A red haze of fury descended. Acacia didn't scream, she lunged. She scrambled onto the bed, her nails like claws as she grabbed the first girl by her hair and yanked her bodily off the mattress.
"Get out! Get out, you filthy sluts!" Acacia shrieked, kicking at the second woman as she tried to scramble for her clothes. Acacia grabbed a heavy glass vase from the nightstand and looked ready to shatter it over their heads. "I will kill you both if I ever see you near my husband again!"
The girls didn't wait to argue. They snatched up their dresses and heels, fleeing into the hallway in a panic of tangled limbs and muffled sobs.
Once the door clicked shut, the room fell into a heavy, suffocating silence. Acacia's chest heaved, her face flushed with a mixture of rage and heartbreak. She turned to Seron, expecting an apology, an explanation, or anything.
