Chapter 13 - Chapter 12: Vermilion Talisman Peak

The demon lord left a moment ago.

Jang Yue was now alone with Fairy Xu Yan. Though it was awkward, she did not seem bothered by him.

After moments of silence, Fairy Xu Yan finally spoke up.

"You… are you a noble elven race?"

"I get asked that a lot, but I am not an elven race, and I have never met them before."

Fairy Xu Yan sighed, then continued.

"Your long ears say otherwise. Anyways, why are you wearing a cloak?"

Jang Yue did not want to tell anyone his weaknesses. However, solar polarity would disappear once his bloodline was sufficient, so he did not mind telling her. On the other hand, Jang Yue also thought that she was asking too many questions.

Was she suspicious of him?

"I have a weakness to sunlight. I would not be able to lift a finger under direct sunlight. And even with this cloak, I am still weakened beyond measure."

"With that kind of weakness, you would not be a noble race."

She said this in disappointment. At this point, Fairy Xu Yan closed her eyes again and told Jang Yue to wait for his senior sister.

In the central continent, all over the world exhibited this principle, that all sect members were brothers and sisters even though they were not related by blood.

However, the Infinite Demon Sect was different. It was a sect of pure chaos and destruction until the Azure Deity Slayer changed their lives five hundred years ago.

They had no choice but to adapt to the righteous faction's way of living so that the remaining disciples would not die from infighting.

But once a demonic sect, always a demonic sect.

Soon, a young girl arrived, dressed in red and gold robes that barely covered her legs. She had the kind of beauty that many men would fall for. But Jang Yue was not moved at all.

The young girl, not older than twenty years old, bowed to her master and then spoke with a sweet, happy voice.

"Master, I am back from creating another living Talisman."

"Congratulations!"

"This is your new junior brother, Jang Yue. You are to show him around our peak and give him a cave abode to sleep in."

When the girl realized that she had a junior brother, she jumped up with joy.

"Yeah! I am not the last anymore…"

She then turned her gaze toward Jang Yue.

At this point, her expression betrayed what she saw. She rushed toward her master, terrified.

"Master, what is a cute noble doing here? Did he betray the righteous faction?"

"No, I am not a noble race. I am a vampire."

Jang Yue defended himself. It turned out he would have to explain his race to every new person he met.

Suddenly, the girl stood up from her master's arms, her face red with embarrassment.

Then she cleared her throat and spoke.

"It is not like I was scared or anything. I was just surprised that a noble race would come to the demonic sect. You know what I mean, right?"

"No, not even close."

Jang Yue said with a flat expression.

However, his senior sister started asking questions.

"So! How long do you plan to cultivate before you start going on adventures?"

[ BING! ]

[ Your senior sister's favourability has surpassed two stars. ]

Seeing this, Jang Yue was scared for his life. What would happen when the boys crushing on her found out that she liked him?

He imagined being punched to death by a demonic technique.

The thought of his future death terrified him even more.

"As long as there are no instructions, I can enter seclusion for hundreds of years and not leave my cave abode."

The young girl was shocked.

[ Your senior sister's favourability has decreased to half a star ]

However, the Blood Assistant suggested another prompt again.

[ Fairy Xu Yan's favourability is now at 1 star ]

Suddenly, Fairy Xu Yan asked in a stern voice.

"Do you know any spells?"

"No."

Jang Yue retorted.

"Xiao'er, give him the Living Talisman Manual. Though it is not an attack spell, it can guide you on how to create living Talismans that can attack for you as long as you have Qi. You may now leave."

Fairy Xu Yan said this in a dismissive voice. Then she closed her eyes and returned to her cultivation.

Moments later, Jang Yue was given a cave abode, a Vermilion Talisman uniform, and a Living Talisman Manual.

Before Xiao'er could leave, she left another technique with him.

The Blood Demon Art.

"What kind of technique is this?"

"It is a technique I found when I went searching for a fortuitous encounter. Unfortunately, I am not a blood cultivator, and I do not really understand it. So I am giving this Immortal level Blood Demon Art to you."

"It is on an immortal level!?"

Jang Yue widened his eyes in shock.

"Do not be too shocked. The technique is incomplete."

She said this while turning her back to leave.

"I will come back to see your progress, junior brother."

As she left, Jang Yue asked,

"BA, your appraisal function works on things like this, right? You can find a complete version of this, right?"

[ I can do more than just find a complete version. I can analyze this and create an upgraded version, but this process will take at least two liters of blood, and I will have only two months left for communication with the host! ]

"Amazing," Jang Yue muttered, his eyes wide open. However, he was not quite sure what kind of technique came after an immortal level technique. After all, techniques were divided into Spirit, Human, Earth, Sky, Divine, and Immortal.

This was what he had read.

However, this analyzed technique was the very reason he would be called the Serenity Blood God in the future.

"No problem. Just do that. I will find a way to fill ten or twenty liters of blood before I go into seclusion."

[ Beginning appraisal… ]

The Blood Assistant absorbed the technique and started its analysis.

Meanwhile, Jang Yue began walking around the inner sect with the goal of finding a way to acquire blood.

Unfortunately for him, this was impossible.

Unlike the outer sect, the demonic sect valued all of its sect creatures.

Jang Yue was sure that he would not find any place where he could gain blood.

Until he found a chicken stall.

"Excuse me, sir. Are you looking for fried chicken? It will be prepared for you in no time."

Jang Yue shook his head and pointed toward the chickens behind the man.

"How much will you sell all of those chickens for?"

The man turned behind him and became nervous.

Was he going to be robbed again?

This was the expression he wore. His hands began to tremble upon Jang Yue's question.

"They are not for sale, sir. These chickens possess a Tier One core, so it is very hard to acqui—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Jang Yue dropped five high grade bluish spirit stones on the counter.

"I do not want the chickens themselves. I just need their blood. How many liters of blood can all the chickens behind you give?"

Seeing Jang Yue's honesty, the man's tense expression calmed. Even though he had never delivered blood before, his expression became serious.

He knew very well what high grade spirit stones meant to him.

One low grade spirit stone was enough to feed a family of four for two months. One high grade spirit stone was even more precious. It could feed a family of four for a year. And Jang Yue had just dropped five of them like it was nothing.

Normally, these five low grade spirit stones could buy all of the man's chickens with some left over. However, Jang Yue was not looking for chickens. He was looking for their blood.

Thus, the man stood to gain enormous profit.

"Sir, with these five high grade stones, I can give you all of the chickens' blood behind me."

"Alright. Do that. I will wait here."

After some time, the man slaughtered all of his chickens and delivered the blood to Jang Yue.

"Twenty liters. This should be enough."

Jang Yue thanked the man and returned to his cave abode.

After some time, he called out to BA.

"Hey, I will give you ten liters of blood like I promised. Store the remaining ten for my cultivation."

[ Host! You are the best. Please dip your hand inside the blood for absorption. ]

Jang Yue obeyed.

Moments later, the blood was carefully absorbed and stirred within Jang Yue's body.

Jang Yue removed one high grade spirit stone and tried to cultivate.

But no matter how he tried, he could not absorb the spiritual residue from the spirit stone.

"I guess I really have to use blood for all my cultivation from now on."

Suddenly, an idea struck him.

He controlled a lump of blood and mixed it with the spirit stone.

The bluish stone slowly turned crimson.

Soon, Jang Yue was able to absorb the spirit stone, enhancing the spiritual energy within his body.

He jumped up after the discovery.

Joy filled his face as he held another spirit stone in his left hand.

"I will name this stone Blood Spirit Stone!"
