It attempted one final Shadow Step, a desperate gamble to slip into the cracks of reality.
Han Jin simply reached into his pocket and pulled out the Rusty Paperclip.
"Going somewhere?" Han Jin asked.
He tossed the clip toward the Hunter.
"I think I'll link your Exit to your Entrance.
A closed loop seems appropriate for a creature with such limited imagination."
The Paperclip didn't hit the Hunter; it vanished mid-air.
Suddenly, the shadowy entity began to flicker.
It would disappear from the left side of the room and instantly reappear on the right, caught in a spatial treadmill that left it disoriented and dizzy.

Han Jin ignored the notification.
He stepped into the center of the loop, the Dragon Bone Cleaver shimmering with a dull, golden heat.
"Now," Han Jin said, his voice echoing with the weight of a judge passing sentence. "You are tough.
Stringy.
Full of dark energy and bad intentions.
In the culinary world, we call this a difficult cut."
He moved.
To the students watching, Han Jin became a blur of gold and steel.
He didn't just hack at the monster; he performed a thousand precise incisions in the span of a heartbeat.
Clang! Slice! Sizzle!
He wasn't killing the Hunter yet.
He was de-boning it.
With the Dragon Bone Cleaver, he sliced away the Hunter's obsidian armor, peeling it back like the skin of a grape.
He severed the Soul Chill nodes from its spectral nervous system.
He julienned the shadows that made up its cloak.
The commandos, who had been watching from the hallway, were frozen in a state of professional shock.
Captain Zhao gripped his shattered radio, his jaw hanging open.
"He's... he's not just fighting it," Zhao whispered. "He's preparing it.
Like a side of beef."
Lin Xi, however, saw the deeper truth.
Every stroke of Han Jin's blade was correcting a cosmic error.
He wasn't just butchering a monster; he was purifying the corrupted energy the Hunter had stolen from other worlds.
Han Jin finished with a flourish, spinning the cleaver and slamming it onto a cafeteria tray he had linked to the center of the room.
The Void Hunter was gone.
In its place lay a shimmering pile of translucent, blue-grey gelatinous cubes, pulsating with a soft light.
All the malice, the cold, and the hunger had been stripped away, leaving behind pure, concentrated void-essence.

He looked around.
The cafeteria was a wreck, but for the first time since the Great Harvest began, the atmosphere wasn't one of fear.
It was one of awe.
The students were looking at their trays, then at Han Jin, realizing that the loser they had ignored for years was the only thing standing between them and cosmic extinction.

He looked up at the ceiling, as if his gaze could pierce the roof and the atmosphere beyond.
"Class President, I think it's time we stopped playing high school.
Tell your Council that if they send another one of these toys to my school, I won't just cook the monster.
I'll come to their dimension and cook them."
Lin Xi swallowed hard.
She didn't doubt him for a second.
Suddenly, Han Jin's phone, the cheap, cracked screen device he had in his pocket began to vibrate.
It wasn't a call.
It was a System notification that appeared directly on the physical hardware.
[URGENT MESSAGE FROM: The Developer]
[Message: "I see you've found my Paperclip. Don't get too comfortable, God-Emperor. The Third Wave isn't a hunt.
It's an Update you can't skip."]
Han Jin stared at the screen, a cold smile spreading across his face.
"An update?" he whispered. "I've been waiting for a reason to go to the IT department."
