She put on the necklace. It sat elegantly on her collarbone, highlighting her flawless skin and delicate features. The gemstone sparkled against her fair complexion, accentuating her natural beauty.
Long Aotian couldn't help but admire the sight before him. His mother looked radiant, like a goddess from another realm. The necklace complemented her perfectly, bringing out the best in her already stunning features.
His heart swelled with pride and love. He had made the right choice. She deserved nothing but the finest.
"Beautiful," he murmured, unable to tear his gaze away.
His mother smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest at his compliment. She hadn't felt this beautiful in a long time.
"Thank you, son," she said softly, her eyes shimmering with gratitude. "You always know how to make me feel special."
Long Aotian nodded, satisfied with her reaction. He wanted her to feel cherished and valued. She was the most important person in his life, after all.
"Come, let's try out the watch," he said, taking her hand gently. "I want to see how it looks on you."
He helped her put on the watch. It fit perfectly on her wrist, complementing her elegant hands. The watch's intricate design and the subtle sparkle of its elements added a touch of sophistication to her overall appearance.
Long Aotian stepped back to admire the result. His mother looked stunning, like a queen adorned with royal jewels. The watch and necklace elevated her natural beauty, making her even more captivating. From a simple beauty, she looks more sophisticated and untouchable.
"You look amazing, mother," he said sincerely. "These accessories were made for you."
His mother laughed, feeling a mix of happiness and embarrassment. She wasn't used to receiving such lavish compliments, especially from her own son.
"Stop teasing me," she said playfully, swatting his arm lightly. "You're going to make me blush." Her cheeks were indeed flushed, a sign of her flustered state.
Long Aotian grinned. He enjoyed seeing her so happy and carefree. It warmed his heart to know that he was the reason behind her joy.
"I'm not teasing," he said, shaking his head. "I'm just stating the truth. You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. If I was older, I would have married you." His tone was sincere, filled with genuine admiration.
His mother's face turned even redder, her heart racing at his words. She hadn't expected such a bold compliment from her son, especially one that made her feel so cherished.
"Son, you're making me uncomfortable," she said, trying to deflect his praise with a nervous laugh. "I'm not used to such compliments." She fiddled with the necklace subconsciously, her eyes avoiding his gaze.
Long Aotian noticed her discomfort and decided to change the subject. He didn't want to make her feel uneasy. He was merely testing the water. He didn't wished to ruin the relationship they had now.
"Alright, alright. Let's talk about something else," he said, clearing his throat. "How was work today?" he asked, steering the conversation towards a more neutral topic.
His mother sighed in relief, grateful for the change in topic. "It was the usual," she replied, settling into a more comfortable conversation. "Just the daily routine at the office. Nothing exciting happened."
Long Aotian listened attentively, happy to hear about her day.
After listening to her words, he finally spoke. "Mother, I have purchased the villa near the mountains, and we should live there from now on. I have paid one and a half billion for it. It would be a waste not to live there..."
He didn't want to hide it.
His mother's eyes widened, her mouth agape. "One and a half billion!?" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Son, that's such a huge amount! Are you sure you weren't tricked?" She couldn't fathom how he could spend such an enormous sum of money. It was beyond her comprehension.
Long Aotian reassured her with a smile. "Don't worry, mother. I can afford it. I don't want you to live in a shabby house anymore. You deserve a better life."
His mother shook her head, still trying to process the information. "But... but that's too much. We don't need such a luxurious place," she argued weakly. She had always been content with their simple life. A mansion seemed excessive to her.
Long Aotian frowned, his gaze softening as he looked at his mother. He knew she was hesitant due to her modest nature.
"Mother," he said gently, taking her hands in his. "I understand your concerns, but I have already purchased it, it's only natural for us to move there. Also, you should not leave your current job. I can take care of you now." He said firmly.
His mother bit her lip, her eyes filled with conflicted emotions. Part of her wanted to refuse, but another part of her wanted to accept her son's generosity.
"But... but I can't just quit my job. I need to work," she stammered, her tone filled with uncertainty.
Long Aotian's expression softened further. He understood her reluctance to rely on him. She had always been independent, and this sudden change was overwhelming for her.
"It's okay, mother. You can continue to work if you wish, but you don't need to," he said reassuringly. "I just want you to be happy and live a comfortable life. You've worked hard enough. It's time for you to relax and enjoy the fruits of my labor."
His mother remained silent, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts. On one hand, she wanted to continue working to maintain her independence. On the other hand, the idea of living a comfortable life without the stress of her job was tempting.
Long Aotian could see her internal struggle. He decided to make one last appeal.
"Think about it like this," he said softly. "If you continue to work, you can use the time to learn new skills or pursue your hobbies. You'll have the freedom to do whatever makes you happy."
He paused, letting his words sink in.
"And at home, you'll have all the luxuries you deserve. A beautiful garden, a private pool, a spacious living area. You can spend time alone. It's your choice." He added, painting a vivid picture of the life that awaited her.
His mother took a deep breath, weighing her options carefully. Living alone sounds bad.
Seeing her expression, he knew she wouldn't accept it.
"It's alright mother, we can move there and you can continue your work, however, for a few days just take a break."
He said in a soft tone.
His mother nodded.
She hadn't taken a proper break in years. The thought of having some time off was actually quite appealing.
"Alright," she finally relented with a soft smile. "I'll take a short break from work. But just for a few days. I'm not used to being idle for too long."
Long Aotain felt relieved. He was happy that he could convince his mother without too much difficulty.
The matter is settled.
"Anyway, Mother I am hungry... What are you making for dinner?" He asked in a teasing tone. He had been busy all day and hadn't had a proper meal yet.
His mother chuckled, feeling more at ease now that the serious conversation was over. "Well, since you're so rich now, why don't you treat us to a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant?" she teased back, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Long Aotain laughed. "Sure, why not? It's been a long day. We deserve a treat." He agreed readily, already imagining the delicious food they could enjoy.
His mother smiled warmly, feeling grateful for her son's thoughtfulness. Despite his new wealth, he remained humble and considerate. She couldn't ask for a better son.
"Yes, let's go out and celebrate. You've worked hard, and now you can finally enjoy the rewards," she said, patting his hand affectionately. "I'm proud of you, son."
Long Aotian's heart swelled with warmth at her praise. Coming from his mother, those words meant the world to him.
