Chapter 4 - Noah Blackwell

The visible vapor made contact with the hand, breaking the spell.

A burst of purple light spiderwebbed across the surface of the limb, still frozen in time.

Crack! Crack! Crackle!

Dried skin split open, flesh oozing with a fizzling viscous liquid, bones crunching, sickeningly loud.

The glowing cracks then spread from limb to limb, slowly spreading towards the main body of the Void Creature. The monster twitched and quivered, its eyes moving about erratically as if trying to escape its own body.

Yet it did not move, it couldn't move. It could only watch as the purple cracks spread, slowly coming for its main body like some unstoppable virus trying to take over its host, a parasite it could not get rid of.

The cracks reached the main body, purple light spilling out like water finding its way through the cracks in rock. There was only a look of anger, of defiance, before the powerful Void Creature fell apart.

Fell apart, as if it was nothing more than the pieces of meat scrap from a butcher's shop. Chunks of flesh fell from the sky, the pieces angular and clean like it was cut by a sharp knife. Every part of the creature's body came apart along the cracks that had formed.

SKREE!!

An ear piercing screech echoed through the land for a hundred miles, sending out shockwaves that shattered stones and reformed the terrain.

The chunks of flesh suspended themselves in the air, trembling slightly as they became deformed and viscous.

Abruptly, every piece of the Violet Titan gathered back together above the city, mending together and condensing to become thicker, stronger.

Noah watched silently as the monster mended itself into one fleshy meatball, floating about a mile above the city. Its size has decreased by around half, however its flesh seems more condensed now, not as flimsy as before.

The dozens of eyes scattered across the meaty surface turned their beady pupils towards Noah, stifling the air with electrical currents.

Without warning, beams of light shot from its eyes, moving much faster than its former tentacles as they twisted together into one. The man raised his right hand, his index finger slightly outstretched and enveloped in black smoke.

The collision was instant.

Noah stayed still, his finger still outstretched as it collided with the beam, scattering and refracting it around him. The scattered beams pierced the earth, digging deep trenches that stretched out for miles.

The beam thinned, its light dying as the force supplying it dissipated. The bright lights subsided, revealing an unharmed Noah, still perfectly still in the air, his finger slightly smoking from heat.

Raising his arm overhead, Noah pointed at the sky, his expression calm and composed. A purple light glinted in his eyes and black smoke billowed around him.

"Shadow Dominion: Sword Grave"

A black orb condensed in his hand, extending upwards into the shape of a sword blacker that the night sky. The darkness of the blade seemed to swallow all light, making the dim lights of the early hour even dimmer.

With light movements, he brought down his blade with grace, slicing soundlessly through the air. A quiet ripple in the threads of reality spread outwards, a quiet disturbance that made the Violet Titan widen its eyes even more in shock.

A guttural screech echoed from the center of the flesh blob as a think red line appeared from the top of the monster to the bottom. The next instant, the Violet Titan split cleanly into two, the cut revealing writhing masses of flesh inside.

In a desperate attempt to recover, the Violet Titan forced hands to emerge from the internals of its body, molded from its own flesh. They reached for their other halves, grabbing on to pull the halves back together.

Without warning, hundreds of holes appeared in the air above the Violet Titan, black and empty, as if leading to an empty void. From them emerged the tips of swords, eventually revealing blades that were larger in length than even public transport buses.

In an instant, the swords descended at supersonic speeds, slicing and piercing through the Violet Titan with ease. The monster's screeches echoed endlessly as a viscous green liquid flowed out of its wounds.

Its regeneration was finite.

Noah closed his eyes for a moment, before opening them to reveal pitch black darkness, a hollow gaze that chilled all whom he laid eyes upon. His vision, now completely black, revealed 6 violet lights in the distance, like stars or comets that shifted and moved constantly.

6 wisps of smoke left his body, swirling and condensing until they took on the form of a sharp needle, roughly 6 inches in length.

Eyes still shrouded in full darkness, Noah flicked his wrist, to which the needles flew out in response.

A shrill whistle sounded as the needles traversed through the air towards the Violet Titan. Now riddled with deep wounds, the monster seemed almost pitiful.

Sensing danger, the Violet Titan conjured up a purple energy barrier with the last bit of strength it had. The walls were translucent and thin, like the paper walls of the East.

Crack!

The needles broke through without slowing down, piercing 6 fist sized holes into the glass like barrier. There was no stopping them now from reaching the monster's star cores.

Digging trenches through the Titan's flesh, the needles each homed in on one of the star cores with pinpoint accuracy. The needles pierced through their targets within moments before turning into wisps of smoke that remained in the monster's body.

Noah raised an eyebrow when he saw that the lights had not been smothered, only becoming duller than before as the Violet Titan's body convulsed like a vat of bubbling water, threatening to spill over.

He reached out his finger once more, "Shadow Dominion: Shadow Garden"

The wisps of smoke inside of the Violet Titan due to the needles trembled slightly. Like vipers, they sprang towards the star cores and wound around them tightly.

A burst of purple light ensued as the smoke bloomed into purple flowers that illuminated the darkness. Panic quickly filled the Violet Titan as it tried to pull itself together, but its efforts were futile.

Noah's cold voice echoed across the destruction of their battle, "Full Bloom"

Six explosions resounded in quick succession, and through Noah's vision he could see the 6 specks of light scatter like fireworks, before being completely smothered out like a covered flame.

The life in the Violet Titan's eyes dimmed as it stopped squirming, falling down like a marionette with its strings cut.

A shockwave spread out as the monster crashed into the ruined city below, creating deep craters into the cement streets. The corpse laid there, completely unmoving after its source of power and life had been destroyed.

A monster that would have caused wanton destruction and killed thousands of Awakeners, rendering much of the land uninhabitable by life had been killed by a single individual.

Noah lightly tapped a small device attached to the collar of his trench coat. A blueish light turned on, as the device came to life.

"...This is Noah Blackwell, the subjugation of the Violet Titan has been completed"
