Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

TWO HEARTS ONE CHOICE

Elliana almost missed him.

She was leaving the café near campus, scrolling through her phone when a familiar engine sound caught her attention. Not loud. Not reckless. Just steady.

She looked up.

Leon stood by a modest car, not his old racing one.

No chains.

No dark circles under his eyes.

Just… him.

Her heart skipped.

For a second, neither of them moved.

Then Leon spoke.

"Hi, Ellie."

Her breath hitched.

"You're… free."

"Yeah," he said softly. "Two weeks now."

Silence wrapped around them.

"I didn't come to disturb your life," Leon added. "I just wanted to see you once. To say… I'm sorry again. For everything."

Elliana studied his face.

He looked different.

Calmer.

Real.

"I heard you're working," she said.

"At a mechanic shop," he nodded. "No racing. No trouble."

She smiled slightly.

"That's good."

He hesitated.

"I don't expect anything from you. I just needed you to know… I changed."

Elliana's eyes burned.

"I never stopped caring," she whispered.

Leon swallowed.

"I never stopped loving you."

She stepped closer.

"Forgiving you wasn't easy," she said. "But carrying hate was heavier."

Tears slipped down his cheeks.

"Thank you for not giving up on me."

She took his hand.

"Let's not rush," she said. "We rebuild slowly."

Leon smiled through tears.

"I'll wait."

---

Weeks later…

Coffee dates.

Long walks.

Quiet laughter.

Her father watched from a distance.

One night, he finally said,

"If he hurts you again… I won't be kind."

Elliana smiled.

"He won't."

---

On her birthday, Leon took her to the beach.

Same place.

Different story.

"No sirens," Elliana laughed.

"No chaos."

"Just us," Leon said.

He took her hands.

"Still choosing me?"

She squeezed his fingers.

"Two hearts… one choice."

They kissed softly—

Not desperate.

Not rushed.

Just real.

Elliana looked at the ocean and whispered,

"Mom… I'm okay."

The waves answered.

This time,

love stayed.

THE END 💙💙
