Chapter 51 - Stillness Before the Kill

The remaining thugs rushed in, and Jessica Jones charged straight into them like a tiger among sheep.

Antony's special training had been brutal—but the results were undeniable. She was faster now. Sharper.

Before, she'd relied on raw strength and wild swings. Now she knew how to use the least amount of force to cause the most damage.

One thug tried to sneak up from behind, a knife flashing toward her neck.

Jessica didn't even turn around.

It was as if she had eyes in the back of her head. She casually backhanded him.

Smack!

The man spun through the air like a top, slammed into the wall, and got wedged into the brickwork so tightly that even gravity couldn't pull him out.

She moved through the crowd with fluid precision—every motion smooth, every strike violent yet beautiful.

Two minutes.

That was all it took.

The floor was littered with groaning bodies.

Only one man remained—hands shaking as he aimed a large-caliber energy cannon at her.

"D–Don't come any closer!!"

Jessica stopped. She adjusted her breathing.

She didn't rush him.

Instead, she glanced at Dave and gave him a look.

Dave instantly understood. The camera zoomed in, framing her face in a tight close-up.

Jessica slowly raised one hand and made the gesture Antony had taught her—one palm upright, gently pressing downward.

Calm. Commanding. Masterful.

"Put the weapon down," she said evenly.

"Or I start breaking bones."

The thug dropped the gun immediately and threw himself to the ground, hands over his head.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

Heavy footsteps echoed.

From the shadows emerged a massive figure.

Orville Black.

Codename: Bonechewer.

He was far more horrifying in person.

Over two meters tall. Muscles bulged grotesquely, swollen like tumors. His skin glowed a molten black-red, veins pulsing blue across the surface. His bloodshot eyes rolled wildly, drool spilling from his mouth.

He looked like something that had crawled straight out of hell.

"Huuungry… hungry…"

Bonechewer locked onto Jessica and let out a guttural snarl.

"Wow," Jessica deadpanned. "You're ugly. Your mom must really love you."

"DIE!!!"

Bonechewer charged.

His speed was completely disproportionate to his size—fast as a runaway tank.

Jessica instinctively raised her arms to block.

BOOM—!!!!

The impact felt like being hit by a fully loaded freight train.

Even with the bracers absorbing force, the sheer kinetic energy blasted her backward. She smashed through a brick wall, crushed a generator, and finally skidded into a heap of scrap metal.

"Cough—!"

Jessica spat blood.

"Fuck… this thing hits hard, huh?"

Her current strength cap was around twenty tons.

That charge alone had easily hit thirty.

Bonechewer didn't give her a second to recover.

He grabbed a forklift weighing several tons and hurled it at her like a toy.

"Shit!"

Jessica rolled desperately.

CRASH!

The forklift cratered the ground.

Bonechewer leapt after her, massive hands swinging down like sledgehammers, tearing the air apart.

Jessica could only defend. Against this monster, brute force was useless—meeting him head-on would only get her killed.

Bam! Bam!

A punch clipped her shoulder. White-hot pain exploded through her body.

"Where you gonna run, little turkey…" Bonechewer mocked, grabbing her arm shield.

He flung her away like a rag doll.

She slammed into a pillar, organs rattling.

In the distance, Dave's hands were shaking—but he didn't stop filming.

Film it. Film everything. We need despair. We need stakes.

Jessica struggled to rise.

Bonechewer loomed over her, fists raised high, ready to finish it.

"So… guess I gotta drink that green nightmare after all?"

Her hand moved toward the T-VEX at her waist.

"No."

That blond bastard's voice echoed in her mind—clear as the training room.

Your heartbeat's too fast, Queen.

Calm down.

Empty your mind. Like water…

Be water, my friend.

Jessica's hand left the vial.

She exhaled slowly.

In that instant, the chaos around her vanished.

She watched Bonechewer's fists descend.

Fast.

But to her…

They slowed.

"Aikido…"

Jessica lifted her head. Panic was gone—replaced by absolute calm.

Click—!

She crossed her arms over her chest.

Vibranium bracer mode: shift!

A silver round shield assembled instantly.

Bonechewer's fists slammed into it.

CLANG—!!!!

A deafening metallic roar shook the warehouse.

At the moment of contact, Jessica bent her knees, twisted her waist—her body rotating like a precision bearing.

Force redirection.

The shield's curved surface and her rotation guided Bonechewer's power aside.

His center of gravity collapsed.

The massive body pitched forward.

"Now!"

Jessica's eyes flashed.

Use their force against them!

She stepped into his space.

The shield retracted—then surged upward, driven by her rotating core.

Bonechewer's own momentum, combined with her twenty-ton burst—

The shield edge slammed cleanly into his jaw.

CRACK!!!

Bone shattered.

His head snapped back, teeth and black blood spraying into the air.

"AAGGHH—!!"

Bonechewer staggered, screaming.

"Not done yet!"

Jessica pressed the attack.

The shield dissolved. Her hands became open palms.

Wild Horse Parts the Mane!

Her left palm deflected his desperate counterstrike.

Her right hand chopped down like a blade, smashing into his throat.

"Gkk—!"

Bonechewer clutched his neck, voice gone.

Single Whip!

Jessica spun—her left arm whipping around like steel, smashing into his temple.

BAM!

The monster's balance finally shattered.

The mountain of flesh collapsed.

Dust exploded outward.

"Final strike!"

Jessica leapt, core tightening midair. Bracers reformed as twin shields, her body drawn taut like a bow.

Gravity.

Momentum.

Double-shield impact.

SPLAT—!!!

The shield edge crushed into the joint between neck and shoulder.

Bones snapped—loud and unmistakable.

Bonechewer's roar cut off instantly.

His massive body twitched… then went still.

Dave was shaking with excitement.

"T–That was perfect! Front page material—guaranteed!"

Jessica stood over the fallen monster, breathing hard.

She stared at her hands, disbelief flickering across her face.

A grin tugged at her lips.

"That asshole…" she muttered. "Guess his training really works."

"…Mo… mo…"

Suddenly, Bonechewer's hand shot out and grabbed her ankle.

The monster wasn't dead yet. His vitality was terrifying.

"What?" Jessica frowned, looking down at him.

"What are you trying to say?"
