The school bell rang, signaling closing time, and students poured out of their classrooms in waves.
Jack calmly walked out with the crowd and headed towards the junior section of the school.
The school was divided into two sections, the senior and junior sections.
The senior section is for students between the ages of 13 - 15 who are close to the age of awakening the power armor.
The junior section is for people aged 6 - 12.
The junior section was just a few blocks away from the senior section, with a gate serving as a demarcation with the word junior section written on it.
Jack stood outside the junior section's gate waiting for someone to come out.
"Hey Leslie, walk faster, I don't have all day, " a guy's urgent voice sounded within the junior school's gate.
Jack unbothered as what was happening wasn't his business, he didn't bother sparing a glance towards the direction of the voice.
He was standing casually when someone's shoulder roughly brushed against his.
"Are you blind or something, don't stand on the road," the person snapped angrily at him.
Jack frowned. This wasn't his fault, as he wasn't even standing on the road to begin with.
He lazily looked at the figure who was still complaining by the side.
"You", the guy stifled for a bit, he immediately pulled his sister and walked away without another word.
Why would he react like that?.
The answer was simple: the guy's name is Jeffrey, and he is in the same class as Jack.
This Jeffrey was a guy who was fond of picking on silent people in the class, and Jack was a totally silent boy at school; he even earned his nickname, anti-social, making him the perfect victim.
Well, let's just say things didn't go well for Jeffrey as his plan backfired.
Jack was born with a very tough body, his body was packed with abs, and he took pleasure in training his body.
He easily overpowered Jeffrey and his friends, then he walked them to the front of the classroom and made sure they apologized to everyone.
At that moment people knew not to mess with the antisocial guy.
The parents of his victims came to report, and Jack earned a week of suspension, making his mother really mad at him.
Jack sighed as these memories flashed back in his head.
If Jeffrey had looked closely, he would have recognized Jack, because his jet black hair had a hint of white on the lower parts, which was very distinct.
His mother's hair was fully white, and so was his sister's, but his was mainly black with a hint of white around.
Jack was still thinking when a sleek black car pulled up at the school's main entrance.
His fists subconsciously tightened and a deep frown formed on his face.
He was familiar with this car; this was the car that always dropped off a girl who was in his class at school, and it also came to pick her up during the closing hour.
He hates the owner of this car who is the girl's father.
He hates the man who's always dressed in a suit and always accompanies this car, probably to keep the girl safe.
He hates them all, including the girl because they were the reason his father died a few years ago.
He could clearly remember his father begging them for something, but they refused to help, which was normal since it's their choice, but he didn't see any reason for the girl's father to kick his father in the face.
The others watched, doing nothing.
The man who always accompanied the car was a warrior whose duty was to protect everyone.
Yet they didn't even spare his father a glance, leaving him to the attacking beasts.
All of them contributed to my father's death; they shouldn't dare forget that retribution is coming. I am going to seek revenge, no matter how long it takes...
Suddenly, Jack felt someone jump on his back, pulling him out of his swirling thoughts.
Jack could feel the person's steady breathing against his ears. He instinctively steadied himself, allowing the person to balance properly on his back. With a smile, he began to walk forward.
"How many times have I told you not to jump on my back without my permission", Jack said pretending to be angry
"Hmph, are you telling me you are angry? Why would I need permission to jump on my brother's back" Emma said grumpily.
"Of course not, why would I be angry at my baby sister?" Jack replied, laughing.
"How many times have I told you not to call me baby again?" Emma grumbled.
"Are you not my baby sister?"
"Shut up!", Emma slammed her legs on Jack's side angrily.
"Ouch!"Jack cried out in pain.
"Stop pretending you felt that, I know you have a tough body", Emma shouted.
"Alright, you caught me", Jack replied and they burst out laughing as they walked home.
...
70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, a girl continued counting and a boy's panting could also be heard.
"80", Emma said and Jack stopped moving.
"Why did you stop doing the push-ups?" Emma complained.
"Get down from my back, you know my current limit with you sitting on my back is 80", Jack complained.
"Hmph, lazy boy complaining just because I sat on his back when he's doing common push-ups", Emma hissed as she got off his back.
Jack didn't bother replying, he just walked into the bathroom to take a shower.
Not long after Jack returned to the living room, his gaze landed on the wall clock.
"Shit! If I waste more time, mom's break will be over, and she won't be able to eat and would have to resume working", Jack muttered as he hurried into the kitchen to prepare the food he was taking to his mother at her workplace.
"Emma, go get dressed. Once I'm done in the kitchen, I'm going to Mother's workplace, and I won't wait for you", Jack shouted from the kitchen.
"You wouldn't dare!", Emma screamed from their room.
A few minutes later, Jack was already on his way to his mother's workplace, which was a small factory.
Emma skipped happily ahead of him.
As they approached the factory, a smile bloomed on their face as they could see their mother sitting outside the factory with her white hair flowing freely in the wind.
"Mommy!!", Emma screamed, and she ran towards her mother, who also smiled as she sighed her children.
Jack smiles as he approaches his mother and sister.
These were the only two people that currently mattered to him in this life, and he was willing to sacrifice anything to see both of them smile.
