Chapter 10 - Bright Star Academy: Entrance Exams

The next morning, I was quite unfortunate to wake up to a soft and tender surprise. Although I was asleep, my hands were active. I felt the tenderness of an unknown substance. Soon after, I heard Alesha calling me. Her voice was much closer than the usual shouting from the edge of the bed. I slowly and liturgically opened my eyes, only to find that the entire time I was busy ceresing my sister's breast. I was startled and in a fit of shock, hit my head against the bed post.

Alesha was still calm even though I was expecting a nasty slap. She was much to my shock, happy about it. She nagged at me for sleeping in so mush when I had to go for the entrance exams and dorm room registration at the Imperial Capital today. I sat up and gave a lack luster good morning. She then stood up

and excused herself.

After that bizzare ordeal, I finally got dressed in my magic enchanted uniform. Placing my sword and magic items in my inventory, I went downstairs to meet the family one last time before I set out to school. The moment was truly emotional, my mother, who is usually strong to keep my father in check couldn't help but shed tears over her little baby, now fully grown and becoming a man. The maids and butlers were also teary eyed, with some offering to accompany me to the school.

In the family's carriage, Regis informed us that we were to use the warp platform stationed in the center of town to get to the Imperial Capital.

At the warp platform, the operator inserted the magical gemstone key and in a sudden, brilliant flash of golden light, we were in the Imperial Capital. The Magical City Arcanous, of the Baltimore Empire. The streets were well made, even for the time period this world was in.

From the streets, people looked at the insignia on the carriage and wondered whether the young mistress of the Black household was finally back to school. Of course, only a hand full of people knew that I was headed to school with my sister.

At the academy entrance, I got out of the carriage and waved my sister goodbye while she continued with Regis to visit the headmaster's office for her re-enrollment application. People looked at me, some with looks of admiration for my white hair and others with an air of superiority, as if wanting me to acknowledge their presence. I stood in line, waiting for my name to be called.

According to this world's magical class heirachy, having the class of the Photon Knight is almost the same as being an ordinary swordman. Although the class has potential, it takes an immense amount of mana to wield it's unique skill, Photon Sword, to it's fullest.

Some stupid noble brats attempted to spy at my stats and only saw my concealment status. Even though it was my weakest, they were impressed that I had such high stats for someone who was recently awakened.

Soon after, every candidate, including myself, was seated for the test. The entrance exams were in two portions.

These were, magical theory know-how and combat assessment, which was based on what type of magic one possessed.

To be honest, I wasn't quite preturbed with the theory test. I could produce textbook answers from my head due to the inventory skill, but I was strictly asked by Lumina to keep a low profile. As such, I had to provide simple yet intricate answers to each question. Within thirty minutes of a three hour exam, I was done. Although, it would have taken less time if I hadn't been carefully downgrading my answers to the level of a child.

I decided to rest up a bit before the test ended and placed my head on the Arch. However, a sudden smack of a ruler to the Arch woke me up. It was the invigilator. I was not in the mood for interruptions and she made it worse by implying that I wasn't taking life seriously. I handed her the script so she could shut up and went back to sleep. She was baffled at how I was able to answer questions that would prove difficult for a second year students in thirty minutes.

She then looked at the name and saw that I was related to the so called marksman prodigy, Alesha Grimmseley Black. She said nothing and left with my script, hoping to somehow put me in my place by having my paper graded harshly. Of course, I wasn't going to loose to that.

When the time period ended, people left the hall with mixed emotions. Some were not sure of what they wrote, others simply sad because they couldn't answer most of the questions.

I on the other hand, simply strolled out with a uncaring expression on my face. We were asked to rest up and eat if possible, before the second test which was the test I was most eager about, the combat assessment. I slipped into the crowd of walking students and vanished to higher ground, using my superior agility. From the school's clock tower, the world seemed smaller.

I looked over the edge to try and get a feel of my newest skill, Analysis.

There were a few note-worthy candidates but nothing quite impressive.

The clock tower rang for noon, signifying the start of the practical test.

I jumped off the roof of the tower and used the momentum of decent to leap back into the crowd unnoticed.

The last aspect of the exam, also known as possible rankings. If you manage to pass the theory test, this aspect is meant to measure your aptitude in skill usage to determine the class you'll be put in.

This year, the sword instructor, Sir Henwick was supposed to be the proctor, but due to certain, obvious reasons, a new one was sent by the council. I think his name is, Sir. Knoltlese Brave.

Being the thirteenth person to be tested will give me some time to study his movements. Provided the candidates coming before me are strong enough to force his hand.
