Chapter 63 - Why Is This Class Change So Complicated?!

Back when this game was still running, it had a full-fledged cash shop system.

Especially during the closed beta, most rewards were locked behind gacha mechanics. Akira himself had only spent a little money—but even that "small top-up" had landed him something huge: the Byakugan.

Bloodline limits like that could be used by any class. The only difference was the type of energy consumed.

Pirates consumed stamina

Hunters consumed Nen

Ninjas naturally consumed chakra

In the game, the energy type didn't affect the Byakugan's basic functions.

However, it did matter when upgrading it into something higher—like the Tenseigan.

If the Tenseigan ran on stamina, over 90% of its skills were unusable.

If it ran on Nen, roughly half of them were locked.

Only the ninja system could fully unlock all of its abilities.

Of course, if you were willing to spend money, there was a solution.

Dual-class unlock.

As long as you opened the Ninja class as one of your two professions, the restrictions practically disappeared.

That was another reason Akira chose Hunter—because in a sense, he already counted as dual-class.

In the game, once you unlocked dual classes, the two energy bars merged into one. You could freely learn and use all skills from both professions.

The downside?

Experience.

EXP income was capped. Even if you paid to unlock content, everyone gained experience at roughly the same rate. Two classes meant splitting the same EXP pool to raise both.

For PvP, that was a disadvantage.

For gameplay variety, it was incredible.

For Akira, though—this wasn't a game anymore.

What two classes could become in the real world would depend entirely on how he developed them.

Aside from gacha and dual classes, there was one last major cash-grab in the game:

Premium professions.

Beyond Pirate, Ninja, and Hunter, there were two classes that only whales could unlock.

Akira's gaze fell on the final two black-and-white images—both grayed out and marked Unavailable.

The first showed a man in a black kimono, wielding a long blade, facing down a towering monster.

Above it were two words:

Shinigami (Death God)

A premium class.

Upon class change, it unlocked an energy called Reiatsu and came with a top-tier starting weapon: a Zanpakutō.

In the early game, Shinigami utterly crushed the three main classes.

Later on, due to balance adjustments, the gap evened out—but early dominance was unquestionable.

The corresponding region was the Land of Demons, where Shinigami-exclusive skills dropped, along with Zanpakutō growth materials.

Zanpakutō themselves weren't class-locked, but to obtain one, you had to defeat Huangquan, the vessel possessed by Mōryō.

To farm a Zanpakutō, you either had to:

Wait for the timeline to reach that arc, or

Personally arrange for someone to be possessed by Mōryō

The second grayscale image showed a man wreathed in flames, standing before a massive dragon.

Mage (Magic Caster)

Another premium class.

Upon unlocking it, you gained a Mana energy pool and started with the top-tier skill Dragon Slayer Magic.

Its corresponding drops came from Iwagakure—why the Stone Village was tied to mages, nobody knew.

Game logic.

Either way, it had nothing to do with Akira.

Without paying, both premium classes were locked to him.

"If I could change into Shinigami," Akira sighed, "I might even be able to remove the Caged Bird Seal."

The Death God class was ridiculously strong early on. The only downside was that its skills were hard to farm—you needed the Terracotta Soldiers of the Land of Demons.

He even remembered reading on the forums that the devs had once planned a Dragon Ball Fighter class.

But it was scrapped for being too broken and completely wrecking balance.

There were new classes planned for open beta, though.

Two names had been announced:

Swordsman

Curse User

The Swordsman's skills were already farmable in closed beta and weren't class-locked.

As for Curse User—it was still in development. Supposedly, there were places in the game where related drops existed, but none had been officially revealed.

Even the guides didn't mention them.

After reviewing all five classes, Akira made his choice.

Hunter.

The panel shifted.

Confirm class change to Hunter?

Yes / No

"Yes."

Class Change Quest Initiated

Please complete the class change quest within the time limit.

Failure will result in the loss of the Hunter class.

Akira froze.

"???"

Wasn't the quest system gone?

Why was this popping up now?!

He had been one step away from successfully changing classes—and this happened?

A task panel appeared before his eyes.

Class Change Quest:

Complete the Hunter Exam within one month.

Akira: "???"

Hunter Exam?!

He knew class changes required quests, but he'd never looked into the details. He'd been too busy focusing on drops and loot mechanics.

But where the hell was he supposed to take the Hunter Exam?!

This was the Naruto world, not Hunter x Hunter!!

"Sensei… what's wrong?" Nagato asked cautiously, seeing the anger on Akira's face.

Akira took a deep breath.

"It's nothing."

They were already close to Nagato's home.

"You're almost there. Go back yourself—I need to take care of something."

The system had just thrown him a massive curveball.

If he couldn't complete the class change, he couldn't remove the Caged Bird Seal.

If he couldn't remove the seal, escaping the Hyūga Main House's control was impossible.

That would completely ruin his plans.

Without another word, he turned and left.

Nagato watched his retreating figure, scratching his head in confusion.

"Did I… make Sensei mad somehow?"

Akira returned to the tower and immediately shut himself in his room.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, he frowned at the interface floating before him.

"How am I supposed to do this quest? Where do I even find the Hunter Exam?"

He tried speaking to the panel.

No response.

Not even an AI assistant.

Useless.

As he stared at the task description, the interface shifted again.

Begin Hunter Exam?

Yes / No

"…Don't tell me this means I'm going to transmigrate again."

Akira fell into deep thought.

If he was sent to another world, the consequences would be enormous—especially regarding time flow.

If time passed normally, it would directly affect his position in Amegakure.

Tomorrow, he was supposed to leave with Murakami Hana to meet Hanzo.

Hanzo was a pivotal figure in the Hidden Rain.

If Akira missed this chance, he might never get another one.

"…I'll shelve this for now."

Grinding his teeth, Akira chose not to accept the quest yet.

He still had a full month.

First, meet Hanzo.

Then, request some time off.

The world was in an eerie lull anyway—if he disappeared for a while, it wouldn't cause major ripples.

"Why didn't the game come with even a basic AI assistant…?"

Akira sighed in frustration.

At least the leveling system still worked. He could continue gaining levels without issue.

"Everything can wait until after I meet Hanzo."
