Inside a conference room at the Shrek team's rest area, Zhang Lexuan stood before her teachers and peers. This room was usually used for tactical planning and analysis, but today the atmosphere was much heavier. Zhang Lexuan spoke with a voice that was clear and steady. She had just finished telling them everything.
She shared the details of her family genealogy and the truth about her Sun Moon Imperial Bloodline. She explained that her Sun Moon Imperial Legacy Spirit was the Moon. She also told them about her recent meeting with a young man, though she kept his private promise to herself.
Her words were like a giant stone thrown into a calm lake. They stirred up a storm in the hearts of Xuan Zi and the Team Leader Teacher. The room became very quiet. The Team Leader Teacher looked at Xuan Zi, who sat at the head of the table. He did not know what to say. He finally whispered, "Elder Xuan, this is a lot to take in."
Xuan Zi raised his hand to stop the teacher from talking. Usually, Xuan Zi had a hint of laziness or humor on his face, but now he was very pale. He looked more serious than ever before. He knew that Zhang Lexuan had a special background. Elder Mu had told him many times to take good care of her. However, he never expected her background to involve the imperial family of the Sun Moon Empire. That was on the other side of the continent.
He wondered if Elder Mu knew about this. He must have known. In the past, Xuan Zi did not care much about the Sun Moon Empire's spirits. He thought they just played with spirit tools and relied on outside objects. He did not think they were worth fearing. But Elder Mu had mentioned visiting that empire many years ago. It was likely that Elder Mu knew exactly who Zhang Lexuan was the moment he saw her.
Xuan Zi realized why Elder Mu had been so strict with her when she was a young child. It was to prevent any trouble from starting. Since Elder Mu had trusted her, Xuan Zi felt that Zhang Lexuan could still be trusted too. But something else was bothering him much more. He was worried about the young man from the Kong Family and the mysterious expert protecting him.
One attack from that expert had knocked him out. Even though he was a Level 98 Super Douluo, he still felt a cold chill in his bones. It felt like a parasite that would not go away. This coldness made it hard for his spirit power to flow. Right now, he could only use the power of a Level 95 Spirit Douluo. There was no doubt that the expert was a Limit Douluo. This was a massive problem. It was no longer just about a student's identity. This could change the future between Shrek and the Sun Moon Empire.
After a long time, Xuan Zi took a deep breath. "Lexuan, please sit down," he said. He looked at everyone in the room. "This matter is very important. We cannot decide what to do here. I will report this to the academy right away. We will have a Sea God Pavilion meeting. The elders will talk about it. Until then, you must keep this a secret. Do not tell anyone."
He looked at Zhang Lexuan, Wu Ming, and Han Ruoruo. "You must focus on the Grand Competition. Do not let this distract you. Do not forget that you carry the Glory of Shrek. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Elder Xuan!" the three of them replied. Their voices sounded heavy with worry.
Later that night, in a small room at an inn, the air suddenly moved like water. A man in dark green appeared out of nowhere. He was not very tall, but he felt as powerful as a volcano. He had short green hair and a rugged face. He looked wild and strong. This was Poison Undying, the Sect Master of the Body Sect.
"Why did you call me here so early?" Poison Undying asked. His voice was low and rough. "The meeting with the Tianhun Empire is still days away. What is so urgent?"
A man in a military uniform bowed to him. "Sect Master, please look at this," the man said. He handed over a recording spirit tool.
Poison Undying frowned. He thought his subordinate was being too dramatic. He had seen many things in his life, so he didn't think anything could surprise him. He put some of his spirit power into the tool to start the video.
On the screen, he saw Kong Mingan in the arena. The boy was alone against a whole team. Suddenly, a huge amount of Qi and Blood power erupted from the boy. It turned into a giant, terrifying figure. Kong Mingan defeated the entire Tianxiang Academy team easily.
Poison Undying froze. He had never seen anything like this before. He stared at the screen. He looked at the boy's body and the giant phantom made of blood and energy. "Is that... Qi and Blood power?" he whispered.
Even though he was just watching a recording, he knew exactly what he was seeing. The veins on his arm popped out as he gripped the tool. As the leader of the Body Sect, he knew how hard it was to train Qi and Blood. His sect used it to help with spirits, but they had never seen anyone use it like this. This boy was like a hidden treasure for the Body Sect.
He thought that if he could bring this boy to his sect, they would become much stronger. The boy might even be the perfect person to lead them in the future. Poison Undying knew he had to get this young man.
His subordinate spoke quietly. "Sect Master, his name is Kong Mingan. He is the grandson of Kong Deming from the Sun Moon Empire. He is guarded by Ye Yulin, a Super Douluo."
"So what?" Poison Undying said with a smirk. "The Sun Moon Empire is wasting his talent. He belongs in my Body Sect. Only we can show him how to be truly great."
He took a deep breath to calm his excitement. He looked at the image of the boy one more time. "Does he have a match tomorrow?"
"I am not sure, but he fought twice today," the subordinate replied. "He will probably fight again tomorrow."
"Good," Poison Undying said with a smile. "Then I will go see this boy for myself." He felt that if the boy was as talented as he looked, it was a blessing from heaven. He was sure his sect would prosper because of him.
Long ago, Yu Xiaogang had taught that knowledge was just as important as power. Poison Undying knew that finding a genius like this was more important than anything else. He prepared himself to meet the boy the next day. He wanted to see if the rumors were true. If Kong Mingan was truly a genius of Qi and Blood, the Body Sect would do anything to take him away from the Sun Moon Empire.
The power he showed was something that even a Titled Douluo would envy. This discovery could change the balance of power on the entire continent. Poison Undying left the room, his mind filled with plans for the future of his sect. He would not let this chance slip through his fingers. Tomorrow, the world would see what the Body Sect was truly capable of when they found something they wanted.
