So even time worked differently here.
I was teleported into a dark tunnel.
<
I didn't even mind dying anymore.
I sat there for a long time. There was no time limit.
If I could escape this place… maybe I could leave that damned room.
I stood up and ran forward.
After about a minute of running, I felt it.
Something stabbed into my arm.
It hurt—but it was refreshing. I hadn't felt anything in so long.
As I ran, pain riddled my body. A warm liquid coated my skin.My lungs burned. My legs threatened to give out at any moment.
Then something struck me.
I couldn't see it, but I felt it.
My left leg was severed completely.
My staggering body fell off balance.
Almost immediately, something sharp rained down on me.
I crawled for what felt like hours as what I could only describe as liquid iron poured onto me.
As my last thread of consciousness faded, I saw a light.I reached toward it—
Then everything went dark.
Was I dead?
As I lay there, my thoughts ran cold.
I thought about the life I could've had.
My wife and child—even if they weren't real—I missed them.I did all I could.
Cold tears fell from my face.
It was as if I could see my family in front of me.
No… I could.
Khalissa was right there.
Her soft eyes. Her light brown hair.
I reached for my wife.
She looked at me with a gentle smile.
Khalissa: "Did you have a nightmare?"
Of course. This is just a dream.
Khalissa: "Don't worry. It's all over now."
Khalissa: "Come on, go back to sleep. We have to take Marie to the beach tomorrow."
As my final thought slipped away, I let go.
Goodnight.
