Chapter 1 - THE HOUSE OF THORN

I should never have shown up here.

Casa Thorn towered over me like a bigger shadow.it is a massive empire that dominates fashion, beauty and design. For the past three years working here as a PR/Marketing Coordinator had been my dream Competing with over 200 applicants and winning this position made me prouder than I can even say.

You might be wondering what makes Casa Thorn so special let me tell you.

Fifteen years ago a 22-year-old man named Alexander Thorn fresh out of marketing school with no background in fashion or beauty had a business idea.He didn't have all the answers only an idea and the determination to make it real. Now that vision has grown into a company known across continents.

I've read stories of celebrities wearing his designs magazines praising the beauty and quality of his jewelry and beauty products that constantly set trends. His fashion shows are the talk of the industry drawing critics and fans alike while his spa and wellness centers attract clients who expect nothing but perfection.

Casa Thorn doesn't just follow trends it creates them. The company has popular launched collaborations with world-class designers and even funded scholarships for young creatives trying to break into fashion and beauty. Every corner of the brand screams creativity, passion and luxury.

Walking through the offices I could feel it. The drive, the attention to detail, the talent it all reflects Alexander himself Every campaign on the walls every product in the showroom every award shining under the lights tells a story of ambition and brilliance Employees move with purpose yet there is this unmistakable respect for the man who built all of this from nothing.

Alexander Thorn isn't just a CEO he's a legend a mentor a man who proves that courage creativity and relentless hard work can turn an idea into a world-class empire And now standing here about to start my journey in his company I feel a mix of pride excitement and the tiniest hint of fear How do you measure up to a man who seems almost larger than life.

All I know is I'm here now and I intend to rise to the challenge.

Walking into the building with my badge around my neck,I head into the general elevator with some others workers.i head to my destination a big and large room filled with desks around with a printer, water dispenser and a door leading to the toilet at one corner.at the other end an office,to be more precised my office.

There are people with longer experience her but I somehow ends up as a the coordinator.i guess the internship and keeping up with trends and having others related side job like a social media manager, market researcher actually paid off.

I first went into the office, dropped off my bag and went to the general office.

Everyone is seated in all their respective desk coughed to get their attention as I introduced myself with a smile on my face.

"Hi everyone, I'm Lila, your new PR/Marketing Coordinator," she began.

"I know we haven't met yet, but I've already taken the liberty of learning all your names," she said with a playful grin.

A few heads tilted in surprise, some smiles breaking across the table.

"So, there's Daniel, who's apparently the analytics wizard," she pointed to a tall man scribbling notes. "

Monica, our social media guru—loving the Instagram campaigns you did last quarter.

Tariq, the content strategist with the knack for headlines. And Sophie, I hear your press releases are legendary."

She continued, glancing around: "Aisha, Brian, Clara, David, Elena, Felix, Grace, and Henry—I've read so much about the incredible work you all do, and I can't wait to learn from you and contribute wherever I can."

A few chuckles rippled through the room. Monica raised an eyebrow. "You really memorized all our names?"

"I did," Lila replied, a hint of pride in her voice. "I figured it's the least I could do to start off on the right foot with such a talented team."

Tariq leaned back in his chair with a small smile. "Well, I have to admit, it's impressive. Not many newcomers come in that prepared."

Lila felt a warm blush creep up her cheeks, but she kept her smile steady. First impressions matter, she thought. And maybe knowing everyone's name was a small step toward fitting in—and maybe even earning a little respect.

After introducing myself to the team, I finally felt a small wave of relief wash over me as I head back to my office. They seemed welcoming, even impressed that I remembered everyone's names. I let myself sink into the rhythm of the office for a few minutes, trying to absorb every detail—the polished floors, the creative displays, the buzz of people moving with purpose.

Then my laptop pinged. I glanced at the screen, and my heart skipped.

"Lila, please come to the executive office. Meet with Alexander Thorn, his assistant, and the general manager. 3:00 PM. Thank you."

I blinked. My first day, and I was already being summoned to the man himself. I had imagined this moment for years, but imagining and experiencing were very different things. My fingers hovered over the keyboard as I replied with a polite, professional confirmation, trying not to shake.

The office suddenly felt smaller, the air heavier. I could feel every eye on me as I packed my laptop into my bag, every step toward the elevator echoing in my chest. What would I say? What would he think of me? Could I even make a good impression?

As the elevator doors closed, I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing thoughts. I reminded myself,I had earned this position. I had fought through hundreds of applicants. I was capable.

Still, a small part of me couldn't stop the flutter in my stomach. Alexander Thorn wasn't just a legend to the industry,he was larger than life. Meeting him face-to-face was no longer something I could prepare for. It was happening.

And there was no turning back.
