The moment I got close, Allen wrapped his strong arms around me, pulling me gently against his warm, bare chest. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding, melting right into his embrace, resting my head in the comfortable crook of his neck.
Allen held me tightly, his broad hand stroking my back in slow, soothing motions. But as the silence settled over the room, I knew that he was low-key losing it and I suddenly felt guilt crawling into my chest. He pulled back just a fraction, looking down into my eyes, his expression full of concern.

I stared up at his handsome face, looking at those deep emerald green eyes that had offered me nothing but absolute protection, love, and devotion since the very day we met.
