Back in the valley, the soldiers ushered the people out of the basement. Some of them were hesitant to come out, afraid they might get struck by a meteor, while others ran out, believing the basement didn't hold any safety.
"Don't move!" A soldier yelled when one of the women pushed another woman out of the way.
"Don't be afraid, the valley is safe." Another yelled.
After a few seconds, the streets were filled with people. A boy around the age of eight tugged his mother's skirt. "Mother, what is that?" He said pointing up at the sky.
His mother raised her head, her eyes widening when she saw the thin layer of barrier shielding the valley.
"What is that? It is not safe to be here!" She shouted, holding her son's hand. She turned around heading back to the basement.
A few people followed her instinctively, and more people turned around following them. Within seconds the calm broke, and the crowd surged towards the basement entrance blocking the people coming out.
