Synopsis
In the peaceful, magic‑filled kingdom of Ayetoro, every family serves a god, a spirit, or a secret power. Among them stand two mighty houses: the thunder‑wielding warriors of the Koleoso clan and the river‑blessed seers of the Ifatedo family. At the heart of Ifatedo is Baba Adégbáyí, the great priest whose counsel even the king obeys. His youngest child, Ifabola, is only five when Ayetoro’s peace shatters. The king is found dead in his bed—no wounds, no poison, no struggle. Only one thing marks his body: a single name written on his chest in blood. EJEH. No one knows what it means. The oracles are troubled. The spirits are silent. As fear spreads through the kingdom, strange signs begin to follow Ifabola—whispers in river water, flickers of light no one else can see, dreams of a shadow calling her by a name she does not know. To uncover the truth behind the blood‑written name, Ifabola must walk a path woven with witches, warriors, forgotten gods and a war that began long before she was born. And the smallest child of Ayetoro may be the one on whom all their destinies depend.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - IFABOLA: DAUGHTER OF THE GREAT PRIEST

In the village of Ayetoro, from sunrise to sunset, the people lived with a very unique power. In those days, having and using power was a great blessing; every compound possessed its own particular kind.

Some worshipped Sango, Oya, Obatala and Ifa. During cultural festivals the air was always filled with different kinds of magic that you would never imagine.

On a quiet side of the village stood an ancient house. Elders said it had been there for more than a million years. It belonged to the Koleoso family and was known as the house of the greatest power.

The Koleoso family were very brave and strong. They worshipped the oracle of Sango and served many powerful spirits.

In another part of the village lived the Ifatedo family, known for worshipping the gods of the river and the white witches. The Ifatedos were very powerful people; their words were filled with wisdom. Through light and darkness they stood strong. Whenever any problem disturbed the kingdom, they were the ones who consulted the oracle.

When war came, the Ifatedo family always fought beside the Koleoso family. Together they were known as the greatest warriors of Ayetoro Kingdom. They fought many battles and always returned victorious.

The two families lived side by side for generations.

In the vibrant kingdom of Ayetoro, many peaceful years passed. There was no war, no fighting; everywhere was filled with joy and happiness. In the market square people laughed and bargained over their goods, and everybody bought and sold in peace.

Each night fell gently, adding another happy memory for the people of Ayetoro. Everyone lived the life of their dreams—until one morning.

People woke up and began their usual daily routines when, all of a sudden, they heard the sound of the town crier's gong. Everyone left what they were doing to listen to what the man had to say. Some people even whispered:

"Didn't you hear that sound? Maybe the town crier wants to announce something," one woman said.

"It had better be something good," another replied.
