a while, he seemed to have made up his mind.

"Hm? Why did he stand up?"

Under the attention of Kafka and Silver Wolf, Zeig stood up for the first time, a trace of determination appearing in his eyes.

'Has his conscience finally kicked in?' Silver Wolf guessed.

Then, Zeig's gaze burned brightly. Though his voice was low, it carried a resounding impact:

"Where's the bathroom? Did either of you bring any toilet paper?"
