As soon as Shreya entered the hospital room, she saw that Jun was getting ready to leave. Seeing him about to go, she asked nervously,"Big brother… nothing will happen to Mom, right?"
Jun stopped. He turned back and gently placed his hand on Shreya's head.
"No," he said, trying to sound calm.
"Don't worry. She'll get better soon."
Shreya slowly nodded. Jun left the room. Outside the hospital, it was still raining. Jun stood there for a moment, looking up at the sky.
Maybe he wasn't looking at the rain. Maybe he was trying to hide his tears in it. After a while, he stopped a cab and headed straight to Mika's house.
From the cab window, the city looked blurred and distant. When Jun reached Mika's house, he noticed that the interior looked more like a laboratory than a home. Machines, Tools, and Screens.
Mika's father, Frank, was working on something. He was a scientist by profession, someone who worked on new technology and inventions. As soon as he saw Jun, Frank stopped what he was doing.
"Mika has told me everything," Frank said,"About your situation."
Jun remained silent.
"Son, I didn't want to involve you in all this," Frank continued,"But when it comes to Mika's stubbornness, neither I nor anyone else can stop her."
Jun asked quietly,"What do you mean?"
Frank answered directly.
"She wants you to go with her to Icolis."
For a moment, Jun couldn't even process the words.
"Icolis," Frank explained,"is one of the two moons of Earth Elysira."
Jun was still in shock.
Frank continued, "Don't worry. You can bring back whatever you want from there. I don't need anything. You can sell what you bring and arrange money for your mother's treatment."
It was too much for Jun to take in. Just then, footsteps echoed behind him. Jun turned around.
Mika was walking toward them, wearing a high-tech suit that fit tightly around her entire body. Jun was about to say something
"Dad, he's going with me," Mika answered on his behalf.
