Chapter 47 - 46. Light

Amon was lying in the back yard of the palace with both hands folded as a pillow, his gaze fixed on the bright sky without sunlight. Lost in thought, he wasn't sure what he was thinking about for quite a while, before turning to the side to look at Belphegor who was lying on his side with his eyes closed. "Why do you like sleeping so much? Doesn't your body get stiff?"

Belphegor didn't move for a moment and answered, "Waking up only makes me hear the noise and remember back to an annoying past. By sleeping, I can dream beautifully without limits."

"Pfft!" Amon sat up first before bursting into loud laughter, "Hhhaa...! Dream? You're so funny! Even if that dream really is beautiful..." His voice weakened.

"If it really is beautiful?"

"Ah, forget it." Amon stood up, bending his waist forward and backward — stretching. "I'm going to see Master."

Belphegor also stood up, "Yeah, since there's no war there's nothing to do anymore except occasionally seeing Master."

Amon nodded with both hands on his bare waist, patting his well-formed stomach in boredom, turning to look at the sky. At first those golden eyes were indifferent, the longer he looked, his brows furrowed, his face moved forward a little, and his eyes narrowed.

In the distance up in the sky a flash like a tailed meteor was shooting fast toward where he was standing. The longer it went, the more the fire flared, colored like that light. Amon remained silent, watching, while trying to guess. What kind of celestial object was about to fall?

"Amon, get out of the way!"

Belphegor slammed Amon's body backward, and he stood behind him with his arms crossed nimbly to withstand the fierce gust of wind and several stones that were thrown up when that thing crashed. His vision blurred because of the dust before becoming clear again.

Belphegor lowered both his hands, glanced at Amon behind him who was starting to walk closer to him, then looked fully forward again. That figure was surrounded by a group, maybe seven people, wearing bright white clothes without a single stain, with white angel wings, and a golden leaf crown on their heads. Each of them carried a golden trident.

"Archangels..." Belphegor said softly, and Amon heard it and guessed exactly the same. "Instead of coming to the upper world, they landed in the lower world?"

The group of seven angels walked forming a side-by-side line, opening a path for another figure behind them. With hair shining like sunlight, golden eyes, and white clothes with golden accessories from head to bare feet. His wings folded, disappeared, and then he walked slowly past the seven angels who bowed respectfully to him.

A cold wind seemed to blow as he stepped, making the two demons facing him wary. That figure stopped, looked at Amon and Belphegor with disinterest and asked, "Where is brother?" His voice really sounded ordinary, but it carried an immense pressure of holy light mana.

"Brother?" Amon didn't understand.

The fair-skinned figure who looked no more than fifteen years old snorted amusedly with both hands folded in front of his chest. "Take me to brother."

"Hey, kid. We don't even know who brother you're talking about." Amon was starting to get annoyed, about to point his war hammer before the seven archangels pointed their tridents at him.

That figure came closer, looking at Amon more closely, "Take me to see brother, or..."

"Or what?" Someone cut in from the side, together with five other people. "I thought there was a star falling in broad daylight, but it turns out creatures from the lowly world came uninvited." Karya's voice sounded displeased.

"The realm of the gods..." Lucifer's calm face changed to annoyance, full of hostility, and a burst of deathly aura now exploded around him.

The figure leading the seven archangels was confused, trying to guess who the one releasing the hostile aura in front of him was. "Who is he? So terrifying."

The seven archangels lowered their weapons from Amon, and one of them answered, "Lucifer, the fallen star from the faction of the highest archangels."

"Oh, that Lucifer." That figure bowed low with his back and his hands resting on his chest while saying, "I am Light, Junior God of Light. Nice to meet you all." He straightened again, glancing at another figure standing in the middle without any clear presence.

One corner of Lucifer's lips pulled into a smirk, "Even falling didn't make me weak. Dealing with you, even the entire faction of archangels, is not a difficult thing."

"You... are so arrogant!"

"Enough." Light raised his hand, "I didn't come here to fight, but to meet the brother that mother loves so much."

"You're rambling about brother again... Who exactly is your brother?" Amon was annoyed.

Light looked at each of them one by one before his gaze landed on Leviathan who was standing calmly among them. "Brother. He's my brother. I came to meet him on grandfather's orders." He pointed at Leviathan.

Lucifer, who understood, rounded his eyes perfectly, and quickly approached without caring about the seven tridents that were now turning toward him. "Are you..."

Light smiled calmly, "Yes. Just as you guessed, I am the second son of the Goddess of Light Aetheria and the God of Water. What's the problem with that? I only came to meet my brother, you know."

"Brother?" Leviathan started to approach, and Lucifer stepped back to give him way. He was now standing in front of Light, taller than him, making Light have to raise his face. "What do you mean by brother? I'm your brother? The Goddess of Light?"

Light stiffened in place as Leviathan approached, and several times he looked like he was holding back his fear of the cold aura pressing down. "Y-yes... That... we were born from the same mother."

"What do you mean?" Lucifer cut in, "How could she possibly have a child with someone else!"

Light looked at Lucifer, "Then, what if it's true? Mother married the God of Water, and I was born, Light, Junior God of Light."

"Then, where is she now?"

"Hm, where, huh..." Light tapped his chin. "I don't know either, you know. Since I was little I was raised in the heavenly palace by servants."

"You haven't answered my question." Leviathan spoke again, making Light look at him hesitantly again. "What do you mean by brother and Goddess of Light?"

"It's simple, bro. You are my half-brother from a different father."

"Goddess of Light?"

"Ah, you don't know, bro? Mother is the Goddess of Light who lost her authority and power because of her meaningless love with the Demon King."

The atmosphere became a little quiet, each of them keeping their shock to themselves in silence. Leviathan didn't show an excessive reaction, only silent, trying to understand what the young man in front of him said. However, Light's confession was still not a simple thing. Leviathan, the mother being the Goddess of Light and the father being the Demon King of the lower world? What actually happened in the past?

"Brother is so lucky to be loved by Mother so much, different from me. Even though... what's so great about you, bro? I'm a holy descendant of heaven, while you... have the filthy blood of the Demon King who turned this world into a sea of blood a hundred years ago."

"Watch your words, Junior God of Light, or I will..." Karya stopped speaking when Leviathan raised one hand as a sign for him to stop.

"What is your reason for coming and telling me that?" Leviathan asked calmly.

"I just wanted to meet my brother and..." Light turned to Matthius who was standing silently beside his younger brother with a face still shocked. "To confirm with my own eyes the recipient of the blessing of light from the heavenly world."

"Me?"

"Yes."

"What's wrong with me?"

"I'll train you to use light mana better than brother."

"Thank you. I refuse."

"What?"

"You don't know that monster's power, so it's natural you'd say that."

Light glanced displeased at Leviathan, "You're saying brother is greater than me? Hha..."

"If you don't believe it, then fine. Anyway, I refuse your offer. Thank you."

Leviathan glanced at Light's hand clenched tightly, "Don't think about it. Come, follow me."

"What do you want to do to me, bro?"

"What else?"

"Hah?"

Leviathan turned around, "You've come all the way here, don't you want to be hosted? Lucifer said today he'll be cooking the results of raising demonic cattle." His hands were folded behind his back as he walked slowly away.

"Brother... don't want to fight me?" Light asked hesitantly without looking at him, making Leviathan's feet suddenly stop.

"Didn't you say you're my brother? Then, why would I fight my brother who came all the way to meet me?" Leviathan turned around, with his gentle eyes he looked at Light as if there weren't many questions rumbling in his head.

"Weird." Even though reluctantly Light followed Leviathan, "I'll go on my own. You all can go back to grandfather." To the seven archangels he requested.

Lucifer watched the others leave in silence. Both his hands, his body, and his gaze. showed no interest, until the word 'grandfather' was mentioned by Light. "How many years has it been? How is that damn God now? Hha..." That laughter broke out softly in the now empty surroundings.
