The blood oozing from Haruto's forehead seemed as if it had become still. Time itself felt like it had slowed between the three.
The halos above them were slowly losing their white color. The air pressure had also intensified, almost as if it wanted to squish Leo and Haruto.
Saber planted her two feet into the ground, staring directly into their souls. As for Leo and Haruto, a sense of dread and death washed over them.
Then, the blood from Haruto's forehead began to drop again...
Plop!
Saber burst towards them, causing Haruto to activate his Signature again.
[Foresight]
Her next move was a direct slice to both of their necks, causing Haruto to jump over it.
"She's fast!"
Leo's reaction speed was quick, and he followed Haruto's movements with close precision. However, what he did not expect was for Saber to shift her weight so effortlessly.
"Fuck!"
She brought her sword up, grazing it against Leo's dragons. He barely managed to block it, and even then, it left a slash on his arms.
Leo was forced away, and Haruto tried to follow up while she was distracted. Saber was already prepared for this. With another decisive strike, she aimed towards his ribs.
Haruto relied on his senses to dodge the first strike, and his foresight to dodge the second one aimed towards his arm.
"Human, you move like a roach."
"What? I only wish to help you!"
Haruto's words were ignored as she swiped her sword. Leo joined the fight again, and the two of them began to assault Saber.
Every punch and kick they threw, no matter how hard or fast, was dodged. In fact, some of their punches even ended up harming each other.
Of course, with Haruto's open palm style, he was able to stop most of them. Even with their myriad of attacks, they were all countered with two meticulous swipes of Saber's blade.
Haruto never saw it coming — if not for his foresight, he would've lost his hand... Or even his life. As for Leo, he once again managed to block it, but took significant damage to his wrist.
Both Leo and Haruto, after receiving many injuries, had to back away.
Phewwwww.
"You plan to kill me like this, humans?"
That was the first breath Saber had let out during the entire three minutes of trading blows. Their combined efforts didn't faze her; it was all useless — hopeless even!
It didn't help that they had already exhausted most of their spiritual energy after battling Hollow Beasts for three hours. So, both of them shared a complex look and ran away.
What choice did they have? She was far too powerful for them to deal with alone. Even with Silas, there was no winning against her. Maybe, and just maybe, Rin Sato would be enough.
Saber was not going to let them get away that easily, though. Her arm twisted inhumanely as she began to chase them. Before they knew it, the flesh of her arm had extended five times further than before.
She sliced and stabbed her sword towards the two, but with their careful shielding of the surrounding buildings, they hardly received any damage. However, the distance between them and Saber continued to lessen.
She was now following closely behind Leo, and gaining on him. However, Saber did not swing her sword, waiting for the right moment when he let down his guard.
Taking advantage of this, Leo used the last of his spiritual energy to activate his Signature once again. This was a life-or-death gamble!
[Resonance]
He swiftly kicked at her blade while at the same time kicking against the building. As the second impact activated, he flew into the air, and her sword was knocked away.
"...Mmm."
Saber groaned in frustration as they escaped to safety. Leo and Haruto did not think twice about looking back, immediately going back to the supermarket.
However frustrated Saber was, she let them go based on the notion that they would be injured and would be hunted later by the beasts.
Saber picked up her sword, stabbing her hand with it. Her arm soon returned to its original length. Eventually, when this happened, the sword was consumed by her flesh.
"I will not let those two escape next time. To come to my world and dare to try and claim it. Humanity really only cares about power. Maybe they were right after all."
This was to say, although she loved humanity's culture, love comes with hate. And with hate comes regret. Saber did not have time to dwell on this; however, a filthy scent entered her nostrils from the new area.
"Filthy. Unrefined." She muttered.
This scent was Jör's aura, and it plagued this area, making Saber want to puke. She began to walk back in the forest, having had enough disturbances for the day.
It didn't take long for her to get there; she wanted to leave as soon as possible after smelling such a foul odor. The halos above had now turned grey, signaling nighttime.
Saber fiddled with a few ideas for where to sleep for a while. Even though she did not need sleep for another five hundred years, it was fun to pretend.
The first one was to sleep in a bush, but it was far too cold for that. The second was to find a house and sleep there, but she didn't want to smell that aura again.
She settled on building a cave underground, using leaves to make a makeshift blanket. And with that, she quickly fell into a slumber.
Leo and Haruto weren't as fortunate at the supermarket. They spent most of their time bandaging themselves up, Haruto pouring what little energy he had into his wounds.
"Who was that lady? I mean, seriously, Haruto. I know I said save anyone you see, but be more careful next time."
"I'm sorry... She seemed like a lost child."
"Yeah, well, clearly not!... Sorry."
"It's okay, I understand your anger." Haruto smiled.
After they were done bandaging themselves, as usual, Leo wrote down the events from today on a piece of paper. This was their way of communicating with Simon with his night owl schedule.
At first, he did not like the fact that Simon had done this, but with Haruto here, he had no fear. In fact, this was better considering the fact that they could scout during the day and at night.
However, he did not know Simon was doing more than just scouting. Good thing he will never know... Hehe.
With that, both of them went to sleep, ending their events for the day.
Haha, I liked this one. Now, back to My Master.
