Amara's POV
The sound of running water jolted me awake at five in the morning.
Annoyed, I threw my robe on and stumbled out to investigate. Light spilled from my bathroom, and I could hear someone showering inside.
"Dominic, you've got some nerve!" The water shut off immediately. Thirty seconds later, Dominic emerged wearing the hotel's terry cloth robe.
Water dripped from his hair, his complexion ghostly pale, yet he wore that infuriating bright smile. "Morning, beautiful."
I sucked in a sharp breath. "Who gave you permission to use my shower?"
Truth was, I'd heard him moving around when he first got up and headed for the bathroom.
I'd wondered if Dominic was planning something. Clearly, I'd underestimated just how brazen this man could be.
Dominic stepped closer, peeling away the plastic covering his right arm's wound. He'd already yanked out the IV from his left arm, slapping a waterproof bandage over the puncture site. "You never told me I couldn't."
I was speechless.
