Chapter 44 - The Ancient Frost Titan

The sky above the northern range turned white that morning—frozen clouds, still air, a silence sharp as shattered glass. When the Myth System awakened me that dawn, the message carried both awe and threat.

"Monthly Quest: Slay the Ancient Frost Titan, Half-Step Divine Lord, dwelling in the Glacial Abyss. Time limit: five days."

"Reward: 2,000,000 EXP. New territory—Frozen Tundra Empire. New follower: Ice Sovereign Glacia."

The name alone chilled my soul. The Frost Titan wasn't a simple beast. It was a remnant of the old god wars, a thing of ice and hatred buried below the world since time's dawn.

I looked out toward the horizon—a wall of snow blurring cities to ghosts. Yue Zhilan stood behind me, frost shimmering along her spear. "He moves again," she said softly. "The glaciers kept him quiet for a thousand years."

Mo Han cracked his knuckles, flame flaring wild. "Then I'll melt him quiet again."

Lu Din pointed to maps spread across the war table. "Titan's lair is here, Glacial Abyss Valley. Half our scouts froze solid, stepping near it. Armies would crumble. This will need you three—and the pantheon's strength."

I smiled. "Then we bring winter its last dawn."

We left before the light broke fully. The wind there bit through armour. Frost formed on eyelids, freezing breath midair. Yue Zhilan walked ahead like a blade made of ice itself, spear humming to the cold. Mo Han burned bright beside her, steam trailing behind his steps. I followed the Myth System, whispering numbers—temperatures, power levels, and death tolls from the last Titan awakening.

When we reached the valley, everything turned silent. Even sound froze. The Titan's body filled the chasm—a mountain of crystal flesh, ribs like frozen towers. And yet, even in stillness, I could feel its heartbeat, deep and echoing, like drums buried under the world.

Then one eye opened—blue, ancient, colder than creation.

"Another mortal seeking to change the sky…" The Titan's voice thundered through stone. "How fragile you look."

I drew Eternal Sovereign's Fang, qi burning with the resonance of every realm I had conquered. "You'll find mortals harder to crush than before."

The Titan roared, standing fully over a thousand metres tall. A glacier cracked from its rise, sending a blizzard across the valley. Mo Han answered with a pillar of flame shooting skyward. The storm turned to steam for a heartbeat.

Yue Zhilan leapt, streaking silver across the air. Her spear pierced one of the Titan's ribs, breaking skin that shone like glass. "Aim for the heart!" she shouted.

I surged forward, weaving between falling shards of ice the size of temples. The cold cut flesh straight through armour, qi struggling to resist. Dao Refining… no, even Saint Power barely matches him, the System whispered.

"Temporary Boosting Path Open—Sovereign Resonance: Pantheon Amplification."

Vulcan's fire roared through my veins. Nereia's tides rushed to my hands. Elowen's vines wrapped around my limbs for strength. I became every element for that instant, a god wearing mortal skin.

"Let's end it!" I shouted and slashed.

The blade roared heavenfire. The Titan raised an arm to block, but Mo Han blasted molten qi into the wound Zhilan had created. The explosion lit the blizzard scarlet. The Titan screamed, shaking the mountains.

One more strike. I leapt, channelling all the gathered forces through the Fang. "By the Myth System's will—fall!"

The world cracked. Ice mountains split from peak to base. When the light cleared, only giant shards remained, melting into glittering blue mist.

"Ding! Monthly Quest Complete!"

"Reward: 2,000,000 EXP. Realm Advancement: Saint Transformation → God Transformation (Early). All followers +1 Realm."

"New territory unlocked: Frozen Tundra Empire."

Snow drifted down softly now, no longer hostile. From the broken heart of the Titan, an aura like gentle winter arose. A woman stepped forward, cloaked in frost and light-blue silk. Hair like falling snow, eyes like moonlit glaciers.

"I am Glacia," she said, her voice a calm breeze. "This body was my prison once. You freed me when you shattered its heart. My soul remembers your mercy… from another world."

I blinked. "Another world?"

She smiled faintly. "When you were mortal in your first life, you released my spirit from the Frost Seals in the northern pole. You spoke of spring even in death. I've waited since."

She knelt upon the melting ice.

"New Follower Acquired: Ice Sovereign Glacia, Early Celestial Sovereign. Ability: Eternal Winter Domain. Loyalty 97%."

Yue Zhilan lowered her weapon, admiring the calm in Glacia's eyes. "Your ice feels alive, not cruel."

"The world needs balance," Glacia murmured. "I will keep these lands prosperous, not frozen."

The snow around us began to sparkle—not biting, but glowing warmth. The north turned white-gold, rivers thawed, and for the first time in generations, the Frozen Tundra bloomed with light.

Mo Han raised a chunk of Titan crystal. "Good practice," he laughed. "Who's next?"

The Myth System answered for me—

"Next Daily Quest Queue: Hunt the Sky Phoenix Matriarch (Celestial Sovereign)."

I glanced toward the southern horizon. Clouds burned orange where flames danced high beyond sight.

"Looks like spring wants a fight," I said, sheathing my blade.

And thus, with the Titan fallen, winter ended—and a new fire waited.
