Chapter 2 - Part 2

It started choosing the multiverses it would head to, and finally, it picked one that caught its interest.

"This universe is pretty normal, but it's fine, I guess."

So it blasted off toward that universe at a speed way faster than light—many, many times faster. When it arrived, it also found a companion to help build the dream city it had in mind.

It went straight to a cheap apartment building, phased right through the wall, and appeared in front of the person it chose: a 25-year-old guy who was eating while staring at his iPad.

"Hello there, how you doing?"

"Yo, who the hell are you? Where'd you come from? And how can you even talk!?" —Naturlogy

"Isn't it normal for me to be able to talk?"

'Oh right… I forgot—this is a world where like 80% of humans have superpowers, there are hybrids, crazy advanced tech…' (thoughts shown with ' ')

"Anyway, why are you here and why pick me of all people?"

"Hoho, I chose you because you give off a really familiar vibe, kinda like someone I know. That's why I want you as my partner. And why I'm here? Because I feel like it, simple as that."

"Huh? But I'm just a total loser. What could I even help with? No powers, no talents, nothing…"

"Who said you have no talents? I see you've got a ton of knowledge about machines, engineering, AI, all that stuff—and even about the environment—while you're studying those exact fields."

"So… does that mean I can actually change my life? Escape this hellhole?"

"…" —kal'z

"That's exactly why I'm here. I'm gonna be the one who unlocks your potential, opens up a brighter path for you, right? :))"

"Now just agree and sign this contract, and you'll get everything."

'Hmm… something feels kinda off here. But anyway, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to escape all the suffering from shitty bosses, criminals, and those superpowered assholes.'

"I agree."

"Then sign it and we'll take off so I can give you the power."

—10 minutes later—

"Alright, done. Now let's shake on it."

They shook hands. A blindingly bright light exploded, covering the entire room. Everything turned pure white, no trace of reality left. Next thing they knew, they were floating right above that universe.

"Woaah, open your eyes and look! You've changed already. Feel stronger? Better? Taller?"

"I feel… ayo chill—why do I look like this!? My arms and legs are slimmer, skin's super white and smooth, I'm shorter, hair's longer… and why the hell did THAT disappear!?"

After receiving the power, he got brutally trolled: he had been turned into a girl for the next 24 hours before reverting back.

"So now I'm a girl, huh?"

"Yup, cutie~ I gave you exactly what you wanted. Now let's go!"

"Don't talk to me like that…"

On the way to kal'z mysterious dimension, he also noticed a few weird things.

'I've got heterochromia now— one eye blue, one green. Hair's the same, two-tone. Probably related to the power that cat gave me.'

"Hey, I still don't know your name. So far I only know you're a cat."

"Forgot to tell you. My name's kal'z. Nice to meet you, partner."

Finally, they arrived at that dimension. They immediately started planning: how to hollow out the massive tree trunk without it collapsing under the weight of everything above.

"We're here! Now you and I are gonna build a gigantic city inside that tree over there and make it awesome and lively."

"That super gigantic tree with no visible top, right?"

"Yeah, exactly. Let's get to work."

"But you still haven't told me what I'm supposed to do."

"Now you know."

"Fine, I'll do it anyway."

"First we need a blueprint—entrance gate, layout of the huge city. You're in charge of that part. I'll use my own power to make it all fit perfectly and match my vision."

"Me? How?"

"Easy. Just think about it and do some cool poses like in the movies or manga you love."

Naturlogy started thinking. The right half of his body (blue side), his eyes began glowing, sparks of electricity crackled. From that, he created a full 3D blueprint of the gate and the entire city—down to the tiniest details, how everything worked, and how to make it function.

"I did it! I'm going to build it now."

"Wait wait, you need materials first before you can create anything."

"Oh right. Where are they?"

"Here."

Kal'z clapped both paws together, sending out a massive shockwave across a huge area. Then it snapped its fingers behind its back—suddenly a mountain of refined, pre-transformed materials appeared.

"Thanks!"

"Good luck, partner."

"Mm."

He flew straight to a clear, convenient spot at the base of the tree—easy access in and out. With the blueprint and materials ready, he started building the gate.

He waved his hand, carving out a tall rectangular section in the trunk exactly where he wanted. Then he pointed, and a pile of unknown alloy turned into a massive frame. He placed it into the carved slot, pressed it in firmly, then created two gigantic alloy panels for the doors, connected them to the frame, and added some decorative lines.

After that, he shot out beams of energy, outlining all the future floors and sections he planned to carve inside the trunk. With just one thought, everything he marked vanished instantly. Then he paved the entire floor with stone, built roads, installed facilities, structures, everything.

—After 3 hours of building—

"Finally done. Let's see the result."

Right in front of him now stood a massive, ultra-modern city.
