Chapter 9 - ch 8

Rukha thought, "She's staring at me again, making me uncomfortable. Her eyes are fixed on me like I've done something wrong."

She wondered, "Why can't Shivyansh and Karan notice this? They're not seeing her, but I can. Does it mean she's dead? This has happened before in the series, where she dies and comes back to life due to some reason. And she knows I'm seeing her, but I'm not sure if she's dead or alive."

She thought about Shivyansh, who was standing beside her, but he wasn't looking at the witch. If he had seen her, he would have reacted. Neither Shivyansh nor Karan could see her, which was strange.

Rukha decided, "I need to do something. But maybe I should just recite the Hanuman Chalisa."

She thought again, "No, that might make her notice me. I should at least act normal in front of Shivyansh and Karan."

Aloud, she said, "Let's go to the banquet. It's still morning, why did they call us so early? Actually, it's not morning yet..."

Shivyansh replied, "It's probably for preparations or something. They must have called you for a reason."

Rukha thought, "As far as I know, Shivyansh is supposed to have saved a noble girl named Aaradhya. But she's nowhere to be seen. And it's been 50 days since he saved her. Shivyansh got his powers here, and the plot involves demons and angels fighting over him."

She wondered, "Shivyansh still has those powers, but he hasn't become what he was supposed to be because of that girl. I've reviewed the story a thousand percent, so I must have somehow messed it up."

Rukha thought, "Oh no, she knows now. I used my contact on her. What can I do? Can I die? No, dying will just repeat the timeline. I need to fix this timeline."

She thought about the witch, "I know she's the Witch of Calamity, and the Witch of Time is involved. If the Witch of Time sees the Witch of Calamity, things will get really complicated."

Rukha stood up, drawing her sword, and thought, "I'm making the Witch of Calamity my enemy, but what choice do I have?"

The Witch of Calamity emerged from the darkness, and Rukha swung her sword, but it didn't seem to affect her. The Witch of Calamity hugged Rukha, and she thought, "What's going on? Why isn't she angry? She doesn't like it when someone attacks her... Wait, is this a trick? Is she planning to kill me?"

The Witch of Calamity whispered in Rukha's ear, "I've been waiting for you, Rukha. You have something I need."

Rukha tried to push her away, but the Witch of Calamity's grip was like a vice. "What do you want?" Rukha asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

The Witch of Calamity smiled, and her eyes gleamed with an otherworldly light. "I want the power that's inside you, Rukha. The power to control the timelines."

Rukha's eyes widened in shock. "You can't be serious. I don't have that kind of power."

The Witch of Calamity laughed, and the sound sent shivers down Rukha's spine. "Don't play dumb, Rukha. I know what you are. You're a Timekeeper, and you have the power to manipulate the timelines. I've seen it."

Rukha's mind was reeling. Timekeeper? What did that mean? She didn't remember being a Timekeeper, but how did she get it?

The Witch of Calamity leaned in closer, her breath cold against Rukha's ear. "I'll give you a choice, Rukha. Join me, and together we can rule the timelines. Or... refuse, and face the consequences."

Rukha's heart was racing. What was she supposed to do? She didn't know anything about being a Timekeeper or controlling timelines. But one thing was certain - she wasn't going to join the Witch of Calamity.

Rukha's eyes flashed with determination. "I'll never join you," she said, her voice firm.

The Witch of Calamity laughed again, and this time, the sound was like a cold wind blowing through Rukha's soul. "Very well, then. You leave me no choice."

With a swift motion, the Witch of Calamity raised her hand, and a dark energy began to build around her. Rukha knew she had to act fast. She focused her mind, and a bright light burst forth from her body, pushing back the darkness.

The Witch of Calamity stumbled back, her eyes narrowing. "You're powerful, I'll give you that," she said. "But not powerful enough."

The two women clashed, their powers locked in a fierce battle. Rukha felt her strength waning, but she refused to give up. Suddenly, she remembered something - the man potion she had drunk earlier. It was supposed to give her courage and strength, but she had forgotten about it in the chaos.

With newfound determination, Rukha focused on the potion's effects, and a surge of energy flowed through her veins. She counterattacked, her sword flashing with a light that seemed to pierce the darkness.

The Witch of Calamity stumbled back, her eyes wide with surprise. "How...?" she began, but Rukha didn't give her a chance to finish. With a swift stroke, she struck the Witch of Calamity down, banishing the darkness.

As the Witch of Calamity disappeared, Rukha felt a sense of relief wash over her. But it was short-lived. The darkness began to swirl around her again, and she knew that the battle was far from over.

Rukha thought, "Thank god I had an extra portion of that divine magic potion. It really helped me out. I had drunk it just in case, and it came in handy."

She thought about going to the market and remembered she was getting a free portion with every purchase. "I should get the light magic potion, it might come in useful."

She took the potion and drank it, but nothing happened. She thought, "Hmm, nothing happened. That guy must have scammed me. He's a scammer."

But then she had a flashback, and she realized, "No, it wasn't a scam. I converted my spirit magic to divine magic for a while, and it's effective against demonic magic."

Just then, the Witch of Time appeared and said, "Ah, you're having fun, aren't you?"

Rukha was a bit scared and asked, "Who are you?"

The Witch of Time showed her Shivyansh, Karan, and the others, and said, "When the Witch of Calamity was coming, I stopped the timeline. I froze time."

Rukha asked, "If you have the power of time, why are you looking for me?"

The Witch of Time smiled and said, "I wanted to test you. I wanted to see if you could see me. And it seems you can."

Rukha asked, "What does it mean that time is disturbed?"

The Witch of Time replied, "I'm from a future timeline. I want you to be safe in the future."

Rukha was confused and asked, "What difference does it make if I'm safe or not?"

The Witch of Time said, "It makes a big difference. You..."

Rukha's eyes widened in shock as the Witch of Time said, "You're not from this world, are you?"

Rukha's soul trembled as she thought, "What does it mean? I'm not from this world? But why is the timeline being disturbed because of me? I haven't done anything significant. I haven't saved anyone, nor have I killed anyone. Why is the timeline changing?"

The Witch of Time continued, "It's because of your brother. My brother, actually. Your brother died, and that's why you're here. Don't you remember?"

Rukha thought, "Oh, yes. I behave like my brother, don't I? But why is this happening?"

The Witch of Time explained, "It's because one person can change the course of a story. And you've changed it. Not because of what you did in the past, but because of what you'll do in the future."

Rukha was perplexed. "What do you mean? I haven't done anything significant."

The Witch of Time smiled. "You've saved many people who didn't deserve to be saved. Saving one person is good, but saving many is even more significant. And you've done it."

Rukha was taken aback. "What are you talking about? I don't remember doing anything like that."

The Witch of Time's smile grew wider. "That's because you haven't done it yet. But you will. And that's why the timeline is changing."

Rukha thought, "Okay, I'll just pretend I didn't hear anything." She said aloud, "Nothing happened, guys. Just calm down and go."

Shivyansh asked, "Master, are you sure everything is okay?"

Rukha replied, "Yes, everything is fine. Just go and rest."

As they left, Rukha thought, "Harsa and the Witch of Time, where do these people come from? And Harsa is Shivyansh's love interest, and they're going to fight over this. Now, because of me, the topic has shifted. Who should I shift Shivyansh's attention to?"

She continued thinking, "I need to focus on fixing the story. I haven't saved that person yet, so there's still a chance to correct the mistake."

Rukha's eyes narrowed, "I'll make sure to fix this timeline. No more mistakes."

Rukha concentrated, replaying the story's events in her mind to identify the turning point. Suddenly, she recalled a conversation with Shivyansh about a girl in danger, whom he was determined to save.

Her eyes widened as she realized this must be the person she needed to save. Rukha hastily walked towards the girl's supposed location, pondering the Witch of Time's words: "You've saved many who didn't deserve it."

She shook her head, focusing on the task. The Witch's message would have to wait; saving the girl and fixing the timeline was her priority.

Upon arrival, Rukha saw Shivyansh and Harsa looking worried. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized she was too late. The girl was missing, and Shivyansh was frantically searching.

Rukha's gaze met Harsa's, seeing anger and accusation. "Where is she?" Harsa asked, her voice trembling.

Rukha's mind raced.

Rukha's thoughts whirled as she replayed the story. She recalled Shivyansh's determination to save a girl in danger. Her eyes widened; this must be the one. She hastened towards the location, the Witch of Time's words echoing: "You've saved many undeserving people."

She refocused, prioritizing the girl's rescue and timeline correction. Arriving at the scene, Rukha saw worried faces – Shivyansh and Harsa. Her heart sank; she was late. The girl was gone, and Shivyansh was searching frantically.

Harsa's gaze met Rukha's, accusation burning in her eyes. "Where is she?" she trembled.

Rukha's mind spun. What went wrong? Rukha thought, "Ministers, who are these people? I don't even remember who they are. But what's done is done, I can't change it now. The story's already messed up because of me."

Suddenly, a flashback appeared. Rukha was telling her brother, "Go away, die somewhere!" in anger.

Then, it was revealed that her brother had turned into a monster. In the flashback, her brother was turning into a monster, and she was crying in grief as their mom killed the monster.

Rukha thought, "If only I hadn't said that. If only I had stopped him."

Suddenly, the System appeared. Rukha thought, "Where did this System come from?"

Rukha said, "What's your business? I came to fulfill my role. Some mistake happened, and the whole story got messed up. And you show up? Didn't you know I existed? What were you doing?"

The System replied, "Fulfill your role. I don't care who you are or where you're from. You'll continue the story because you messed it up."

Rukha retorted, "Are you human or an animal? Tell me, where did you come from? Don't you even remember me? What are you doing when I need help?"

The System replied, "I don't listen to your nonsense."

Rukha was about to curse, but she stopped herself. "Wait, was someone watching me? Did someone notice?"

The System said, "Hello, this is my new feature. When you're talking to me, no one can see you. Everyone will think you're a normal human."

Rukha said, "Okay, you've done something good. Your..."

She was about to say something, but a servant appeared and said, "Master, what are you thinking? You're walking around lost in thought."

Rukha replied, "No, no, it's nothing. You go."

The servant said, "Master, I'm not allowed to leave you alone."

Rukha remembered something and said, "Oh right, I forgot. I'll come."

Then, another scene appeared. A man in black clothes appeared and said, "Is the ritual going to be completed?"

The Danger of Valley said, "Yes, it's going to happen."

The man in black said, "Okay, the three bodies will be found tomorrow."

The Danger of Valley asked, "Who are these three people whose bodies are supposed to be found?"

The man in black replied, "I don't know, but fate is changing God himself."

Rukha's eyes widened in shock as she heard the ministers' conversation. She thought, "Aaradhya... is that why she's missing? But who could have done this?"

The ministers continued discussing the situation, unaware of Rukha's growing unease. One of them said, "We need to find the culprit and punish them severely."

Rukha's grip on her emotions tightened. She needed to find out more.

Rukha's expression changed to confusion as the ministers discussed Aaradhya's kidnapping. She thought, "Aaradhya? Who's that? Why are they talking about her?"

The ministers continued discussing the situation, their voices rising in urgency. One of them said, "We need to increase security around the kingdom. We can't let this happen again."

Rukha listened, trying to piece together what was happening. She had no connection to Aaradhya, but the tension in the room was palpable.

The minister who mentioned Aaradhya turned to someone else, "Shivyansh, you were supposed to keep an eye on her. What happened?"

Shivyansh looked nervous, "I... I don't know, sir. She was just... gone."

Rukha's eyes narrowed, intrigued by the conversation. What was going on?

Rukha felt a strange sensation wash over her, and she saw something that made her blood run cold. She tried to hide her emotions, but her face betrayed her. She thought, "What's going on? Is this happening again?"

She tried to shake off the feeling and focused on the conversation around her. Shivyansh asked, "Master, are you okay? You look pale."

Rukha hesitated, not knowing what to say. She finally replied, "No, it's nothing. Just a bit dizzy."

Shivyansh offered to escort her to her room, but Rukha declined. The ministers continued discussing Aaradhya's disappearance, and Rukha's anger grew. She thought, "This is all their fault. They're blaming me for something I didn't do."

Suddenly, a minister turned to her and said, "Rukha, can you help us find Aaradhya? She's an important figure in this kingdom."

Rukha's headache worsened, and she felt herself losing control. She thought, "Shant, stay calm." And then, everything went black.

When she came to, she was surrounded by servants and Shivyansh, who was trying to revive her. Rukha thought, "What's happening? Why am I feeling so weird?"

The scene shifted to a woman in a red cloak, standing in a jungle. She said, "The ritual is complete. Whoever is involved will be punished."

Rukha's thoughts were jumbled. She thought, "What's going on? This has never happened before. I'm not supposed to exist, but..."

She began to meditate, trying to clear her mind. Suddenly, she was transported to a dream where she was with her mom and brother. They were walking together, happy, but the dream ended abruptly.
