Chapter 54 - Leveling Up VI

She paused, then nodded obediently.

"As you wish."

"Do you plan to go to the other cities as well?" she asked after a moment.

Alan looked at her. "Yes. Why do you ask?"

"Then you should rest for now," Latina said seriously. "You're strong, no doubt—but if you go immediately, you will lose."

Alan studied her expression, then nodded.

"Alright. I'll take your advice."

"Thats great" Latina nodded as dark mist wrapped around her body. Slowly, her form dissolved into shadows that were absorbed into the necklace.

"Call me whenever you need me," her voice echoed faintly.

Alan looked down at the necklace in his hand.

"Let's see what you do," he muttered as he appraised it.

Weight: 10 ]

"What the fuck… why is this one so much stronger than the others?" Alan muttered, stunned by the sheer amount of information tied to it.

"Because it was not consumed to sustain our existence," Latina's voice echoed softly.

"When you killed the others, their power was completely exhausted. That meant the items they left behind also lost much of their value, and most of their skills were sealed," she explained.

Alan nodded slowly.

"I figured as much. That's why most of their items were only Epic rank. To preserve true power, they would've needed Unique, Legendary, or even Myth grade artifacts."

"Yes," Latina replied calmly. "True power requires at least Legendary rank, and at its peak, Myth. However, once an item falls from Myth, it can never return to that level again. From that point onward, it is capped at Legendary, no matter how much it grows."

Alan exhaled and nodded again, understanding settling in.

"So even growth-type items have their limits once they fall from Myth…"

"Though it's a great necromancy item, sadly I'm not a necromancer," Alan said.

"I sensed Mother's power within you. You must have inherited part of my authority after defeating me," Latina said calmly.

"You mean the Rune of Predation?" Alan asked as he nodded.

Alan held the rune and focused on the power tied to Latina.

[ Rune of Predation ]

[ The skill 'Can You Become the King of the Dead?' has been generated. ]

★ Special Skill ★

[ Can You Become the King of the Dead? ]

You can summon two Growth-type Skeletons.

These skeletons gain 5 stat points every time they level up.

Skeletons start at Level 1.

Base Stats:

Strength: 3

Stamina: 3

Agility: 3

Intelligence: 1

Mana Cost: 3,000

Duration: Until dismissed or destroyed

Cooldown: None

"Hm… I really did get a strange skill called Can You Become the King of the Dead?" Alan said.

"Yes. That is one of my core powers," Latina nodded." I inherited from my mother she created it after predating on first demon of hell power but thanks to her maxing different authorities they turned out better"

"If given enough time, it allows its user to create an army of monsters. In your case, however, it seems limited to only two," she added.

"That's fine. Better than nothing—and I also have this," Alan said, revealing the coffin.

"That makes it even better. You should only aim for Legendary undead. Anything below that is worthless," Latina said firmly.

"With Legendary bases, you can evolve them into Doom Knights, which will grant them 150% of the strength they had while alive."

Alan nodded, satisfied.

"That's perfect. Then let's try it."

He raised his hand as mana surged around him.

"Can You Become the King of the Dead?"

Dark runes ignited beneath Alan's feet as the ground trembled. Bone fragments rose from the shadows, rattling and assembling—until two rather dumb-looking skeletons appeared.

Alan stared at them.

Even with Latina's necklace boosting undead stats, they were… underwhelming.

"They will take time. They can absorb bones to strengthen themselves," Latina explained.

Alan nodded.

"I guess this will take a while," he muttered.

He dismissed the skeletons and moved deeper into the city. Ignoring the wooden chest that contained Braham's soul fragment, he found three more chests.

One contained another Pavranium golden egg.

The other wasn't a piece of Braham's equipment this time—but a skill book.

[ Mana Jamming (Enhanced) ]

All mana within the area becomes distorted.

Ambient mana scatters violently.

The enemy's internal mana flow is reversed and forcibly halted.

Learning Requirement: 4,000 Intelligence

"Hm… from the description, this is a really good skill," Alan muttered.

Without hesitation, he learned it.

The enhanced magical knowledge of Braham merged into his mind, further expanding his already terrifying control over mana.

Another powerful tool had been added to his arsenal.

"I guess I'm going to retire from the vampire cities for a bit," Alan mumbled as he left the city.

After that, he didn't went for the 8th city and began moving toward Reidan City.
