"What?" Jasper stared at me, his shock evident.
He understood my connection to the Hopper family well enough.
Even someone with his limited ties to Seraphine could spot her instantly, yet here I was claiming ignorance.
Jasper's gaze fixed on my face, studying me carefully.
My features were striking—beautiful in a way that balanced coldness with warmth. My eyes held a gentle roundness.
Yet my irises were so deep and dark that my pupils seemed to vanish, creating an impenetrable void. No light found its way through them. They remained distant and empty.
At first glance, I appeared breathtaking.
But deeper observation revealed something unsettling—something that didn't quite belong to the human world.
The realization sent an instinctive chill down one's spine.
Jasper snapped back to awareness as if ice water had doused his face, the cold cutting straight through him.
