Elara's POV
The reports arrived daily. Sometimes twice a day.
I read every one. I mapped the positions myself, moving the markers with my own hands. I did not trust anyone else to do it. This was my war. My kingdom. My husband in the field.
The first village was retaken in four days. The Rendered network activated exactly as planned. Disruption from within. Military pressure from without. The occupation force caught between both.
I read the report three times. Moved the marker. Stood at the map.
The pregnancy was showing now. I had stopped trying to conceal it. The council saw it. The servants saw it. I did not comment, and neither did anyone else.
Harwick brought me border intelligence on the sixth day. Supply line information from his outside contact, the one he had activated weeks ago. I routed it to Kaelen through the rider system.
"Your Majesty," he said. "There is more."
"Tell me."
