Chapter 49 - Chapter 9: Point of no return

A month passed since Goku and Vegeta said goodbye.

They both resumed their normal lives, yet despite their efforts, a veil of melancholy lingered within them, preventing them from fully embracing everyday life. The absence of their usual banter and training sessions left a noticeable void in their routines, a void that seemed impossible to fill.

Bulma noticed that there was something different about Vegeta. The once fiery determination in his eyes was replaced by a distant gaze, as if his thoughts were miles away.

While Goku no longer showed up at Capsule Corporation for his usual training, Bulma couldn't shake the feeling that something more profound was at play. She assumed they had probably argued the last time, but she didn't give it much importance. Clashes between them were not uncommon, and knowing Vegeta's character, she wasn't surprised anymore.

Bulma thought that Vegeta probably needed some distractions. So, she considered ways to lift his spirits and provide him with outlets to divert his thoughts from whatever had been troubling him. She envisioned organising a party, hoping that the presence of friends and laughter might help him find solace.

Sighing, Bulma quickly grabbed her phone, created a group, added all their friends, and typed out her message:

Bulma:

Hi everyone, haven't seen each other in a while! That's why I'd like to fix it and invite you to my house next Saturday night at 8pm and get high like the good old days.

I look forward to seeing many of you.

Bulma

Shortly thereafter, the first responses began to arrive. Yamcha, Tien, Krilin and many others confirmed their attendance.

Roshi:

Will there also be some beautiful young girls at this party? 😛

Scoffing, Bulma ignored the old man's perverted comment by tossing her phone back onto the table before heading towards the lab and finishing her work.

She smiled at the thought of Vegeta's face when he read the message. He was a loner, not fond of chaos or being surrounded by lots of people. Surely, he would have been furious at first, but Bulma knew what techniques to use to make him change his mind and join the party.

As soon as he finished his rigorous training in the Gravity Room, Vegeta wiped the sweat off his brow and retrieved his cell phone. The device revealed a myriad of messages waiting for his attention. Curious, he opened the conversation and began to read about the party his wife, Bulma, would be throwing soon.

A mix of irritation and reluctance crossed Vegeta's face.

Damn it, why didn't that woman tell me anything? I really don't want to go to that stupid party with those stupid people, he thought.

Vegeta stormed into Bulma's laboratory, forcefully pushing open the door.

"Bulma! What's this nonsense about a party? Cancel it immediately. I have no desire to attend your boring gathering. Did I make myself clear?" The Saiyan Prince's voice rang out with firm resolve, expressing his strong disinterest in the upcoming event.

"Come on, Vegeta, it'll be fun." Bulma extended her hands in a pleading gesture, her eyes filled with excitement. "And then, I think you need some entertainment. Lately, you've been more gloomy than usual. You'll see that a little fun will do you good."

"I don't need any kind of distraction, much less with all those people." Vegeta crossed his arms, his expression stern and unyielding.

Bulma, undeterred by Vegeta's stern demeanour, stood up and walked towards her husband. She employed her seductive techniques to convince him to join the group.

"Listen Vegeta, if you join us even for a little while, I will reward you, if you know what I mean." She looked at him mischievously.

"If you think that a sexual invitation is enough to make me change my mind, you are very wrong," Vegeta responded.

"Are you serious?" Bulma whispered in his ear, her hand moving down from his chest towards his lower parts, at whose touch he sighed. She raised an eyebrow playfully. "This part of you is much more honest," she added, teasingly emphasising the last word.

Saying this, she patted him on the butt and continued with her work.

Vegeta, caught off guard by Bulma's bold move, couldn't help but admit defeat. He walked out of there without saying a word.

Damn that woman, she always wins!

One thought lingered in his mind, causing a subtle tension.

One moment! I hope she didn't invite Kakarot too! But of course, she will have invited him; he will certainly have been the first to be added to that stupid group. I just hope he has the decency not to come. I have no desire to see him after the last time.

And even if he comes, I will ignore him.

At Goku's house, things were certainly not better.

"And instead, you will come, Goku!" exclaimed Chi-Chi, wagged her finger in his direction.

"But why? You know I don't like parties. You can go with Goten and leave me here," Goku protested, scratching his head in a typical gesture of uncertainty.

"Look, Goku, I'm always at home cleaning and taking care of you and Goten. You never take me anywhere, and for once, there is a social event that all your friends will be attending, you have to make a fuss about. You will come with me, no ifs or buts," Chi-Chi asserted, crossing her arms in frustration and a desire for Goku to take her request seriously.

"But I'll be bored out of my mind," Goku protested, leaning back against the wall with a slight pout on his face, emphasising his apprehension about the party.

"You'll have fun instead! There will be all of your friends. And then I'm sure Bulma will prepare a lot of food, and you can stuff yourself," Chi-Chi cajoled, trying to entice Goku with the prospect of enjoying the gathering. She smiled warmly, hoping to break through Goku's resistance and make the event more appealing to him.

Sure, I want to catch up with my friends. But these social events aren't really my thing. Plus, if Vegeta shows up, it'll be awkward. We haven't seen each other since that time... But then again, with so many people around, it'll be hard for just the two of us to have a conversation. I just hope he stays in his room the whole time, and Chi-Chi decides to come home soon.

"So?" Chi Chi urged.

"Okay, I'll come with you to the party," Goku conceded, giving in to Chi-Chi's persistence.

"Great decision, dear," Chi-Chi said with a smile, pleased that Goku had agreed to accompany her.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a week of planning and organising, Bulma's party was ready to start!

Delectable, appetising, luscious: a spread of mouth-watering dishes were neatly placed on fancy china, decorating the buffet table. On top of the white silk tablecloth were neatly folded cobalt napkins resting next to a pile of empty porcelain plates and silverware.

After placing a bowl filled with steaming hot barbeque chicken legs on the buffet table, Bulma took a few steps back to take in her beautiful setup. She twirled around to view another table covered in various amounts of alcoholic beverages, ranging from beers, ciders, and spirits. She smiled, feeling satisfied with the result of her efforts.

Shortly thereafter, guests began to arrive.

Among the first to step into the lively gathering were Krillin and Eighteen, the inseparable couple. Krillin, with his signature bald head and a wide grin, playfully elbowed Tien as they reminisced about their martial arts training days. Eighteen, elegant and composed, exchanged friendly nods with the others before settling comfortably on the sofa.

Tien engaged in animated conversations with Roshi. Yamcha, sporting his laid-back demeanour, joined in the laughter, sharing anecdotes from his adventures and misadventures. Oolong added his own brand of humour to the mix, keeping the atmosphere light-hearted.

Piccolo maintained his usual stoic posture against the wall. With a glass of water in hand, he observed the interactions with a quiet intensity.

Bulma's eyes sparkled with joy as she embraced Gohan and Videl. "I'm so glad you could make it! Congratulations again on your engagement," Bulma exclaimed, her excitement contagious.

Gohan, his dark hair framing his face, and Videl, with her sleek, bobbed haircut, radiated happiness as they exchanged glances.

"It's our pleasure, Bulma. We wouldn't miss this for anything," Gohan replied, his voice filled with genuine appreciation.

Videl nodded in agreement, adding, "Your parties are always the best, Bulma. We're honoured to be here."

They both joined the group and began to converse.

"So, Gohan, how's it going? I know you no longer live at home with your mother and father," Krillin exclaimed.

Gohan's eyes lit up as he spoke about his current life. "Living with Videl has been wonderful, and Mr. Satan has been really generous in providing us a place. As for the thesis, it's a challenging task, but I'm making progress," he shared with a sense of determination.

Krillin, ever the supportive friend, nodded understandingly. "It must be quite a change from your earlier routine. But I'm sure you're handling it like a pro," he complimented, raising his beer in a toast.

Yamcha, always curious, directed his question towards the Saiyan hybrid. "Hey Gohan, do you think your dad will come?"

Gohan smiled, his eyes glancing towards the entrance. "Absolutely. I heard from them a little while ago, and Dad, Mom, and Goten should be here soon."

Shortly afterward, Vegeta arrived as well.

His entrance brought a distinct shift in the atmosphere, his presence commanding attention and momentarily silencing the animated conversations. The Z Fighters, familiar with the Saiyan Prince's proud and independent nature, couldn't help but cast glances his way as he made his way into the room.

He was dressed in a simple yet fitting black cotton shirt and blue jeans. The contrast between his imposing aura and the festive surroundings created a momentary pause in the revelry.

His intense gaze scanned the room, acknowledging the brief hush that followed his arrival.

The air held a subtle tension, and Vegeta's stoic demeanour conveyed his indifference to the attention he garnered.

"Ah, you're finally here," Bulma greeted warmly. "Come, I've prepared a plate full of things for you to eat. I bet you're starving."

Vegeta, acknowledging the gesture with a subtle nod, took the plate from Bulma. Without a word, he headed towards the alcohol table. A cold beer in hand, he sought the solace of a shaded spot beneath a tree, away from the lively chatter of the group.

Vegeta's focused gaze swept across the room, confirming the absence of Goku and his family. A subtle sense of relief settled in, momentarily easing the tension in Vegeta's shoulders. The Saiyan Prince allowed himself a quiet moment to savour the absence of his eternal rival, Goku.

Better that way, he mused internally, savouring the peace before the storm.

However, the tranquillity was short-lived as the door swung open, revealing Goku, Chi-Chi, and a cheerful Goten. Vegeta's eyes narrowed, and a string of silent curses echoed in his mind.

I spoke too fast.

The unexpected arrival shattered the calm he had momentarily enjoyed, and the Saiyan Prince's stoic expression slipped into a scowl.

The sight of Goku entering the room brought an immediate shift in the atmosphere. Everyone, as if drawn by an invisible force, abandoned their activities and converged in a circle around the Saiyan warrior. Excitement and joy filled the air as they greeted him in unison.

"Hi, Goku!" the group exclaimed, their smiles reflecting the genuine warmth they felt at seeing their friend and comrade once again.

"You never make yourself heard!" they chorused, teasing Goku.

"It's true, forgive me. I'm always busy with training," he apologised, rubbing the back of his neck.

Tien, ever curious about the Saiyan's dedication to training, sought clarification. "With training? You mean you want to become stronger than you are?"

Goku's eyes lit up with enthusiasm, and he nodded, "Yes, exactly! Hehe," he chuckled.

And so, with everyone in attendance, the party could finally begin.

Everyone seemed to be having fun; laughter echoed from metres away. Goku became the centre of attention, with everyone eager to talk to him. He thought that, after all, he was right to accept; he was having fun too. The vibrant atmosphere of the party and the genuine joy of his friends lifted Goku's spirits.

However, he felt that Vegeta was there, but he made sure to avoid him, as it would have been too embarrassing if their eyes had met. So, he spent the evening chatting with others, eating, and drinking. Goku intentionally kept a distance from Vegeta to maintain a sense of normalcy and avoid any potential awkward encounters.

While Vegeta continued to eat and drink blissfully, he couldn't help but let his sharp eyes assess and judge the guests. His Saiyan pride and disdain for what he considered frivolous activities kept him at a distance, but his observant nature couldn't resist scrutinising the interactions around him.

He noticed Krillin enthusiastically engaging in conversation, Yamcha showcasing his typical overconfident demeanour, and Master Roshi indulging in his usual antics. Tien and Chiaotzu seemed content in their own world, and Oolong's attempt to impress the ladies with his shape-shifting abilities only amused Vegeta momentarily.

As Vegeta's gaze moved through the crowd, he caught glimpses of Gohan and Videl, seemingly lost in their own conversation. He raised an eyebrow, silently acknowledging the growth of the once-young Saiyan. Piccolo, standing alone as usual, observed the festivities with his usual stoicism.

But what caught Vegeta's attention the most was the sight of Goku, animatedly chatting with friends and family. His height and spiky hair made him stand out from the crowd immediately.

Each guest approached him to speak, and everyone seemed to hang on his every word.

Everybody loves that idiot.

The Saiyan prince couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance at Goku's seemingly carefree demeanour.

The more time passed, the more Vegeta noticed that he couldn't take his eyes off him.

He observed Goku's every movement, every facial expression. He observed his figure, noting how he was dressed and acknowledging that Goku had a remarkably fit body.

He looks just like a Greek statue, he thought.

Shit, shit, shit! What the hell are these thoughts running through my head? Vegeta muttered to himself, shaking his head in an attempt to chase away those unbidden thoughts.

Vegeta, the proud Saiyan prince, struggled against an inexplicable fascination that went beyond the disdain he usually felt for Goku. It was as if a veil had been lifted, revealing layers of complexity beneath the surface. The realisation unsettled Vegeta, stirring emotions he was ill-equipped to confront.

Determined to regain control, Vegeta shifted his focus back to the party, attempting to drown out the perplexing thoughts that lingered in the recesses of his mind. The music, laughter, and chatter of the gathering served as a distracting symphony, but the echoes of his inner turmoil persisted beneath the surface.

Vegeta couldn't stop thinking. He also noticed an erection forming inside his boxers. He started sweating and did everything he could to avoid anyone noticing him.

I'm really screwed.

"Hey Bulma, where's the bathroom?" exclaimed Goku, looking around the lively party with a slightly puzzled expression. He scratched his head, showcasing his trademark cluelessness.

"It's at the end of this hallway, second door on the left," Bulma replied, pointing in the direction of the bathroom with a casual flick of her hand.

"Ah, thanks Bulma," Goku said with a grateful smile, making his way through the bustling crowd towards the indicated direction.

Vegeta, observing from the corner of his eye, noticed his rival moving away from the crowd of people. It was the right opportunity to confront him. So, he got up and, trying not to be noticed, followed him. With a subtle glance around to ensure no one was paying attention, Vegeta moved with calculated steps.

Second door on the left...mmm...It must be that one.

"Hey, Kakarot!" Vegeta called out.

Goku turned around, surprised to find Vegeta approaching him. He raised an eyebrow in acknowledgment, a curious tilt to his head.

"Hmm? Ah, it is you, Vegeta?" Goku replied, nodding with a quizzical expression.

"I saw you are having fun at the party," Vegeta stated.

"What are you doing? Were you spying on me by any chance?" Goku asked, raising an eyebrow in mild suspicion.

"Don't think you're messing with me, huh?!" Vegeta retorted, slamming a hand on the wall.

The tension between the two Saiyans lingered in the air as they faced each other.

"But what are you talking about?" Goku asked, a furrow forming on his forehead.

"What do you think you're doing, huh? First, you coax me into confessing what you want to hear, and then you don't even bother to look my way, huh? Look, I noticed you blocked me on my phone," Vegeta accused, the edge in his voice reflecting his growing irritation.

"I don't understand why you're so upset; I'm just respecting your wishes, Vegeta," Goku replied.

"Respecting my wishes, huh? It's too convenient to talk like this," Vegeta retorted.

"Look, I don't want to argue with you right now. I just want to go to the bathroom," Goku said, turning his back on Vegeta and starting to walk away. However, before he could take another step, Vegeta grabbed him by the shirt, forcefully slamming him against the wall.

"Don't think you're the one in charge in this game, Kakarot!" Vegeta declared, slamming both hands on the wall next to his rival's head.

Without a chance to protest, Goku felt the unexpected warmth of Vegeta's lips pressed against his own. The suddenness of the kiss took him by surprise, momentarily freezing him in place.

Goku banged his head against the wall due to the force of Vegeta's mouth. His mind whirred in disbelief. Vegeta was willingly kissing him.

Feeling dizzy on his feet, Goku rested his weight against the wall, and basked in the feeling of Vegeta pushing his tongue deeper into his mouth.

Abrupt, Vegeta pulled away from Goku's face to breathe. He rubbed his right thumb across Goku's cheek, tender. "Gods, I love kissing you." He pressed his lips harder against Goku, and let his fingers roam from shoulders to neck. He worked his way up to Goku's hair, and ran lines through his scalp. Clinging to Goku as if he were a lifeline, he began to grind his hips hard.

Vegeta attacked his neck with kisses, pushing down his shirt collar to suck on sensitive skin.

"Vegetaa…," Goku was unable to rebel and he started to moan.

"Shhh, you don't want the others to hear us, do you?" Vegeta told him, placing his index finger on his lips.

Soon after, Goku felt a warm hand slip beneath the waist of his pants; Vegeta grabbed his cock and began to stroke furiously, muffling his yells with hard kisses on to the mouth.

Goku was ecstatic. He couldn't believe what was happening. But he would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't enjoying it. But, much to his chagrin, he soon found himself at his limit.

"Vegeta, I'm going to...ah…," Goku arched his back off the wall, trying to regain any sense of sanity in his mind.

As Vegeta's hand continued stroking and squeezing his cock, an inferno of pleasure spread across his entire body all the way from his abdomen, making Goku scream Vegeta's name as copious amounts of cum erupted from his twitching cock, coating the prince's fist and soiling his boxers.

He laid on the wall paralyzed. The afterglow of orgasm made him feel drowsy and satiated.

Vegeta gave him a mischievous look. He slowly pulled his hand stained with Goku's semen out of his pants.

"Look at the mess you've made," he looked him straight in the eyes.

Vegeta brought his fingers to his mouth and began licking them without taking his eyes off his rival.

The gesture carried a hint of provocation and a challenge.

"Hey Vegeta, Goku, where are you?" Bulma's voice rang out in the hallway, interrupting the intimate moment between the two Saiyans.

The intrusion of reality into the charged atmosphere prompted Vegeta to step back, a subtle smirk playing on his lips as he regarded Goku with a mix of defiance and something unspoken.

"You'd better compose yourself; you don't want to be seen in this condition, do you?" exclaimed Vegeta and with that, he quickly disappeared, choosing to hide before Bulma could discover them.

Goku let himself slide to the ground in disbelief, but when he heard Bulma's footsteps getting closer, he found the strength to compose himself and hastily button his trousers.

Soon after, Bulma saw him on the ground, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion at the unexpected sight.

"What are you doing there on the ground? I was looking for you," Bulma inquired, a mix of concern and curiosity in her voice. The question created a momentary pause that added to the tension surrounding Goku.

"Um... I don't know..." Goku stammered, his attempt at an explanation faltering as he struggled to find words that could encapsulate the complexity of the situation.

"Don't tell me you're already drunk," Bulma remarked.

"Uhm... no... or rather, yes," Goku mumbled, a hint of awkwardness tainting his response.

"Did you find the bathroom?" Bulma inquired, attempting to shift the focus from Goku's ambiguous state to the more practical matter at hand.

"The bathroom? Oh yeah... not yet," Goku replied.

"You're really a mess. Come, it's next door," Bulma said with a hint of exasperation.

"Uh, thanks Bulma," Goku uttered, expressing a sense of gratitude as he followed her towards the bathroom.

"Look, have you seen Vegeta? It seemed to me that he was coming in this direction," Bulma asked, revealing a veil of curiosity about Vegeta's fate.

Goku, caught off guard and still processing the recent encounter, shifted on his feet. He raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence, "Vegeta? No, I didn't see him. Why would I know?" His voice rose slightly, and he fidgeted, a subtle attempt to divert attention from the peculiar situation.

"Calm down, Goku. I only asked you one question. Okay, he must have gone to his room; it was already too much suffering for him to be at this party," Bulma reassured, her words accompanied by a comforting pat on Goku's shoulder.

"Hehehe, yes, I think you're right," Goku chuckled before locking himself in the bathroom and breathing a sigh of relief.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goku returned to the party looking as if he had just attended a funeral. The usual vibrant energy that surrounded him seemed to have disappeared, replaced by an uncharacteristic air of solemnity. Unfortunately for him, the keen eyes of those present couldn't help but notice the drastic change in his mood.

"What happened, Dad? Why the sad face?" Gohan asked, his concern evident in the furrowed lines on his forehead.

"And why were you in the bathroom for so long?" Chi-Chi chimed in, her curiosity mixed with a hint of suspicion in her inquiry.

"I... I... could not find the bathroom," Goku stammered, rubbing the back of his neck in a feeble attempt to evade further inquiries.

The simplicity of his explanation hung in the air, leaving a sense of uncertainty. Goku hoped it would be enough to divert attention and quell any additional probing.

"I think you're just drunk, Goku," exclaimed Krillin, offering a lighthearted interpretation of Goku's behaviour.

"Yeah, that's why I couldn't find the bathroom because I'm drunk," Goku laughed hysterically, causing confusion and puzzlement among those present.

"Alright, dear, I think it's time to go. Thank you so much, Bulma, for this beautiful party. I hope there will be more," Chi-Chi exclaimed, expressing her heartfelt appreciation for the event.

"You can be sure, Chi-Chi. And thanks again for coming," replied Bulma, expressing her gratitude as she bid farewell to Goku and Chi-Chi.

And so, much to Goku's delight, they made their way home.

On the way back, he was oddly quiet. The car's hum was the only sound, making space for thinking about what went down at the party.

"Dad, why are you so quiet?" Goten asked, curious and breaking the silence.

"Huh? I don't know, maybe it's the alcohol, hehe," Goku replied, trying to make it sound light and not too serious.

"You didn't drink that much, but maybe you're not used to it. When we get home, I'll make you a nice herbal tea so you can sleep well," Chi-Chi suggested, showing she cared about Goku's well-being.

As soon as they got back home, Goku patiently waited for Goten and Chi-Chi to fall asleep, feeling the need to address the issue with Vegeta and provide an explanation for his unexpected actions. Once the house was quiet, Goku lay on the bed and reached for his cell phone on the bedside table. Contemplating for a moment, he decided to unlock Vegeta's number. The soft glow of the phone's screen illuminated Goku's thoughtful expression as he prepared to reach out to Vegeta.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

Why did you do that?

From Vegeta:

What are you talking about?

Goku's fingers hesitated over the phone, contemplating his next words.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

You know very well what I'm talking about…

Silence lingered in the digital space, the anticipation of Vegeta's response heightening the atmosphere.

From Vegeta:

Ah, don't make it so long. Don't tell me you didn't like it!

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

In fact, I didn't like it at all. And never do it again, understand?

Goku's fingers typed furiously on the cell phone keyboard.

From Vegeta:

Yes, I saw how you didn't like it.....

Vegeta's response held a hint of amusement, a sly acknowledgment of Goku's discomfort.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

You did not answer my question. Why did you do that?

The seconds stretched into silence, each passing moment amplifying the tension between them.

From Vegeta:

There's no reason, I felt like doing it, that's all.

Goku's frustration deepened, his eyebrows furrowing as he struggled to comprehend Vegeta's nonchalant response.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

THAT'S ALL? You first make me feel guilty with the excuse of cheating and then you do the same?

From Vegeta:

Listen Kakarot, what's the harm in having a little fun? As long as there are no feelings involved we can have as much fun as we want, it's not cheating.

Vegeta's words carried a bold defiance, challenging Goku to reconsider his perspective on the matter.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

You are crazy!!!! totally crazy.

Goku's frustration escalated, his disbelief evident in his response.

From Vegeta:

Think whatever you want, Kakarot. But it won't be long before you reach out to me because you can't wait to see me again.

Vegeta's message dripped with confidence.

From Kakarot 🤡🥕

This will never happen! Goodbye Vegeta.

Vegeta did not respond to that message, but he knew he was right. That night, Goku's reaction to his touches and kisses confirmed it for him.

If he thinks I will give in, he's sorely mistaken, Goku thought.

With that conviction, he turned off his cell phone and went to sleep.
