Cyrus realized it was time to leave. He checked the system's probability calculation regarding the likelihood of Anakin falling to the dark side. After confronting Palpatine and the Jedi Council, leaving the Jedi Order, and Padme's agreement to marry him, the probability of falling had dropped to 33%. There's no way that he would ever get probability down to zero. Anakin has to do some work too; Cyrus can't fix all of his problems. If Anakin isn't part of the change, then once Cyrus leaves, the old Anakin will likely return.
After meditating and communing with the soul of Anakin Skywalker, he could feel a change. The trauma caused by Anakin's life experience was greatly healed. It wasn't fixed; you can't fix trauma, but it wouldn't control him anymore.
The prospect of marriage to Padme and having a real family for the first time in his life filled him with hope.
Examining the stats, store, income sections, and missions tab of his system panel, Cyrus had completed his mission and then significantly exceeded it. It was the redemption of Anakin Skywalker that earned a higher mission ranking. He earned an SS ranking, his previous rewards: Force User (all Universes), Lightsaber, Jedi knowledge and skills, droid blueprints, blaster blueprints, Anakin's mechanical aptitude, were acquired, but that left a great overage of potential rewards. He could choose even more rewards exclusive to the Star Wars universe, convert the rewards for system points that he could use to spend in the store, or save his rewards for another universe.
Something that complicated his ability to choose was the discovery of an inventory. The inventory allowed him to objects and carry objects from one universe to another. There were 10 slots available, and for each of the slots, he could place a minimum of 10 of the same object in that slot. However, if it has a smaller volume, it could be possible to store more.
According to the system, he was restricted by the size of the object. He couldn't store ten starships, for example. He had a maximum storage amount of 64 cubic feet.
Doing research, he acquired the following technology and filled all ten slots:
Slot 1: Eight R2 astromechs, each unit could serve as a personal assistant, mechanic, slicer, or field scout when activated.
Slot 2: Two Droidekas, folded into their compact rolling forms and held in reinforced stowage.
Slot 3: A cache of kyber crystals: 2,740 small shards and 1,830 standard cores. These would one day serve as the heart of new lightsabers, Force artifacts, or other energy-focused devices.
Slot 4: Compact armorer's bench, folded neatly for transport. Inside were precision vibro-tools, a miniature plasma torch, a small heat-treatment chamber, and calibration rigs for blasters and energy weapons. He could fashion new armor piece by piece, modify his blasters, or assemble specialized gadgets for personal use.
Slot 5: Droid construction and repair frame. Foldable and efficient, it could cradle an R2 unit, a Droideka, or other compatible droids while he aligned servos, motivators, and memory cores.
Slot 6: The central knowledge hub, a repository of schematics, blueprints, and reference material. Droid designs, blaster blueprints, armor schematics, Bacta cultivation protocols, and kyber crystal applications contained the "how-to" for every item he carried.
Slot 7: This slot held his portable Bacta cultivation module. A small bioreactor with nutrient chambers and automated harvesting systems allowed him to grow medical-grade Bacta in limited quantities. A miniature testing chamber ensured its potency, and interfaces allowed R2 units to monitor the process precisely.
Slot 8: It contained his personal power generation and energy fabrication tools. A compact fusion generator provided a steady energy source, while precision molds and stabilizers allowed him to fabricate and recharge power cells for blasters, armor, and droids.
Slot 9: Reserved for rare, irreplaceable components. Small quantities of beskar plates, phrik weave, shield emitter cores, and advanced sensor processors were meticulously stored here.
Slot 10: Raw materials for armor, personal gear, and experimental devices. Sheets of plasteel, blocks of durasteel.
Cyrus asked Master Yoda for permission to take a Jedi holocron that could guide him in the light side of the force, and he agreed. Yoda picked out something he thought would be very beneficial. This was not for him; this was for Anakin. It was his final gift and his final defense against the darkness within Anakin. The Lars family had decided to move to Naboo. It was safer, and as the in-laws of Padme Amidala, they wouldn't struggle to find their place.
Anakin and Padme were prepared to retire to the countryside, living in the same area as Padme's family. The Lars also bought a place.
The wedding and celebration are being planned, but the young couple decided to make it an intimate affair with very few guests. On Padme's side were her parents, siblings, close friends, and, of course, her body doubles. For Anakin, there was the Lars family, including his mother. Several Jedi Masters were invited, including the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was officially installed as a member of the Council. Master Mace Windu, Yoda, and other Masters, Knights, and Padawan learners.
The wedding was not for Cyrus; it was for Anakin. Despite his meticulous planning and thinking the system caught a miscalculation of his request for rewards. A long-held theory held by Cyrus was that part of the problem of using the Force was that the will of the Force was dictated to individuals and communicated with midichlorians. These were simple sentient beings, but not capable of complex thought. They were almost binary in that they were either calm and peaceful or aggressive. Cyrus never thought that was a coincidence.
So he was able to get the universal or multiversal usage of the force without being affected by the midichlorians, whether he did good or bad; that was his free choice, not the choice or the confusing blend of the will of the midichlorians with his own will. There's really nothing left to do but leave and go to his new home
Cyrus took a deep breath. He hadn't lived in this world long, but he was going to miss it. He brought up his system panel and clicked the choice to return to his home. The transition was immediate.
However, to Cyrus's surprise, when he woke up, his body ached as if somebody had stabbed him. He took a deep breath and heard the clang of swords. He pulled out the sword that he found running through him.
Stunned as information ran through his mind, memories, his memories. He didn't understand it yet and didn't have time to think about it, but somehow, Cyrus Alexander had a history in this world from birth to his current age of 25. It wasn't some other person by that name, but his own. He looked exactly like he did on his Earth, only more fit.
The sound of clanging metal grew louder. He turned to follow the sound and saw a large man in a business suit swinging a large saber, fighting a beautiful woman with black hair and familiar features.
Realizing who the woman was and seeing that the man was about to decapitate her, Cyrus yelled out, "Mother!"
He leapt to his feet and froze the man's arm in mid-motion using the force. Amanda, his mother, fell to the ground and closed her eyes when she thought it was the end. Cyrus ran towards her attacker and attacked. They exchanged a series of blows with one another, but the nameless immortal couldn't win against Cyrus' Jedi powers and skills. He quickly dispatched the immortal by taking his head.
The immortal's body collapsed on the ground, and energy began to pour out, surrounding Cyrus, infiltrating his body. He couldn't move; his entire body was spasming. The knowledge of the dead immortal, wisdom, experiences, personality, quirks al, and his very essence was now part of Cyrus.
Experiencing the quickening for the first time felt like it took ages, but it only been a couple of minutes. When it was over, Cyrus collapsed to the ground. He struggled to find his breath, and then his mother came up and put her arms around him, holding him.
"Cyrus, Cyrus, are you okay?" Amanda fearfully clutched her son.
"I'm fine, Mom, what happened?"
"This man broke into our home. I think he was here to kill you and take your quickening, but first, he had to kill you so that you have your first death. That's when I discovered him here. I just came back a few minutes ago, and this man was about to take your head. I challenged him and fought him, but I was about to lose, and then you appeared.
"I can feel it, this man was well over 2,000 years old; he has lots of memories, and I'm trying to sort them out. Amanda Darrieux understood she was over 1,100. She had taken the heads of some immortals over the years who weremuch older than her. It always took a while to get your bearings after a massive quickening like that.
After a few minutes, Cyrus finally said to his mother, "I'm immortal like you?"
Amanda admitted it, "Yes, just like me, and now that you have become an immortal, you're part of the game, and need a teacher."
"Why can't you be my teacher?"
"How can I be your teacher? I'm your mother. Besides the kind of fighting I do, my style wouldn't fit you. Don't worry, I already have somebody in mind."
"Who?"
"You don't know him, his name is Duncan, he's a great warrior, a little over 400 years old, almost half my age. He's still managed to take the heads of immortals that would be impossible for me."
"Wait, is he your on-again, off-again boyfriend, you're always talking about?"
"He's more like the closest thing that I'll ever have to a husband, and the closest thing you'll ever have to a father."
"Does he feel the same way about you?" Cyrus looked curiously at his mother.
He knows I have a son, but he doesn't know anything more than that. You've never met each other.
I've always known that you are Immortal, you told me that, but can you tell me what this means for me, being part of the Game?
"It means that your life is now ruled by a life where you survive by taking the head of other immortals, but there can only be one winner. You cannot fight on holy ground. Be aware that everything you do from now on will be recorded by Watchers. They're a human organization. Duncan't current watcher, Joe, can barely follow him around. He's gotten old. I like Joe, but I don't like the Watchers."
"Where have you been for the last 5 years?"
"I went on a little trip to a few of my favorite places."
"You said you'll be right back, I didn't know if someone took your head or anything!"
"I was only going 5 years for someone alive for about 900 years, that's like blinking."
"Yeah, well, until a few minutes ago, I was a mortal. Five years is a long time to not see or hear from your mother."
"That is so sweet, you missed me so much."
"Of course, I missed you, but I would like to know why you've been gone so long. Why didn't you ever call or write to me?"
Amanda refused to explain anything.
"When can I meet Duncan?"
"It depends on where he is. If he's in the states then either he will come to us or we'll go to him. If he's somewhere in Europe, then perhaps he can come and see us soon.
"Fine, let me know. I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed. Being stabbed to the chest is not fun."
"Tell me about it," Amanda watched her precious son head upstairs to bed.
"He left me to clean up this brute…love can be such a hassle sometimes."
