Lydia nearly jumped out of the window when she heard the unfamiliar voice of the man entering the kitchen. This was the second time she experienced something like this over the past two days, and it was still just as surprising and annoying.
The young man turned out to be Emma's youngest son. His name was Louis. He was angry at her mother because he found out that she went to the grocery store by herself, despite repeatedly asking her not to do it.
"I'm sorry about Louis," said Emma to the girls as they ate lunch together. "He can be emotional at times, but he is actually a good kid."
"It's okay, Emma," said Lydia. "I understand. He's just worried about your safety. I was just surprised when he burst through the door like that."
Elara nodded. "Yeah, I agree with Lydia. Besides, he already apologized to us, so don't you worry about a thing."
