A DOOR REOPENS
Serena stepped out of the courthouse, sunlight hitting her face for the first time in months.
House arrest.
An ankle monitor.
Restricted movement.
But she was free.
She tilted her head back and laughed softly.
"Freedom," she whispered.
"Even if it's temporary."
Her lawyer warned,
"One wrong move and you're back inside."
Serena smiled sweetly.
"I'll behave," she lied.

Across the city, Elara suddenly felt dizzy.
She placed a hand on her stomach.
"Lucien… something's wrong."
He rushed to her side.
"What is it?"
"I don't know," she whispered.
"I just feel… exposed."
Lucien froze when his phone buzzed.
Security Alert: Serena Blackwood released on house arrest.
His blood ran cold.
"She's out."
Elara's eyes widened.

A woman walked up to her table.

"I used to work for Serena.
She's planning something."
Elara's heart dropped.
"Where is she?"
"I don't know," the woman whispered.
"But she said… she wants to finish what she started."
