POV: Aphrodite
The ancient road does not belong to wolves.
We travel beyond known pack lands, following the path as it winds through territory I've never seen. The landscape shifts gradually, wild forest giving way to cultivated fields in the distance, evidence of human civilization spreading beyond isolated settlements.
This far from pack territories, the land feels different. Less wild, maybe. More shaped by mortal hands than supernatural presence.
And I notice something unsettling. The land no longer responds instantly to my presence. Back in wolf territory, my Direwolf power commanded attention. Trees would shift, animals would flee or submit, the very earth seemed to acknowledge what I was.
Here? Nothing. I'm powerful, yes. Can still shift, still command the ancient strength that runs in my blood. But the automatic dominance is gone.
I am powerful—but not dominant everywhere.
The realization is humbling and oddly freeing at the same time.
