Bella's POV
"Why would I want to steal the spotlight when this isn't even my celebration?" I lifted the golden hairpin Ursula had given me, testing how it looked against my hair.
The complete set would be overkill, but a single pin struck the right balance. It would make Ursula happy without turning me into a walking jewelry display. As for what everyone else thought? Why should that matter to me?
Phoebe and Daisy opened their mouths to argue again, but I cut them off. "Penny, get me the blue dress from the closet."
Penny nodded and moved to the wardrobe, retrieving the dress and laying it beside me.
Phoebe shot Penny a venomous look. Penny didn't even blink, just went back to her dusting.
I watched Phoebe's face twist with frustration, like she'd swung at thin air. The anger was eating her alive.
I made a mental note of this reaction.
Just as I reached for the dress, Kenneth's voice echoed from outside. "Bella."
His carefree laughter drifted closer.
